    Here are the GDI functions Chord() provided by MFC: BOOL Chord( int x1, int y1, int x2, int y2, int x3, int y3, int x4, int y4 ); BOOL Chord( LPCRECT lpRect, POINT ptStart, POINT ptEnd ); It seems to me that no such method is privided by GDI+ (the Graphics class), so how do I implement my own Chord function (with the exact same prototype) ? By the way, I just don't understand why does MS just don't provide them. Thanks.

  • Suggest an alternative way to organize/build a database solution.

    We are using Visual Studio 2010, but this was first conceived with VS2003. I will forward the best suggestions to my team. The current setup almost makes me vomit. It is a C# solution with most projects containing .sql files. Because we support Microsoft, Oracle, and Sybase, and so home-brewed a pre-processor, much like C preprocessor, except that substitutions are performed by a home-brewed C# program without using yacc and tools like that. #ifdefs are used for conditional macro definitions, and yeah - macros are the way this is done. A macro can expand to another macro or two, but this should eventually terminate. Only macros have #ifdef in them - the rest of the SQL-like code just uses these macros. Now, the various configurations: Debug, MNDebug, MNRelease, Release, SQL_APPLY_ALL, SQL_APPLY_MSFT, SQL_APPLY_ORACLE, SQL_APPLY_SYBASE, SQL_BUILD_OUTPUT_ALL, SQL_COMPILE, as well as 2 more. Also: Any CPU, Mixed Platforms, Win32. What drives me nuts is having to configure it correctly as well as choosing the right one out of 12 x 3 = 36 configurations as well as having to substitute database name depending on the type of database: config, main, or gateway. I am thinking that configuration should be reduced to just Debug, Release, and SQL_APPLY. Also, using 0, 1, and 2 seems so 80s ... Finally, I think my intention to build or not to build 3 types of databases for 3 types of vendors should be configured with just a tic tac toe board like: XOX OOX XXX In this case it would mean build MSFT+CONFIG, all SYBASE, and all GATEWAY. Still, the overall thing which uses a text file and a pre-processor and many configurations seems incredibly clunky. It is year 2010 now and someone out there is bound to have a very clean and/or creative tool/solution. The only pro would be that the existing collection of macros has been well tested. Have you ever had to write SQL that would work for several vendors? How did you do it? Can someone point out the appropriate way to call this function? When it had no parameter and was "addFavorite," it worked fine.

    I want to give the user a web-page where he can type some simple SQL. select * from myTable. What I would like is to have the autocompletion area to help typing: sel [selECT] select * f [select * fROM] select * from [select * fROM column1] [select * fROM column2] ... Anybody can suggest if there is a nice open source library for this ? I am not really interested in the SQL (I will have to parse a DSL) I am more interested on a powerful autocompletion text area widget.

    I got an IFrame, in the onload event i set the height of the frame: function resizeFrame() { $("#iframeID").height($("#iframeID").contents().find("body").outerHeight(true)); } Problem is: When the content of the frame is increasing without a postback (javascript or Async Postback with Ajax), a scrollbar appears. I found a solution for Firefox: document.getElementById("iframeID").contentWindow.addEventListener("overflow", resizeFrame, false); But i can't find a solution for IE 7+8 Anyone got an idea?

    We have a strange problem in our team. When a developer is using Eclipse in Debug mode, MS SQL Server 2005 blocks other developers from accessing a stored procedure. Debug session typically involves opening Hibernate session to persist an entity which could be accessing a stored procedure used for Primary key generation. Debugging is done in business logic code and rarely in JDBC stored procedure call. Is there any way to configure MS SQL server or the stored procedure so that other developers are not blocked?

I mean this part : copy the state of the given object onto the persistent instance. And if i used ApplyCurrentValues it seemes to be as update behavior or not?
