• Problem reintegrating a branch into the trunk in Subversion 1.5

  I'm trying to reintegrate a development branch into the trunk in my Subversion 1.5 repository. I merged all the changes from the trunk to the development branch prior to this operation. Now when I try to reintegrate the changes from the branch I get the following error message: Command: Reintegrate merge https://dev/svn/branches/devel into C:\trunk Error: Reintegrate can only be used if revisions 280 through 325 were previously Error: merged from https://dev/svn/trunk to the reintegrate Error: source, but this is not the case: Error: branches/devel/images/test Error: Missing ranges: /trunk/images/test:280-324 ... The message then goes on complaining about some folders in my project. But when I try to merge the changes from the trunk to the development branch again, TortoiseSVN tells me that there's nothing to merge (as I already merged all the changes before): Command: Merging revisions 1-HEAD of https://dev/svn/trunk into C:\devel, respecting ancestry Completed: C:\devel I'm trying to follow the instructions from here: http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.5/svn.branchmerge.basicmerging.html, but there's nothing about solving such a problem. Any ideas? Perhaps I should just delete the trunk and then make a copy of my branch? But I'm not really sure if it's safe.

• ASP.Net MVC Object Reference in Edit View when using DropDownListFor()

  This question is related to another I ask recently, it can be found here for some background information. GetTalkback() returns an Entity framework object of type Talkback which is generated from the Talkback table. The DropDownListFor code is: <%: Html.DropDownListFor(model=>model.method_id,new SelectList(ViewData["MethodList"] as IEnumerable<SelectListItem>,"Value","Text",Model.method_id)) %> The record I am viewing has values in all fields. When I click submit on the View, I get an Object reference not set to an instance of an object. error on the above line. There are a number of standard fields in the form prior to this, so the error is only occurring on dropdown lists, and it is occurring on all of them. Any ideas? This is my first foray in to MVC, C#, and Entity so I am completely lost!

• RSA Decrypting a string in C# which was encrypted with openssl in php 5.3.2

  maybe someone can clear me up. I have been surfing on this a while now. I used openssl from console to create a root certificate for me (privatekey.pem, publickey.pem, mycert.pem, mycertprivatekey.pfx). See the end of this text on how. The problem is still to get a string encrypted on the PHP side to be decrypted on the C# side with RSACryptoServiceProvider. Any ideas? PHP side I used the publickey.pem to read it into php: $server_public_key = openssl_pkey_get_public(file_get_contents("C:\publickey.pem")); // rsa encrypt openssl_public_encrypt("123", $encrypted, $server_public_key); and the privatekey.pem to check if it works: openssl_private_decrypt($encrypted, $decrypted, openssl_get_privatekey(file_get_contents("C:\privatekey.pem"))); Coming to the conclusion, that encryption/decryption works fine on the php side with these openssl root certificate files. • iPhone app doesn't build crash reports

  My app formerly created useful crash logs. I synced my iPhone in the past and found crash logs in library/logs/CrashReporter About a month ago, my app stopped creating crash reports. When I first discovered this problem, I assumed it was due to memory corruption (a possibility in my app). I just created a new project and added a crash to it. // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, // typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; [array removeObjectAtIndex:-1]; [super viewDidLoad]; } This app does not create a crash report either. Ideas I've started to explore: My phone is corrupted (tried restoring - somehow I brought it to the state from a few months ago) My XCode is corrupt (tried reinstalling, but current download demands Snow Leopard - and I can't upgrade to Snow Leopard online). This seems possible - I may have messed with device support around a month ago (similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1224867/does-iphone-os-3-0-1-ruin-your-development-phone ) The location for crash logs has somehow moved. Suggestions?

• Windows 7 64 Bit - ODBC32 - Legacy App Problem

  Good day StackOverFlowlers, I´m a little stuck (really stuck) with an issue with a legacy application on my organization. I have a Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit machine, Access 2000 Installed and the Legacy App (Is built with something like VB but older) The App uses System ODBC in order to connect to a SQL 2000 DataBase on a Remote Server. I created the ODCB using C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe app in order to create a System DSN. I did not use the Windows 7 because it is not visible to the Legacy App. I tested the ODBC connection with Access and worked ok, I can access the remote database. Then I run the legacy App as Administrator and the App can see the ODBC, but I´m getting errors on credential validation and I´m getting this error: DIAG [08001] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Multi-Protocol]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (17) DIAG [01000] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Multi-Protocol]ConnectionOpen (Connect()). (53) DIAG [IM006] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed (0) I use Trusted Connection on the ODBC in order to validate the user by Domain Controller. I think that the credentials are not being sent by the Legacy App to the ODBC, or something like that. I don´t have the source code of the Legacy App in order to debug the connection. Also, I turned off the Firewall. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

