• How can I set different Tooltip text for each item in a listbox?

  I have a listbox that is databound to a Collection of objects. The listbox is configured to display an identifier property of each object. I would like to show a tooltip with information specific to the item within the listbox that is being hovered over rather than one tooltip for the listbox as a whole. I am working within WinForms and thanks to some helpful blog posts put together a pretty nice solution, which I wanted to share. I'd be interested in seeing if there's any other elegant solutions to this problem, or how this may be done in WPF.

• Using DataPager Control with AJAX and SEO

  I've just taken my first stab at making a ListView, ObjectDataSource, and DataPager run in an AJAX panel. I had trouble getting it to work until I removed the QueryStringField="page" attribute from the DataPager. This attribute causes the current page to be passed as a query argument in the URL. For obvious reasons, I guess that won't work when posting back using AJAX. Now my question is if this hurts my SEO. When I used QueryStringField, the page links appeared as regular links with various query arguments. But now the links are just javascript. Haven't I hurt a search engine's ability to scan related pages? Or is there another approach to this?

  Hi, I would like to do some experimental work in a hg project. So I would like to create branch, commit to it. And if the experiment works, I can merge it back to main branch. In git, I can do $git branch experimental $git checkout experimental (edit file) $ git commit -a $ git checkout master I read http://stevelosh.com/blog/2009/08/a-guide-to-branching-in-mercurial/, it said ' hg branch feature'. • SSIS - Limiting Concurrent Connections

  Hi Folks, I am using SSIS to connect to a legecy mainframe database and this allows only 5 concurrent connections at a time. I have a dataflow task with many tables to transfer and it kicks outs because of this limitation. I have split up the Data Flow task into seperate data flows and this is working for the moment, but it is not optiomal as they need to be sequenced and 1 large transfer in a flow is holding up subsequent transfers. Anyone any idea of how to limit the number of connections in a single data flow, I had a look at using the Engine Threads but this did not make any difference. Any help much appericated.

  Anyone know of good code examples of how to make lists look different than your everyday average black list or more graphically pleasing than you usually see in android apps. I've looked through google code but haven't found too many. I'm looking for different and eye catching lists. I hope this question isn't too generic. Also i'm open to anything, code, examples, blog posts, etc, you name it. I've really struggled with lists and making them look more snazzy.   I'm trying to create a table for pseudo array variable. That looks like CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `MyArray`.`ArrayTable` ( `ID` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL COMMENT 'Hash value of SessionID + ArrayName' , `SessionID` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL , `ArrayName` CHAR(26) NOT NULL COMMENT '32 digit char - 6 digit longest process id (assumtion)' , `Index` INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL , `Value` TEXT NOT NULL , PRIMARY KEY (`ID`, `SessionID`) ) ENGINE = MyISAM; The table is not normalized yet, 'hope this will make it a little simpler to understand :) To avoid collission between client, there should be a differentiator between client session. For that reason i think need to know current session/process id (just like "SHOW PROCESSLIST") but really need to know IN WHICH process the query are?

• Mootools Fade effect for Joomla Tabs

  Hi, I am trying to use the TabsManager for Joomla from Gavick. I am using the fourth example. But instead of the slide effect for navigating to different tabs, I am trying to use the FADE effects to show the tab contents. I have no idea how to do this in mootools.   Unfortunately the specification does not tell anything about precision. The xml scheme definition states that it is of the type xsd:decimal: <xsd:restriction base="xsd:decimal"> <xsd:minInclusive value="0.0"/> <xsd:maxInclusive value="1.0"/> </xsd:restriction> I have a sitemap generator that uses up to 10 positions after decimal point. Where often only the last few positions differ. These numbers are perfectly right according to the xsd, but yet i found some pages(3,4) that state that only 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, .., 1.0 are valid values. How will the search engines react to such a sitemap? Will some just round the value? I know that it is unlikely that someone can provide an answer to that question, unless he works for that search engine, but i think experiences will also do.

  I have just learned how to use the SQLite database for local storage in a Webkit web browser (e.g. Google Chrome or Apple Safari) using the Javascript API. For example the "Sticky Notes" application. However, I know that SQLite has a function called sqlite_create_function() that lets you add custom functions to your instance of SQLite on the fly which can then be used inside SQL queries. This function is described at sqlite.org. I also know that you can call an equivalent of this API in Ruby as described here. QUESTION: Can anybody show me how to do this in Javascript - i.e. write a custom function in Javascript that can be bound into the SQLite database at run time to be called by the SQLite engine, and all inside a Webkit browser?

