  • Still confused about JavaScript's 'this'.

    - by Nick Lowman
I've been reading through quite a few articles on the 'this' keyword when using JavaScript objects and I'm still somewhat confused. I'm quite happy writing object orientated Javascript and I get around the 'this' issue by referring the full object path but I don't like the fact I still find 'this' confusing. I found a good answer here which helped me but I'm still not 100% sure. So, onto the example. The following script is linked from test.html with <script src="js/test.js"></script> if (!nick) { var nick = {}; } nick.lowman = function(){ var helloA = 'Hello A'; console.log('1.',this, this.helloA); var init = function(){ var helloB = 'Hello B'; console.log('2.',this, this.helloB); } return { init: init } }(); nick.lowman.init(); What kind of expected to see was 1. Object {} nick.lowman, 'Hello A' 2. Object {} init, 'Hello B' But what I get is this? 1. Window test.html, undefined 2. Object {} init, undefined I think I understand some of what's happening there but I would mind if someone out there explains it to me. Also, I'm not entirely sure why the first 'console.log' is being called at all? If I remove the call to the init function //nick.lowman.init() firebug still outputs 1. Window test.html, undefined. Why is that? Why does nick.lowman() get called by the window object when the html page loads? Many thanks

  • XSLT: Regular Expression function does not work?

    - by Fedor Steeman
    Ok, this one has been driving me up the wall... I have a xslt function that is supposed to split out the Zip-code part from a Zip+City string depending on the country. I cannot get it to work! This is what I got so far: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:exslt="http://exslt.org/functions" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <xsl:function name="exslt:GetZip" as="xs:string"> <xsl:param name="zipandcity" as="xs:string"/> <xsl:param name="countrycode" as="xs:string"/> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="$countrycode='DK'"> <xsl:analyze-string select="$zipandcity" regex="(\d{4}) ([A-Za-zÆØÅæøå]{3,24})"> <xsl:matching-substring> <xsl:value-of select="regex-group(1)"/> </xsl:matching-substring> <xsl:non-matching-substring> <xsl:text>fail</xsl:text> </xsl:non-matching-substring> </xsl:analyze-string> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:text>error</xsl:text> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> </xsl:function> I am running it on a source XML where the following values are passed to the function: zipandcity: "DK-2640 København SV" countrycode: "DK" ...will output 'fail'! I think there is something I am misunderstanding here...

  • How do I store more information in a marker?

    - by Sebastian
Hello, I'm using Google Maps v3 and I build in the server side a json collection of location data. So when I receive that, I iterate through that collection and create a marker object for each and every one of them. For each of these markers, I bind them with the click event, so when the user clicks on a marker in the map, it displays an infoWindow with data related to the associated location. I have an array to store all the location got from the server that holds the retrieved json objects and their corresponding marker. The problem is that, even when I have an array that I can reference or iterate through, I need to not only get the marker object when the user clicks on them, but also the location object, that stores more information. I tried to mantain this array of objects and reference it from the calling object without success, because the function is called by the marker and not the location object. So I thought if it's possible to store more information in the google maps marker object like using a general purpose field. Please let me know if more information is needed. Thanks!

  • .NET remoting exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely.

