    I`m looking for opinion which one is better for building web applications(web sites). I have some experience with Django, and some with Google App Engine and App-Engine-Patch for Django. And it seems to me that only Django is working faster than the GAE implementation.     I am looking into JSON RPC libraries for .net that are free to use in commercial applications. Up until now i just seem to have found JROCK. What other libraries, architecture have i got similar to JRock for .NET 2.0 What is the difference between a [WebMethod] in asmx web-service returning a instance of a class and a JSON Rpc method as in the JRock website page. Do i have any usability benefits, performance benefits or any benefits of using one over the other

I mean is there a way to force program to change its text rendering engine, or creating one from base? note: there is some features of OpenType like rlig liga and swash, that are ignored by programs written by .net. but I see applications, like most of font viewing programs, using Advanced OTF features. I'm pretty sure that they are created by .net technology.

    We're approaching a point of replacing several of our developer PCs and would like to move up to 64-Bit to maximize the hardware/life of the PCs but we also need to support several legacy VB6 applications. That said, does the VB6 IDE run on Windows 7 64-bit? Microsoft says it's not supported, but that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't work. Does it work? Are there any pitfalls/workarounds needed to get it running?

  • Rails OpenID Authentication Plugin No Longer Installs Rake Tasks?

    I'm following the Railscasts tutorial on using OpenID with AuthLogic. This command: $ script/plugin install git://github.com/rails/open_id_authentication.git installs the plugin, but I don't see any OpenID Rake tasks (rake -T). In particular, I can no longer run the task: $ rake open_id_authentication:db:create With previous applications, the Rake tasks were installed without a problem, so what's changed with the plugin? Which version of the plugin do I need to get the behavior I'm looking for? Using Rails 2.3.5.

    Recently Google introduced an SDK for application usage tracking on mobile devices (Google Analytics for Mobile Apps). Unfortunately, it seems that it only supports IPhone and Android devices. Do you have any idea if this framework can somehow be used from Windows Mobile / Compact Framework applications or if Google is planning to release an SDK for WM? BTW, I don't mean a WM application for browsing through GA server reports, but an SDK for tracking your mobile app's usage.

  • How do you uninstall a ClickOnce application that doesn't appear in Add/Remove Programs?

    I'm getting the following error when I try to install one of my ClickOnce applications: An application for this deployment is already installed with a different application identity. I understand this is because I have used the same Application Identity but moved the deployment URL. I'd like to just uninstall the existing ClickOnce application and install from the new deployment location, however the existing application does not show in Add/Remove Programs. How can I remove the existing ClickOnce application so that it will let me install from the new location?
