  • RTP session with Gstreamer

    - by Walidix
I'm newbie with Gstreamer and I'm trying to use it in order to make a RTP session I can make a Gstrtpbin sender and a Gstrtpbin receiver separately but I can not make the same Gstrtpbin as sender and receiver in the same time. My question: Is it possible to do it ??? If it is, I will be thankful for a simple example with the C language.

  • What problem does Peaberry for Guice solve?

    - by Benju
I understand the problem that OSGI solved thanks to this question.... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/106222/what-does-osgi-solve And I am already convinved that Guice is amazing so I'm curious what this OSGI integration for Guice known as "peaberry" is supposed to do, it seems to be popping up everywhere, even in Maven 3 presentations. http://code.google.com/p/peaberry/

  • Native Windows Application Development Options

    - by Michael Stum
Long winded title, short question: If one wants to develop for Windows but not have to rely on any external dependency (no runtime, thus ruling out .net), what supported, alive and fully functioning* alternatives are there? Visual Basic 6 is dead, Visual C++ is obvious and Delphi seems to be the prime choice for that, but I wonder if there are any other alternatives? *as in: Being able to use all the Windows Features like putting an icon in the Notification Area, making the Taskbar Icon flash etc.

    Yesterday I asked this question: Is this possible to make as an option dialog? and I learned it could be made with JDialog. I'm using Netbeans GUI editor and made a button that will call my custom JDialog I designed in the GUI editor. The JDialog is called jDialog1. How do I call the jDialog1 with the button? private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { // TODO add your handling code here: }

  • Multithreading improvements in .NET 4

    - by Artiom Chilaru
I have heard that the .NET 4 team has added new classes in the framework that make working with threads better and easier. Basically the question is what are the new ways to run multithreaded tasks added in .NET 4 and what are they designed to be used for? UPD: Just to make it clear, I'm not looking for a single way of running parallel tasks in .NET 4, I want to find out which are the new ones added, and if possible what situation would each of them be best suited for..

  • Google Ajax search API

    - by jAndy
Hi Folks, I'm wondering, is it possible to receive google results over their own ajax API in a way like, 100 results per page? Without a visible search field, I'd like to get the results in the background to create a progression for some search phrases. My basic question is, what are the restrictions of the google search api ? Kind Regards --Andy

  • How to tell a connect timeout error from a read timeout error in Ruby's Net::HTTP

    - by Ben Marini
My question is related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2370140/how-to-rescue-timeout-issues-ruby-rails. Here's the common way to rescue from a timeout: def action # Post using Net::HTTP rescue Timeout::Error => e # Do something end I'd like to determine if the exception was raised while trying to connect to the host, or if it was raised while trying to read from the host. Is this possible?

  • What does Silverlight 4 Tools only give partial intellisense?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I finally got Silverlight 4 Toolkit installed , referenced and working after the difficulty of finding the right namespace described in this question. But intellisense doesn't work fully: after I type "tk:", it doesn't pop up the various controls I have available, but if I type a control name out, e.g. DockPanel, then it works, as shown below. It will even give me intellisense after I type tk:DropPanel, which is odd. How can I get intellisense to work in all cases for the Silverlight 4 Toolkit?

  • Vaadin and Spring MVC Integration

    - by dakull
I'm thinking about the possibility of using Spring MVC with Vaadin Framework. Are there any documented ways of making them play nicely together ? Also is it a good idea to use them together ? relating to performance; I'm going to run the app on a dedicated server. To make my question a bit more clear, how can i return a modelandview from a Spring MVC Controller that wll render using Vaadin and can access all the model data.

  • How to filter a character stream from an application using PowerShell?

    - by Christian
A powershell question: I want to extract each line in a character stream produced by an application that matches a certain pattern which in pseudo-code would be something like this: PS <a_ps_command> <the_application_command_for_outputting_the_text_stream> | <my_filter > output_file.txt In my case the application is a CM-tool that outputs the change history of a source file and the (psuedo)pattern should be something like: <a couple of numbers><a name><a time stamp><a line of characters> Cheers, Christian

  • Is there an algorithm for converting quaternion rotations to Euler angle rotations?