    - by Vilx-
I'm writing a program which will allow to load a specific managed .DLL file and play with it. Since I want the ability to unload the .DLL file, I'm creating two AppDomains - one for the app itself, the other for the currently loaded .DLL. Since most of the objects in the loaded .DLL do not serialize well, I'm creating a MarshalByRefObject wrapper class which will keep the object itself in its own AppDomain, and expose some reflection functions to the main application AppDomain. However when I try to invoke a method on the remote object I get stuck with an exception: Permission denied: cannot call non-public or static methods remotely. This is very strange, because I'm not using any non-public or static methods at all. In essence, what I have is: class RemoteObjectWrapper: MarshalByRefObject { private Type SourceType; private object Source; public RemoteObjectWrapper(object source) { if (source == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("source"); this.Source = source; this.SourceType = source.GetType(); } public T WrapValue<T>(object value) { if ( value == null ) return default(T); var TType = typeof(T); if (TType == typeof(RemoteObjectWrapper)) value = new RemoteObjectWrapper(value); return (T)value; } public T InvokeMethod<T>(string methodName, params object[] args) { return WrapValue<T>(SourceType.InvokeMember(methodName, System.Reflection.BindingFlags.FlattenHierarchy | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.InvokeMethod | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Public, null, this.Source, args)); } } And I get the exception when I try to do: var c = SomeInstanceOfRemoteObjectWrapper.InvokeMethod<RemoteObjectWrapper>("somePublicMethod", "some string parameter"); What's going on here? As far as I can understand, the InvokeMethod method doesn't even get executed, the exception is thrown when I try to run it. Added: To clarify - SomeInstanceOfRemoteObjectWrapper is constructed in the .DLL's AppDomain and then returned to my main AppDomain, The InvokeMethod<T>() is called from my main AppDomain (and I expect it to execute in the .DLL's AppDomain).

  • Create Zip File In Windows and Extract Zip File In Linux

    - by Yan Cheng CHEOK
I had created a zip file (together with directory) under Windows as follow : package sandbox; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileInputStream; import java.io.FileOutputStream; import java.io.IOException; import java.util.zip.ZipEntry; import java.util.zip.ZipOutputStream; /** * * @author yan-cheng.cheok */ public class Main { /** * @param args the command line arguments */ public static void main(String[] args) { // These are the files to include in the ZIP file String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + File.separator + "MyFile.txt"}; // Create a buffer for reading the files byte[] buf = new byte[1024]; try { // Create the ZIP file String outFilename = "outfile.zip"; ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(outFilename)); // Compress the files for (int i=0; i<filenames.length; i++) { FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(filenames[i]); // Add ZIP entry to output stream. out.putNextEntry(new ZipEntry(filenames[i])); // Transfer bytes from the file to the ZIP file int len; while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0) { out.write(buf, 0, len); } // Complete the entry out.closeEntry(); in.close(); } // Complete the ZIP file out.close(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } The newly created zip file can be extracted without problem under Windows, by using http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html However, I realize if I extract the newly created zip file under Linux, using http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.util.zip/GetZip.html, I will get a file named "MyDirectory\MyFile.txt" instead of MyFile.txt being placed under folder MyDirectory. I try to solve the problem by changing the zip file creation code to String[] filenames = new String[]{"MyDirectory" + "/" + "MyFile.txt"}; But, is this an eligible solution, by hard-coded the seperator? Will it work under Mac OS? (I do not have a Mac to try out)

  • Fluent NHibernate IDictionary with composite element mapping

    - by Alessandro Di Lello
    Hi there, i have these 2 classes: public class Category { IDictionary<string, CategoryResorce> _resources; } public class CategoryResource { public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual string Description { get; set; } } and this is xml mapping <class name="Category" table="Categories"> <id name="ID"> <generator class="identity"/> </id> <map name="Resources" table="CategoriesResources" lazy="false"> <key column="EntityID" /> <index column="LangCode" type="string"/> <composite-element class="Aca3.Models.Resources.CategoryResource"> <property name="Name" column="Name" /> <property name="Description" column="Description"/> </composite-element> </map> </class> and i'd like to write it with Fluent. I found something similar and i was trying with this code: HasMany(x => x.Resources) .AsMap<string>("LangCode") .AsIndexedCollection<string>("LangCode", c => c.GetIndexMapping()) .Cascade.All() .KeyColumn("EntityID"); but i dont know how to map the CategoryResource entity as a composite element inside the Category element. Any advice ? thanks

  • How to check if returning View is of type PartialViewResult or a ViewUserControl

