  • Vaadin and Spring MVC Integration

    - by dakull
I'm thinking about the possibility of using Spring MVC with Vaadin Framework. Are there any documented ways of making them play nicely together ? Also is it a good idea to use them together ? relating to performance; I'm going to run the app on a dedicated server. To make my question a bit more clear, how can i return a modelandview from a Spring MVC Controller that wll render using Vaadin and can access all the model data.

  • UML sequence diagram

    - by Upul
I have a question regarding sequence diagrams. When drawing sequence diagrams, Is it enough to draw one diagram per user case ? or do we need to draw a set of sequence diagrams to cover each user case instance ? (is a sequence of actions a system performs that yields an observable result of value to a particular Use Case Actor)

    - by CodeToGlory
I keep hearing Eclipse is better than or way ahead than Visual studio but when I installed eclipse I felt it is very clunky and hard to use interface. So I want to know what is so great about Eclipse and if there are others who agree with me. I also could not find a similar question that talks about the specific features about Eclipse and their comparison to Visual studio.

  • Image upload and jCrop and codeigniter

    - by sea_1987
Hi There, I am trying to build a system that allows a user to select an image from their own computer, and crop it using the jCrop tool from jQuery. My question is can I show the image the user has selected from their system without uploading it to a system, I dont really want to do two uploads, unless I can do the first upload silently? Any help would be great. Thank you.

  • Java LockSupport Memory Consistency

    - by Lachlan
Java 6 API question. Does calling LockSupport.unpark(thread) have a happens-before relationship to the return from LockSupport.park in the just-unparked thread? I strongly suspect the answer is yes, but the Javadoc doesn't seem to mention it explicitly.

  • FogBugz - Estimate & EBS

    - by Jeremiah
I have a FogBugz question regarding EBS (Evidence Based Scheduling)... Developer A estimates Case A at X amount and Developer B ends up taking over Case A before Developer A can get started and before time has been logged against it. If Developer B agrees with the same estimate that Developer A entered, how might we transfer that same estimate to Developer B for the purpose of evidence-based scheduling? (I want to avoid having Developer B switch the estimate to Y and then back to X)

For ex: on one of my previous questions one answered ((a)-(b))&0x80000000) 31 - this is kind of a too advanced for me and i can't really get what it means. I am not looking just for an answer of that, but i need someone to tell me some books/sites/whatever where i can learn this cool "advanced" tricks in C - and learn how and where to use them respectively too.

  • Worst security hole you've seen?

    - by Si
Subject says it all, probably a good idea to keep details basic to protect the guilty. FWIW, here's a question about what to do if you find a security hole, and another with some useful answers if a company doesn't (seem to) respond.

  • Is Polymorphism and Method Overloading is almost the same thing in C++

    - by Maxood
In C++, there are 2 types of Polymorphism: Object Polymorphism Function Polymorphism Function polymorphism is exactly the same thing as method or function overloading i.e. We use the same method names with different parameters and return types. Now the question is why do we have this fancy name Polymorphism in OOP? What distinctly distinguishes polymorphism from method overloading? Can someone explain with a scenario. Thanks

  • Until when will Python 2.5 be supported?

    - by Emilien
Apparently Python only supports 2 minor versions (like 2.X), so that would mean Python 2.5 would get phased out when Python 2.7 comes out (in June 2010?) Is this correct? PEP 356 -- Python 2.5 Release Schedule doesn't give much answers to this question.

  • TimeZoneInfo to TIME_ZONE_INFORMATION structure

    - by jaircazarin-old-account
Hey, I've a TimeZoneInfo object and from this one I want to create a TIME_ZONE_INFO struct. Bias, StandardDate and Daylightdate are pretty easy to obtain. However, I'm having problems getting standardbias and daylightbias. So the question is, How can I get the standardbias from a TimeZOneInfo object and how can I get the same thing for daylightbias (there is a AdjustmentRule.DaylightDelta, but as you can see I need the offset not the delta). Thanks.

  • Bitwise operation on void* in C#

    - by code poet
So I am Reflector-ing some framework 2.0 code and end up with the following deconstruction fixed (void* voidRef3 = ((void*) & _someMember)) { ... } This won't compile due to 'The right hand side of a fixed statement assignment may not be a cast expression' I understand that Reflector can only approximate and generally I can see a clear path but this is a bit outside my experience. Question: what is Reflector trying to describe to me? Update: Am also seeing the following fixed (IntPtr* ptrRef3 = ((IntPtr*) & this._someMember))

  • Microsoft DBMS on-the-fly aggregation

    - by ILya
Some time ago i was reading an article about new MS DBMS technology. It's some kind of OLAP but on the fly. This technology can bind to data flows and then provide a real time aggregation. So the question is "what is it's name?". I need such a technology now but can't remember it's name... Or maybe there are some similar technologies?

  • Will .Net 4.0 include a new CLR or keep with version 2.0

    - by Rory Becker
Will .Net 4.0 use a new version of the CLR (v2.1, 3.0) or will it stick with the existing v2.0? Supplementary: Is it possibly going to keep with CLR v2.0 and add DLR v1.0? Update: Whilst this might look like a speculative question which cannot be answered, the VS team appear to be releasing more and more info on VS10 and .Net 4.0 so this may very soon not be the case. • How to get an outline view in sublime texteditor?

    - by karlthorwald
How do I get an outline view in sublime code editor for Windos? http://www.sublimetext.com/ The minimap is helpful but I miss a traditional outline (a klickable list of all the functions in my code in the order they appear for quick navigation and orientation) Maybe there is a plugin, addon or similar? It would also be nice if you can shortly name which steps are neccesary to make it work. There is a duplicate of this question here: http://www.sublimetext.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=993&p=4308&sid=1a162626960826ab21861f1203f64ec5#p4308