• 2d array, using calloc in C

  Hi, I'm trying to create a 2D array of chars to storage lines of chars. For Example: lines[0]="Hello"; lines[1]="Your Back"; lines[2]="Bye"; Since lines has to be dynamically cause i don't know how many lines i need at first. Here is the code i have: int i; char **lines= (char**) calloc(size, sizeof(char*)); for ( i = 0; i < size; i++ ){ lines[i] = (char*) calloc(200, sizeof(char)); } for ( i = 0; i < size; i++ ){ free(lines[i]); } free(lines); I know that each line can't go over 200 chars. I keep getting errors like "error C2059: syntax error : 'for'" and such. Any ideas of what i did wrong?

• Apache unresponsive on Vista [closed]

  I had been running Apache on Vista for around a year, but recently upgraded my workstation. I did a clean install of Vista Ultimate and installed the latest version of the Apache server for win32 (2.2.11, no SSL). The service runs fine and there were no errors reported during the install, nor are there any errors in the Apache logs. However, any attempt to access the web site on localhost (or 127.0.0.1) just hangs the browser. I have used netstat to check who is listening to port 80 and it shows httpd.exe. I have also tried adjusting the .conf file to use port 8080 but this had no effect either (except to change the netstat output). This is a development system with quite a few other pieces of software installed. However, when I tried installing IIS, it worked fine (I removed it soon after before reattempting the Apache install). Using the older 2.0 version of Apache has no effect. Windows firewall is not running. I have disabled my NOD32 anti-virus. Any ideas what is going on? Regards, William

• AVAudioPlayer only initializes with some files

  Hi everyone, I'm having trouble playing some files with AVAudioPlayer. When I try to play a certain m4a, it works fine. It also works with an mp3 that I try. However it fails on one particular mp3 every time (15 Step, by Radiohead), regardless of the order in which I try to play them. The audio just does not play, though the view loading and everything that happens concurrently happens correctly. The code is below. I get the "Player loaded." log output on the other two songs, but not on 15 Step. I know the file path is correct (I have it log outputted earlier in the app, and it is correct). Any ideas? • why does text from socket server erase previously written text?

  This is strange enough I'm not sure how to search for an answer. I have a program in Python that communicates via TCP/IP sockets to a telnet-based server. If I telnet in manually and type commands like this: SET MDI G0 X0 Y0 the server will spit back a line like this: SET MDI ACK Pretty standard stuff. Here's the weird part. If, in my code, I precede my printing of each of these lines with some text, the returned line erases what I'm trying to print before it. So for example, if I write the code so it should look like this: SENT: SET MDI G0 X0 Y0 READ: SET MDI ACK What I get instead is: SENT: SET MDI G0 X0 Y0 SET MDI ACK Now, if I make the "READ: " text a bit longer, I can get a better idea of what's happening. Let's say I change READ: to 12345678901234567890, so that it should read as: 12345678901234567890: SET MDI ACK What I get instead is: SET MDI ACK234567890: So it seems like whatever text I'm getting back from the server is somehow deleting what I'm trying to precede it with. I tried saving all of my saved lines in a list, and then printing them out at the end, but it does exactly the same thing. Any ideas on what's going on, or even on how to debug this? Is there a way to get Python to show me any hidden chars in a string, for example? thx!

• Oracle rownum in db2 - Java data archiving

  I have a data archiving process in java that moves data between db2 and sybase. FYI - This is not done through any import/export process because there are several conditions on each table that are available on run-time and so this process is developed in java. Right now I have single DatabaseReader and DatabaseWriter defined for each source and destination combination so that data is moved in multiple threads. I guess I wanted to expand this further where I can have Multiple DatabaseReaders and Multiple DatabaseWriters defined for each source and destination combination. So, for example if the source data is about 100 rows and I defined 10 readers and 10 writer, each reader will read 10 rows and give them to the writer. I hope process will give me extreme performance depending on the resources available on the server [CPU, Memory etc]. But I guess the problem is these source tables do not have primary keys and it is extremely difficult to grab rows in multiple sets. Oracle provides rownum concept and i guess the life is much simpler there....but how about db2? How can I achieve this behavior with db2? Is there a way to say fetch first 10 records and then fetch next 10 records and so on? Any suggestions / ideas ? Db2 Version - DB2 v8.1.0.144 Fix Pack Num - 16 Linux

• clientaccesspolicy.xml not being requested via HTTPS

  I have a silverlight app that has been using http to communicate w/self-hosted WCF services during development. I am now securing the services via https. I am getting an error I had back at the beginning of the project: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI 'https://localhost:8303/service'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details." My clientaccesspolicy.xml file is setup to allow access from http://* and https://*. The only difference is using http vs https. The issue is I can usually see (via Fiddler) the clientaccesspolicy.xml file being requested, but now I cannot. I'm assuming it is failing because of this. Any ideas?