  Which MVC-framework is the best option (performance/ease of development) for a web application, that will have + 2 million visits per week. Basically the site is a search engine,but also there will be large amounts of xml parsing, and high db traffic. We are using Java, over Jboss 4.2.3x, with PG as DB, and Solr for the searches. We were thinking on code JSPs with taglibs, and Servlets, but we were feeling like there would be a better alternative, which don't know yet, as we are starting on the Java Web applications world.   Hi Folks, Is there a tool out there to measure the actual Render time of an element(s) on a page? I don't mean download time of the resources, but the actual time the browser took to render something. I know that this time would vary based on factors on the client machine, but would still be very handy in knowing what the rendering engine takes a while to load. I would imagine this should be a useful utility since web apps are becoming pretty client heavy now. Any thoughts?

  Our company would like to redirect all calls to html files on our server to a separate page. The html pages are NOT in an asp.net application. In order to do this, I've been writing and IIS Handler in asp.net. 1) Is this possible to add an IIS handler to redirect static content that isn't served by any asp.net engine, i.e. stand alone files on the server? 2) If it is possible, how do I do this? I created an http handler in a class library. In the app.config I added the handler to the and sections. I added the DLL to the GAC, I changed the html mapping to my custom IIS dll and nothing works. Is there a tutorial or explanation from A to B on how to do this? Thanks. E p.s. I'm using IIS 7.5

• Solution for distributing MANY simple network tasks?

  I would like to create some sort of a distributed setup for running a ton of small/simple REST web queries in a production environment. For each 5-10 related queries which are executed from a node, I will generate a very small amount of derived data, which will need to be stored in a standard relational database (such as PostgreSQL). What platforms are built for this type of problem set? The nature, data sizes, and quantities seem to contradict the mindset of Hadoop. There are also more grid based architectures such as Condor and Sun Grid Engine, which I have seen mentioned. I'm not sure if these platforms have any recovery from errors though (checking if a job succeeds). What I would really like is a FIFO type queue that I could add jobs to, with the end result of my database getting updated. Any suggestions on the best tool for the job?

  I'm thinking of making a little web tool for analyzing the search engine optimization and web accessiblity of a whole website. First of all, this is just a private tool for now. Crawling a whole website takes up alot of resources and time. I've found out that wget is the best option for downloading the markup for a whole site. I plan on using PHP/MySQL (maybe even CodeIgniter), but I'm not quite sure if that's the right way to do it. There's always someone who recommends Python, Ruby or Perl. I only know PHP and a little bit Rails. I've also found a great HTML DOM parser class in PHP on SourceForge. But, the thing is, I need some feedback on what I should and should not do. Everything from how I should make the crawl process to what I should be checking for in regards to SEO and WCAG. So, what comes to your mind when you hear this?

The clear impact here is to the wide array of programs written in languages other than those. Is that your reading of the clause in the new agreement as well? Update: Here is the clause as printed on Daring Fireball: 3.3.1 — Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited).

  What is the most official Java 7 feature list? I find very little useful information regarding this on the official JDK 7 site. Apart from that I can only find blogs with people summarizing "some" of the new features. However, some of these blog entries are old and some of them claim that these features "may or may not" be included in Java 7. Can anyone provide a list of features that will definitely be included in Java 7? I would also very much like to know the estimated release date. Will it be backwards compatible with my existing Java EE 6 stuff. That is, will I be able to switch seamlessly using EJBs, JPA2, Glassfish 3 and so on. The feature I am mostly interested in is Closures, so I'll happily switch to Java 7 as soon as a stable release comes out. Thanks!

• Cannot Generate ParameterSetMetadata While Programmatically Creating A Parameter Block

  I'm trying to programmatically create a parameter block for a function ( along the lines of this blog post ). I'm starting with a CommandMetadata object (from an existing function). I can create the ParameterMetadata object and set things like the ParameterType, the name, as well as some attributes. The problem I'm running into is that when I use the GetParamBlock method of the ProxyCommand class, none of my attributes that I set in the Attributes collection of the ParameterMetadata are generated. The problem this causes is that when the GetParamBlock is called, the new parameter is not annotated with the appropriate Parameter attribute. • Continuations in Java

  I am looking for recent work presenting continuations in Java. I have come across the same question here but it dates back for a year or two. There is some work such as JavaFlow by Apache, RIFE Continuations (that I cannot download for any reason now). Also there is a blog post mentioning the support in JDK but it seems that the support will span to Java 8. I also reckon that continuations are also introduced in recent Scala versions. I am looking for implementations in Java presenting the continuations concept. And, I am not looking for the works that present continuation-passing-style (CSP). I'd be thankful for any other work you might know.