    - by mare
In the method FindView() I have to somehow check if the View we are requesting is a ViewUserControl. Because otherwise I get an error saying: "A master name cannot be specified when the view is a ViewUserControl." This is my custom view engine code right now: public class PendingViewEngine : VirtualPathProviderViewEngine { public PendingViewEngine() { // This is where we tell MVC where to look for our files. /* {0} = view name or master page name * {1} = controller name */ MasterLocationFormats = new[] {"~/Views/Shared/{0}.master", "~/Views/{0}.master"}; ViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/{1}/{0}.aspx", "~/Views/Shared/{0}.aspx", "~/Views/Shared/{0}.ascx", "~/Views/{1}/{0}.ascx" }; PartialViewLocationFormats = new[] {"~/Views/{1}/{0}.ascx", "~/Views/Shared/{0}.ascx"}; } protected override IView CreatePartialView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string partialPath) { return new WebFormView(partialPath, ""); } protected override IView CreateView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewPath, string masterPath) { return new WebFormView(viewPath, masterPath); // this line produces the error because we cannot set master page on ASCXs, so I need an "if" here } public override ViewEngineResult FindView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewName, string masterName, bool useCache) { if (controllerContext.HttpContext.Request.IsAjaxRequest()) return base.FindView(controllerContext, viewName, "Modal", useCache); return base.FindView(controllerContext, viewName, "Site", useCache); } } The above ViewEngine fails on calls like this: <% Html.RenderAction("Display", "MyController", new { zoneslug = "some-zone-slug" });%> The action I am rendering here is this: public ActionResult Display(string zoneslug) { WidgetZone zone; if (!_repository.IsUniqueSlug(zoneslug)) zone = (WidgetZone) _repository.GetInstance(zoneslug); else { // do something here } // WidgetZone used here is WidgetZone.ascx, so a partial return View("WidgetZone", zone); } I cannot use RenderPartial because you cannot send route values to RenderPartial the way you can to RenderAction. To my knowledge there is no way to provide RouteValueDictionary to RenderPartial() like the way you can to RenderAction().

  • Getting the CVE ID Property of an update from WSUS API via Powershell

    - by thebitsandthebytes
    I am writing a script in Powershell to get the update information from each computer and correlate the information with another System which identifies updates by CVE ID. I have discovered that there is a "CVEIDs" property for an update in WSUS, which is documented in MSDN, but I have no idea how to access the property. Retrieving the CVE ID from WSUS is the key to this script, so I am hoping someone out there can help! Here is the property that I am having difficulty accessing: IUpdate2::CveIDs Property - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa386102(VS.85).aspx According to this, the IUnknown::QueryInterface method is needed to interface IUpdate2 -  "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee917057(PROT.10).aspx" "An IUpdate instance can be retrieved by calling the IUpdateCollection::Item (opnum 8) (section 3.22.4.1) method.  The client can use the IUnknown::QueryInterface method to then obtain an IUpdate2, IUpdate3, IUpdate4, or IUpdate5 interface. Additionally, if the update is a driver, the client can use the IUnknown::QueryInterface method to obtain an IWindowsDriverUpdate, IWindowsDriverUpdate2, IWindowsDriverUpdate3, IWindowsDriverUpdate4, or IWindowsDriverUpdate5 interface. " Here is a skeleton of my code: [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration") | Out-Null  if (!$wsus)  {  Returns an object that implements IUpdateServer  $wsus = [Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.AdminProxy]::GetUpdateServer($server, $false, $port)  }  $computerScope = New-Object Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.ComputerTargetScope  $updateScope = New-Object Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.UpdateScope  $updateScope.UpdateSources = [Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.UpdateSources]::MicrosoftUpdate  $wsusMachines = $wsus.GetComputerTargets($computerScope)  foreach machine in QSUS, write the full domain name $wsusMachines | ForEach-Object {  Write-host $.FullDomainName  $updates = $.GetUpdateInstallationInfoPerUpdate($updateScope)  foreach update for each machine, write the update title, installation state and securitybulletin $updates | ForEach-Object {  $update = $wsus.GetUpdate($.UpdateId) # Returns an object that implements Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.IUpdate $updateTitle = $update.Title | Write-Host $updateInstallationState = $.UpdateInstallationState | Write-Host $updateSecurityBulletin = $update.SecurityBulletins | Write-Host  $updateCveIds = $update.CveIDs # ERROR: Property 'CveIDs' belongs to IUpdate2, not IUpdate  }  }

  • XML to Type - Quick way?