• WPF performance on scaling a large scene

  I have a full screen app that I want to be able to zoom in on certain areas. I have the code working fine, but I notice that when I get closer in, the zoom in animation (which animates the ScaleTransform.ScaleX and ScaleTransform.ScaleY properties on a Parent canvas) starts to jerk down a little and the frame rate suffers. Im not using any BitmapEffects or anything, and ideally I would like my scene to get more complicated than it currently already is. The scene is quite large, 1980x1024, this is a requirement and cannot be changed. The current layout is like this: <Canvas x:name="LayoutRoot"> <Canvas x:Name="ContainerCanvas"> <local:MyControl x:Name="c1" /> <!-- numerous or ther controls and elements that compose the scene --> </Canvas> </Canvas> The code that zooms in just animates the RenderTransform of the ContainerCanvas, which in tern, scales its children which gives the desired effect. However, Im wondering if I need to swap out the ContainerCanvas for a ViewBox or something like that? Ive never really worked with ViewBox/Viewport controls before in WPF can they even help me out here? Smooth zooming is a huge requirement of the client and I must get this resolved.   I have got an error while trying to upgrade our large project to SL4. I didn't write the original theme and my theme knowlege isn't great. In my demo app I have a Label and a LabelHeader(which i have created and is just a derived class from Label with DefaultStyleKey = typeof(LabelHeader); I am styling lthem like this: <Style TargetType="themeControls:LabelHeader"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <DataInput:Label FontSize="{TemplateBinding FontSize}" FontFamily="{TemplateBinding FontFamily}" Foreground="{TemplateBinding Foreground}" Content="{TemplateBinding Content}"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Tahoma"/> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="20"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red"/> </Style> This works in SL3 but in SL4 I get: Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2500 Category: ParserError Message: The property 'Content' was not found in type 'System.Windows.Controls.Control'. File: Line: 9 Position: 168 If I change this: Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" to Content="XXX" Then there is no error but , of course, I get XXX in my label rather than the content I set in XAML on the page Any ideas how I can get this working?   Hi, I've been reading a ton about xml and learning a lot but I am stuck on one error. I have a schema defined in multiple files and I can't get it to work. • cleaning up noise in an edge detection algoritum

  I recently wrote an extremely basic edge detection algorithm that works on an array of chars. The program was meant to detect the edges of blobs of a single particular value on the array and worked by simply looking left, right, up and down on the array element and checking if one of those values is not the same as the value it was currently looking at. The goal was not to produce a mathematical line but rather a set of ordered points that represented a descritized closed loop edge. The algorithm works perfectly fine, except that my data contained a bit of noise hence would randomly produce edges where there should be no edges. This in turn wreaked havoc on some of my other programs down the line. There is two types of noise that the data contains. The first type is fairly sparse and somewhat random. The second type is a semi continuous straight line on the x=y axis. I know the source of the first type of noise, its a feature of the data and there is nothing i can do about it. As for the second type, i know it's my program's fault for causing it...though i haven't a hot clue exactly what is causing it. My question is: How should I go about removing the noise completely? I know that the correct data has points that are always beside each other and is very compact and ordered (with no gaps) and is a closed loop or multiple loops. The first type of noise is usually sparse and random, that could be easily taken care of by checking if any edges is next that noise point is also counted as an edge. If not, then the point is most defiantly noise and should be removed. However, the second type of noise, where we have a semi continuous line about x=y poses more of a problem. The line is sometimes continuous for random lengths (the longest was it went half way across my entire array unbroken). It is even possible for it to intersect the actual edge. Any ideas on how to do this?