    - by Will Baker
Is there an existing algorithm for converting a quaternion representation of a rotation to an Euler angle representation? The rotation order for the Euler representation is known and can be any of the six permutations (i.e. xyz, xzy, yxz, yzx, zxy, zyx). I've seen algorithms for a fixed rotation order (usually the NASA heading, bank, roll convention) but not for arbitrary rotation order. Furthermore, because there are multiple Euler angle representations of a single orientation, this result is going to be ambiguous. This is acceptable (because the orientation is still valid, it just may not be the one the user is expecting to see), however it would be even better if there was an algorithm which took rotation limits (i.e. the number of degrees of freedom and the limits on each degree of freedom) into account and yielded the 'most sensible' Euler representation given those constraints. I have a feeling this problem (or something similar) may exist in the IK or rigid body dynamics domains. Solved: I just realised that it might not be clear that I solved this problem by following Ken Shoemake's algorithms from Graphics Gems. I did answer my own question at the time, but it occurs to me it may not be clear that I did so. See the answer, below, for more detail. Just to clarify - I know how to convert from a quaternion to the so-called 'Tait-Bryan' representation - what I was calling the 'NASA' convention. This is a rotation order (assuming the convention that the 'Z' axis is up) of zxy. I need an algorithm for all rotation orders. Possibly the solution, then, is to take the zxy order conversion and derive from it five other conversions for the other rotation orders. I guess I was hoping there was a more 'overarching' solution. In any case, I am surprised that I haven't been able to find existing solutions out there. In addition, and this perhaps should be a separate question altogether, any conversion (assuming a known rotation order, of course) is going to select one Euler representation, but there are in fact many. For example, given a rotation order of yxz, the two representations (0,0,180) and (180,180,0) are equivalent (and would yield the same quaternion). Is there a way to constrain the solution using limits on the degrees of freedom? Like you do in IK and rigid body dynamics? i.e. in the example above if there were only one degree of freedom about the Z axis then the second representation can be disregarded. I have tracked down one paper which could be an algorithm in this pdf but I must confess I find the logic and math a little hard to follow. Surely there are other solutions out there? Is arbitrary rotation order really so rare? Surely every major 3D package that allows skeletal animation together with quaternion interpolation (i.e. Maya, Max, Blender, etc) must have solved exactly this problem?

  • Salesforce: Fire a SOAP Outbound Message using Apex

    - by codeulike
I have an existing Workflow Rule that fires of a (SOAP) Outbound Message when a certain type of object is created or updated. That works fine. I want to extend it so that a similar Outbound Message is also sent when the objects are deleted. According to this discussion, Workflow Rules cannot be made to fire based on object deletions, so I have to write an Apex Trigger instead. So the question is, how do I kick off a SOAP Outbound Message from within Apex?

  • Mochiweb's Scalability Features

    - by ErJab
From all the articles I've read so far about Mochiweb, I've heard this over and over again that Mochiweb provides very good scalability. My question is, how exactly does Mochiweb get its scalability property? Is it from Erlang's inherent scalability properties or does Mochiweb have any additional code that explicitly enables it to scale well? Put another way, if I were to write a simple HTTP server in Erlang myself, with a simple 'loop' (recursive function) to handle requests, would it have the same level scalability as a simple web server built using the Mochiweb framework?

  • Does constantly checking the documentation make you a bad coder?

    - by cdburgess
When writing PHP code for any given project, do you find you can write code off the top of your head? Or do you make multiple round trips to php.net? If it is the later, can you still be considered a good coder. This is a legitimate question as I find I have difficulty always remembering all of the functions that are available to me so I find I use php.net as a crutch. Is there anyway to improve this?

    - by David Göransson
I am using an LGPL library in my code. For my needs, I need to modify the code in the library. How do I mark the jar file that it contains modified code? Some txt file in the jar? In that case, what do I write in the txt file? I will include in the license agreement that we are distributing a modified version of the jar, but my question is about marking the jar itself.

  • How to escape trailing backslash in NVelocity

    - by Ben
I am using NVelocity to process various PowerShell scripts before they are executed against a server. My question is how to escape a backslash trailing a variable: e.g. ls \\$computername\c$ $computername should be replaced with a valid computer name at runtime, but the trailing backslash (\c$) means that it does not. Thanks Ben
