  • How to retrieve Google Blogger feed in ASP.NET medium trust?

    I have an ASP.NET web site hosted at HostMySite.com and they recently changed the shared accounts to run in medium trust. In my web site I query my Blogger account and get blog posts to display on my web site. I am using Google.GData.Client v1.4.0.2 The retrieval works locally (and worked until medium trust was invoked at the ISP).     Should I use a local copy of jquery, or should I link to a copy provided by Google or Microsoft? I'm primarily concerned about speed. I've heard that just pulling content from other domains can have performance advantages related to how browsers limit connections. In particular, has anyone benchmarked the speed and latency of Google vs. Microsoft vs. local? Also, do I have to agree to any conditions or licenses to link from a third-party?

    i want to add a simple image into an email which i want to send from a lotus agent. Whatever i tried i get an empty image area (browser-no-image icon) in the email i receive. I also have checked "Allow restricted operations" in my agent. I would prefer it if there is a solution to use an image from my resources and not an external link. Any solutions?

The live system mounts a device called /dev/mapper/arch_root-image as its ext4 root partition (/ mount point). The problem is that I dont know how to control the size of this partition.   • Does .Net use Device Dependent or Device Independent Bitmaps?

    When loading an image into memory, does .Net use DDB, DIB, or something else entirely? If possible, please cite your sources. I'm wondering because we currently have a classic ASP application that is using a 3rd party component to load images that is occasionally creating a “Not enough storage is available to process this command.” error. The error is very inconsistent but tends to happen on larger images (not always, but often). After resetting IIS, processing the same file again typically works just fine. After much research I have found that DDBs tend to have this problem when processing large images because they work out of video memory. Considering that we are running on a web server with an integrated video card and limited shared memory, this could certainly be our problem. We are in the early stages of converting our app to .Net and am wondering if using .Net for this might be a viable alternative to our current method which is why I am asking the question. Any advice is welcome :) but out of curiosity if nothing else, I am really hoping for an answer to the question; does .Net use DDB or DIB?

    Can a bookmarklet be used to overlay an image on a web page? Not as a pop-up, but as a image positioned by CSS and with a high z-index to display on top of other elements. And without a mask i.e., Shadowbox or similar jQuery effect. Just an image from a URL and positioned in the bottom left hand corner of the browser window.   • What states does my route travel through?

    I've got a page that has a map with a starting and ending location. I run a route between them to get the nifty line showing the route. I'm currently using Bing but have attempted with Google as well. I'd like to know which states this route passes through so I can then overlay those states with specific information. Any suggestions on how to obtain this would be most appreciated. I'm using the AJAX SDK's for both Bing and Google. Handling all the local stuff with js/jquery.

My extension should change the background color of google home page (https://www.google.com) I wrote this code (including jquery): $(".gsib_a").style="background:#FF0000"; But not worked. I'm sure I added jQuery to content script, and the manifest.json file is set. I am sure because this code works: $(".gsib_a").hide(); And I am sure changing style of the element with class of gsib_a is exactly what I need and affects. Because I've tested it by Chrome Developer Tools. Okay, who knows the problem?

    Hi All, I have a team site in which the Search scope dropdown only shows This site and it doesn't show All Sites and People in the dropdown.Any one knows why? I have not enabled Custom scopes in Search settings for this site because I don't have Search Center created. If I create search center and specify as a custom scope in this site I can see all 3 scopes in the dropdown. I am just trying to understand whether I need to have Search Center created to have all these shared scopes getting displayed in the Search Scopes drop down?

I've made some experiments on a local shell with configuration loaded using the technique found in NoseGAE versus live on the 'App Engine Console' [1] and it looks to me like a distinction btw real instance and dev server is the presence of the module google.appengine.tools.   • Creating a pie chart for an app

    I'm developing an app which requires a pie chart to display a set number of modules. The modules need to be clickable, sending a value to the database for how many times the module has been clicked. The slices will change color etc depending on this database value. The slices will always be equal in size. All simple stuff. My question is what charting system would you use. I've been looking at google charts but I have no way of registering a value in a slice without changing its 'weight' in the chart. So ideally I would like to add data-stage="2" to each slice that I can access with a custom method. Also google charts seems quite heavy for what I need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Joe

    is there a way to run gwt on a proxy loaded web page ? ex) using proxy script on myexamplesite.com that loads finance.google.com, and running GWT on the newly loaded page. I've been doing the above before I found about GWT, using LAMP stack + Jquery (UI), which quickly turned out to be crap and inefficient. All this trouble to bypass browser's default Single Origin Policy. So, right now, is it possible to overcome this problem with GWT ? Is it possible to some how, run javascript on a html page from finance.google.com loaded into myexamplesite.com's frame with GWT or other solution? I am not looking to do JSON or RSS related topics. What I need is high lighted in bold. Is GWT + Gears what I should be using ? Thank you.

    I have a listview which I show video results from YouTube. Everything works fine but one thing I noticed is that the way it works seems to be a bit slow and it might be due to my code. Are there any suggestions on how I can make this better? Maybe loading the images directly from the url instead of using a webclient? I am adding the listview items in a loop from video feeds returned from a query using the YouTube API.     Based on my limited understanding of this parameter [1] it seems to be used in representing cookieless session IDs in java applications... but strangely, we're now noticing that a 3-year-old .NET stack is now appearing in Bing SERPs with GXHC_gx_session_id appended to the domain - and we're not alone: http://www.bing.com/search?q=GXHC_gx_session_id http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&q=GXHC_gx_session_id When comparing Google SERPs to Bing SERPs there are some inconsistencies in whether a particular site carries this parameter - is it then a bing-specific issue only? What else could cause this parameter to be appended to indexed URLs if the target environment (anything behind the load balancers) isn't running java?