    - by MRFerocius
Team; How are you doing? Im breaking my head trying to do this that seems simple but I can't figure it out... Suppose I have this XML as a string: <calles> <calle> <nombre>CALLAO AV.</nombre> <altura>1500</altura> <longitud>-58.3918617027</longitud> <latitud>-34.5916734896</latitud> <barrio>Recoleta</barrio> </calle> </calles> And and have this Type I created to map that XML: public class Ubicacion { public string Latitud { get; set; } public string Longitud { get; set; } public string Nombre { get; set; } public string Altura { get; set; } public string Barrio { get; set; } public Ubicacion() { } } I need to take that XML file and create an object with those values... Does somebody know a quick way to do it? with C#? I have been trying this but is not working at all... XElement dir = XElement.Parse(text); Ubicacion informacion = from d in dir.Elements("calle"). select new Ubicacion { Longitud = d.Element("longitud").Value, Latitud = d.Element("latitud").Value, Altura = d.Element("altura").Value, Nombre = d.Element("nombre").Value, Barrio = d.Element("barrio").Value, }; return informacion.Cast<Ubicacion>(); } Any ideas? Thanks!!!

  • Possible to create an implicit cast for an anonymous type to a dictionary?

    - by Ralph
I wrote a method like this: using AttrDict = System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary<string, object>; using IAttrDict = System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Collections.Generic.KeyValuePair<string, object>>; static string HtmlTag(string tagName, string content = null, IAttrDict attrs = null) { var sb = new StringBuilder("<"); sb.Append(tagName); if(attrs != null) foreach (var attr in attrs) sb.AppendFormat(" {0}=\"{1}\"", attr.Key, attr.Value.ToString().EscapeQuotes()); if (content != null) sb.AppendFormat(">{0}</{1}>", content, tagName); else sb.Append(" />"); return sb.ToString(); } Which you can call like HtmlTag("div", "hello world", new AttrDict{{"class","green"}}); Not too bad. But what if I wanted to allow users to pass an anonymous type in place of the dict? Like HtmlTag("div", "hello world", new {@class="green"}); Even better! I could write the overload easily, but the problem is I'm going to have about 50 functions like this, I don't want to overload each one of them. I was hoping I could just write an implicit cast to do the work for me... public class AttrDict : Dictionary<string, object> { public static implicit operator AttrDict(object obj) { // conversion from anonymous type to AttrDict here } } But C# simply won't allow it: user-defined conversions to or from a base class are not allowed So what can I do?

  • DataContract Known Types - passing array

    - by Erup
Im having problems when passing an generic List, trough a WCF operation. In this case, there is a List of int. The example 4 is described here in MSDN. Note that in MSDN sample, is described: // This will serialize and deserialize successfully because the generic List is equivalent to int[], which was added to known types. Above, is the DataContract: [DataContract] [KnownType(typeof(int[]))] [KnownType(typeof(object[]))] public class AccountData { [DataMember] public object accNumber1; [DataMember] public object accNumber2; [DataMember] public object accNumber3; [DataMember] public object accNumber4; } In client side, Im calling the operation like this: DataTransfer.Service.AccountData data = new DataTransfer.Service.AccountData() { accNumber1 = 100, accNumber2 = new int[100], accNumber3 = new List<int>(), accNumber4 = new ArrayList() }; cService.AddAccounts(data); Also, here is the decorations of the generated AccountData obj (WCF proxy): [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Runtime.Serialization", "3.0.0.0")] [System.Runtime.Serialization.DataContractAttribute(Name="AccountData", Namespace="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/DataTransfer.Service")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(DataTransfer.Client.CustomerServiceReference.PurchaseOrder))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(DataTransfer.Client.CustomerServiceReference.Customer))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(int[]))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(object[]))]