• C# Static constructors design problem - need to specify parameter

  I have a re-occurring design problem with certain classes which require one-off initialization with a parameter such as the name of an external resource such as a config file. For example, I have a corelib project which provides application-wide logging, configuration and general helper methods. This object could use a static constructor to initialize itself but it need access to a config file which it can't find itself. I can see a couple of solutions, but both of these don't seem quite right: 1) Use a constructor with a parameter. But then each object which requires corelib functionality should also know the name of the config file, so this has to be passed around the application. Also if I implemented corelib as a singleton I would also have to pass the config file as a parameter to the GetInstance method, which I believe is also not right. 2) Create a static property or method to pass through the config file or other external parameter. I have sort of used the latter method and created a Load method which initializes an inner class which it passes through the config file in the constructor. Then this inner class is exposed through a public property MyCoreLib. public static class CoreLib { private static MyCoreLib myCoreLib; public static void Load(string configFile) { myCoreLib = new MyCoreLib(configFile); } public static MyCoreLib MyCoreLib { get { return myCoreLib; } } public class MyCoreLib { private string configFile; public MyCoreLib(string configFile) { this.configFile = configFile; } public void DoSomething() { } } } I'm still not happy though. The inner class is not initialized until you call the load method, so that needs to be considered anywhere the MyCoreLib is accessed. Also there is nothing to stop someone calling the load method again. Any other patterns or ideas how to accomplish this?

• Retrieve parent node from selection (range) in Gecko and Webkit

  I am trying to add an attribute when using a wysiwyg editor that uses "createLink" command. I thought it would be trivial to get back the node that is created after the browse executes that command. Turns out, I am only able to grab this newly created node in IE. Any ideas? • Remove In-App Purchase from free app and increase the price

  The current version of an application in the App Store is free and has very limited functionality. An In-App Purchase unlocks everything else. I have decided to remove the In-App Purchase and just make the application cost the same price as the In-App Purchase did. But if I make the update now, then those users who have the free version but who have not yet paid for the In-App Purchase will get a free update into the full version. I have removed all traces of my singleton class, PurchaseManager, from the application, so that at this point, when I build/run it, all of the features are unlocked. At this point, how can I make sure that the free-version users don't just ride an update into the full version? Maybe there's a way to test whether the app is obtained through an update or through a purchase? That way, if it's through an update, I will see if it's the free version w/o the IAP and then force the user to purchase the IAP to continue playing. Any ideas?

• Remote JMS connection still using localhost

  I have a created a JMS Connection Factory on a remote glassfish server and want to use that server from a java client app on my local machine. I have the following configuration to get the context and connection factory: Properties env = new Properties(); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory"); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.url.pkgs", "com.sun.enterprise.naming"); env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.state", "com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.JNDIStateFactoryImpl"); env.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost", JMS_SERVER_NAME); env.setProperty("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort", "3700"); initialContext = new InitialContext(env); TopicConnectionFactory topicConnectionFactory = (TopicConnectionFactory) initialContext.lookup("jms/MyConnectionFactory"); topicConnection = topicConnectionFactory.createTopicConnection(); topicConnection.start(); This seems to work and when I delete the ConnectionFactory from the glassfish server I get a exception indicating that is can't find jms/MyConnectionFactory as expected. However when I subsequently use my topicConnection to get a topic it tries to connect to localhost:7676 (this fails as I am not running glassfish locally). If I dynamically create a topic: TopicSession pubSession = topicConnection.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE); Topic topic = pubSession.createTopic(topicName); TopicPublisher publisher = pubSession.createPublisher(topic); Message mapMessage = pubSession.createTextMessage(message); publisher.publish(mapMessage); and the glassfish server is not running locally I get the same connection refused however, if I start my local glassfish server the topics are created locally and I can see them in the glassfish admin console. In case you ask I do not have jms/MyConnectionFactory on my local glassfish instance, it is only available on the remote server. I can't see what I am doing wrong here and why it is trying to use localhost at all. Any ideas? Cheers, James

• java TrayIcon using image with transparent background

  I am using the following code to set a tray icon in Windows and Linux. It works wonderful in Windows and works okay in Linux. • CSS animated menu

  I am trying to obtain something similar to the "share this on..." menu here but I don't quite understand how they are doing this, even after a look at their CSS. I refer to the fact that the images show up on hover. My first attempt would be something like <div id="share_on"> <ul> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-digg.png" /></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-reddit.png" /></a></li> ... <li><a href="#"><img src="shareon-stumbleupon.png" /></a></li> </ul> </div> and the CSS: #share_on {overflow: hidden} #share_on ul {margin-bottom: -16px} #share_on li {display: inline} #share_on li:hover {margin-top: -16px} Of course this does not work, which is why I am asking here. In the inactive state, only half of the icon shows up, which is the expected behaviour. But on hover, nothing changes. I also have tried some variations, like #share_on li:hover {margin-bottom: 16px} or #share_on li:hover {padding-bottom: 16px} but none of these works. Any ideas?