  • Dependency Property on ValueConverter

    - by spoon16
I'm trying to initialize a converter in the Resources section of my UserControl with a reference to one of the objects in my control. When I try to run the application I get an XAML parse exception. XAML: <UserControl.Resources> <converter:PointConverter x:Key="pointConverter" Map="{Binding ElementName=ThingMap}" /> </UserControl.Resources> <Grid> <m:Map x:Name="ThingMap" /> </Grid> Point Converter Class: public class PointConverter : DependencyObject, IValueConverter { public Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.Map Map { get { return (Microsoft.Maps.MapControl.Map)GetValue(MapProperty); } set { SetValue(MapProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for Map. • WPF: ListView inside LIstViewItem: How to support button_click

    - by Bartek
Hi I have problem with using buttons that are placed in the itemtemplate of the listview which is placed in the itemtemplate of the outer listview. I'll try to simplify the code to show only the idea. I have a objects collection which looks like this: Main object contains a list of innerObjects. Every innerObject contains a list of objects that contain some strings. mainObject listItem innerListItem string string innerListItem string string listItem innerListItem string string I set a mainObject as a itemsSource to the ListView. This listView has a ItemTemplate. This ItemTemplate contains some buttons and inner ListView. Inner ListView also has the item template that contains a button (deleteButton). Pressing this deleteButton I want to delete items (innerListItem) for which this button was created. I can use such functionality when I have a sigle listView. private void clearAndList_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { DependencyObject dep = (DependencyObject)e.OriginalSource; while ((dep != null) && !(dep is System.Windows.Controls.ListViewItem)) { dep = VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(dep); } if (dep == null) { return; } ANDconditionsList andList = (ANDconditionsList)ConditionsList.ItemContainerGenerator.ItemFromContainer(dep); orConditionsList.RemoveConditionsSet(andList); } I can't use the same functionality because I can only use the name of the ConditionsList which is the mail listview. The idea is to find the innerlistview and use it instead of ConditionsList, however I don't know if it will work. If anyone have some samples concerning using listview in listview or how to operate the button in a different way please help me

  • Give WPF design mode default objects

    - by Janko R
In my application I have <Rectangle.Margin> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource XYPosToThicknessConverter}"> <Binding Path="XPos"/> <Binding Path="YPos"/> </MultiBinding> </Rectangle.Margin> The Data Context is set during runtime. The application works, but the design window in VS does not show a preview but System.InvalidCastException. That’s why I added a default object in the XYPosToThicknessConverter which is ugly. class XYPosToThicknessConverter : IMultiValueConverter { public object Convert(object[] values, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) { // stupid check to give the design window its default object. if (!(values[0] is IConvertible)) return new System.Windows.Thickness(3, 3, 0, 0); // useful code and exception throwing starts here // ... } } My Questions: What does VS/the process that builds the design window pass to XYPosToThicknessConverter and what is way to find it out by myself. How do I change my XAML code, so that the design window gets its default object and is this the best way to handle this problem? I’m using VS2010RC with Net4.0

  • Simple Android Binary Text Clock

    - by Hristo
Hello, I want to create a simple android binary clock but my application crashes. I use 6 textview fields: 3 for the decimal and 3 for the binary representation of the current time (HH:mm:ss). • Using Java Executor on AppEngine causes AccessControlException

    - by Drew
How do you get java.util.concurrent.Executor or CompletionService to work on Google AppEngine? The classes are all officially white-listed, but I get a runtime security error when trying to submit asynchronous tasks. Code: // uses the async API but this factory makes it so that tasks really // happen sequentially Executor executor = java.util.concurrent.Executors.newSingleThreadExecutor(); // wrap Executor in CompletionService CompletionService<String> completionService = new ExecutorCompletionService<String>(executor); final SomeTask someTask = new SomeTask(); // this line throws exception completionService.submit(new Callable<String>(){ public String call() { return someTask.doNothing("blah"); } }); // alternately, send Runnable task directly to Executor, // which also throws an exception executor.execute(new Runnable(){ public void run() { someTask.doNothing("blah"); } }); } private class SomeTask{ public String doNothing(String message){ return message; } } Exception: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission modifyThreadGroup) at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:323) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(AccessController.java:546) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(SecurityManager.java:532) at com.google.appengine.tools.development.DevAppServerFactory$CustomSecurityManager.checkPermission(DevAppServerFactory.java:166) at com.google.appengine.tools.development.DevAppServerFactory$CustomSecurityManager.checkAccess(DevAppServerFactory.java:191) at java.lang.ThreadGroup.checkAccess(ThreadGroup.java:288) at java.lang.Thread.init(Thread.java:332) at java.lang.Thread.(Thread.java:565) at java.util.concurrent.Executors$DefaultThreadFactory.newThread(Executors.java:542) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.addThread(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:672) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.addIfUnderCorePoolSize(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:697) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.execute(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:652) at java.util.concurrent.Executors$DelegatedExecutorService.execute(Executors.java:590) at java.util.concurrent.ExecutorCompletionService.submit(ExecutorCompletionService.java:152) This code works fine when run on Tomcat or via command-line JVM. However, it chokes in the AppEngine SDK Jetty container (tried with Eclipse plugin and the maven-gae-plugin). AppEngine is likely designed to not allow potentially dangerous programs to run, so I could see them completely disabling thread creation. However, why would Google allow you to create a class, but not allow you to call methods on it? White-listing java.util.concurrent is misleading. Is there some other way to do parallel/simultaneous/concurrent tasks on GAE?

  • Databinding in WinForms performing async data import

    - by burnside
I have a scenario where I have a collection of objects bound to a datagrid in winforms. If a user drags and drops an item on to the grid, I need to add a placeholder row into the grid and kick off a lengthy async import process. I need to communicate the status of the async import process back to the UI, updating the row in the grid and have the UI remain responsive to allow the user to edit the other rows. What's the best practice for doing this? My current solution is: binding a thread safe implementation of BindingList to the grid, filled with the objects that are displayed as rows in the grid. When a user drags and drops an item on to the grid, I create a new object containing the sparse info obtained from the dropped item and add that to the BindingList, disabling the editing of that row. I then fire off a separate thread to do the import, passing it the newly bound object I have just created to fill with data. The import process, periodically sets the status of the object and fires an event which is subscribed to by the UI telling it to refresh the grid to see the new properties on the object. Should I be passing the same object that is bound to the grid to the import process thread to operate on, or should I be creating a copy and merging back the changes to the object on the UI thread using BeginInvoke? Any problems or advice with this implementation? Thanks

  • Why I am getting a Heap Corruption Error?

    - by vaidya.atul
I am new to C++. I am getting HEAP CORRUPTION ERROR. Any help will be highly appreciated. Below is my code class CEntity { //some member variables CEntity(string section1,string section2); CEntity(); virtual ~CEntity(); //pure virtual function .. virtual CEntity* create()const =0; }; I derive CLine from CEntity as below class CLine:public CEntity { // Again some variables ... // Constructor and destructor CLine(string section1,string section2); CLine(); ~CLine(); CLine* Create() const; } // CLine Implementation CLine::CLine(string section1,string section2):CEntity(section1,section2){}; CLine::CLine(); CLine* CLine::create()const{return new CLine();} I have another class CReader which uses CLine object and populates it in a multimap as below class CReader { public: CReader(); ~CReader(); multimap<int,CEntity*>m_data_vs_entity; }; //CReader Implementation CReader::CReader() { m_data_vs_entity.clear(); }; CReader::~CReader() { multimap<int,CEntity*>::iterator iter; for(iter = m_data_vs_entity.begin();iter!=m_data_vs_entity.end();iter++) { CEntity* current_entity = iter->second; if(current_entity) delete current_entity; } m_data_vs_entity.clear(); } I am reading the data from a file and then populating the CLine Class. The map gets populated in a function of CReader class. Since CEntity has a virtual destructor, I hope the piece of code in CReader's destructor should work. In fact, it does work for small files but I get HEAP CORRUPTION ERROR while working with bigger files. If there is something fundamentally wrong, then, please help me find it, as I have been scratching my head for quit some time now. Thanks in advance and awaiting reply, Regards, Atul

  • Can't get SWT Display on Mac OS X.

    - by Mattias Holmqvist
I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and wan't to access the Display from the activator in an OSGi bundle. Below is the start method for my activator: @Override public void start(BundleContext context) throws Exception { ExecutorService service = Executors.newSingleThreadExecutor(); service.execute(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { Display display = Display.getDefault(); Shell shell = new Shell(display); Text helloText = new Text(shell, SWT.CENTER); helloText.setText("Hello SWT!"); helloText.pack(); shell.pack(); shell.open(); while (!shell.isDisposed()) { if (!display.readAndDispatch()) display.sleep(); } display.dispose(); } }); } Calling this code in a Windows environment works fine, but deploying on Mac OS X I get the following output: 2009-10-14 17:17:54.050 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x101620d20 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2009-10-14 17:17:54.081 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x100119240 of class NSCFNumber autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2009-10-14 17:17:54.084 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x1001024b0 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2009-10-14 17:17:54.086 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x7fff701d7f70 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2009-10-14 17:17:54.087 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x100113330 of class NSCFString autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2009-10-14 17:17:54.092 java[2010:10003] *** __NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x101624540 of class NSCFData autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking . . . I've used the -XstartOnFirstThread VM argument without any luck. I'm on 64-bit Cocoa but I've also tried 32-bit Cocoa. When trying on Carbon I get the following error: Invalid memory access of location 00000020 eip=9012337c When debugging into the Display class I can see that the Displays[] array only contains null references.

  • JACOB (Java/COM/ActiveX) - How to troubleshoot event handling?

    - by Youval Bronicki
    I'm trying to use JACOB to interact with a COM object. I was able to invoke an initialization method on the object (and to get its properties), but am not getting any events back. The code is quoted below. I have a sample HTML+Javascript page (running in IE) that successfully receives events from the same object. I'm considering the following options, but would appreciate any concrete troubleshooting ideas ... Send my Java program to the team who developed the COM object, and have them look for anything suspicious on their side (does the object have a way on knowing whether there's a client listening to its events, and whether they were successfully delivered?) Get into the native parts of JACOB and try to debug on that side. That's a little scary given that my C++ is rusty and that I've never programmed for Windows. public static void main(String[] args) { try { ActiveXComponent c = new ActiveXComponent( "CLSID:{********-****-****-****-************}"); // My object's clsid if (c != null) { System.out.println("Version:"+c.getProperty("Version")); InvocationProxy proxy = new InvocationProxy() { @Override public Variant invoke(String methodName, Variant[] targetParameters) { System.out.println("*** Event ***: " + methodName); return null; } }; DispatchEvents de = new DispatchEvents((Dispatch) c.getObject(), proxy); c.invoke("Init", new Variant[] { new Variant(10), //param1 new Variant(2), //param2 }); System.out.println("Wating for events ..."); Thread.sleep(60000); // 60 seconds is long enough System.out.println("Cleaning up ..."); c.safeRelease(); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { ComThread.Release(); } }

  • Help with Boost Spirit ASTs

I am writing a small tool for analyzing simple B Machine substitutions as part of a college research work. The code successfully parse test inputs of the form mySubst := var1 + var2. Running XSD.exe on my xml to generate C# class. • What's the strangest corner case you've seen in C# or .NET?

    - by Jon Skeet
I collect a few corner cases and brain teasers and would always like to hear more. The page only really covers C# language bits and bobs, but I also find core .NET things interesting too. For example, here's one which isn't on the page, but which I find incredible: string x = new string(new char[0]); string y = new string(new char[0]); Console.WriteLine(object.ReferenceEquals(x, y)); I'd expect that to print False - after all, "new" (with a reference type) always creates a new object, doesn't it? The specs for both C# and the CLI indicate that it should. Well, not in this particular case. It prints True, and has done on every version of the framework I've tested it with. (I haven't tried it on Mono, admittedly...) Just to be clear, this is only an example of the kind of thing I'm looking for - I wasn't particularly looking for discussion/explanation of this oddity. (It's not the same as normal string interning; in particular, string interning doesn't normally happen when a constructor is called.) I was really asking for similar odd behaviour. Any other gems lurking out there?
