• LaTex: why partially showing up references?

  The bib.style part may be the problem. If I do not reference to references, do they show up? I have listed all errors below, the file compiles so I don't know whether they are related to partially-showing-up-references. For example, work with many authors gets only one author listed. • Show WPF tooltip on disabled item only

  Just wondering if it is possible to show a WPF on a disabled item ONLY (and not when the item is enabled). I would like to give the user a tooltip explaining why an item is currently disabled. I have an IValueConverter to invert the boolean IsEnabled property binding. But it doesn't seem to work in this situation. The tooltip is show both when the item is enabled and disabled. So is is possible to bind a tooltip.IsEnabled property exclusively to an item's own !IsEnabled? • Blob in Java/Hibernate/sql-server 2005

  Hi, I'm trying to insert an HTML blob into our sql-server2005 database. i've been using the data-type [text] for the field the blob will eventually live in. i've also put a '@Lob' annotation on the field in the domain model. The problem comes in when the HTML blob I'm attempting to store is larger than 65536 characters. Its seems that is the caracter-limit for a text data type when using the @Lob annotation. Ideally I'd like to keep the whole blob in tact rather than chunk it up into multiple rows in the database. I appreciate any help or insight that might be provided. I also don't see and option to do this in the Label decorator code itself. So i need a custom Label decorator, or is there some other way i'm missing?

I use jquery to add them: $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testurl\">Test Url</label><br /><input name=\"testurl[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testurl_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); $("#fieldcontainer").append("<div><label for=\"testpath\">Test Path</label><br /><input name=\"testpath[]\" type=\"text\" id=\"testpath_1\" value=\"\" /></div>"); I can easily add a click handler to make those form fields appear. But how would I keep track of what form fields were already added? When multiple fields are selected, the appropriate number of input fields needs to be added to the fieldcontainer div. And if they are unselected, the input fields need to be removed again. I also need to retrieve the value from the options in the select list to add them as identifier in the added input fields...

• NetBeans Tips and Tricks

  I just saw an Eclipse tips & tricks post and was wondering if anyone had any tips & tricks for my IDE of choice: NetBeans. Here's a few I know and find to be useful: Removing a package: After you remove a package in NetBeans, it sticks around as a grayed-out package in your Project view. To get rid of that, switch to Files view and delete the directory. Alt-Insert (in Windows) opens up a Generate submenu at your cursor. A nice shortcut for quickly generating getters/setters (among other things). Selecting a chunk of code, right-clicking and then clicking "Refactor Introduce Method" will have NetBeans introduce a method, complete with arguments and return value. Of course you have to make sure the chunk of code only has one return value. Sometimes when you run a build and it crashes, the Java window sticks around at the bottom. I used to just click X until Windows let me End Task, but there's a nicer way to get rid of them. Click "Run Stop Build/Run" and NetBeans will close the window for you. It'll even let you close multiple applications at once. These may seem obvious to grizzled NetBeans developers, but I thought they might be useful for NetBeans newbs like me. Anyone else have any tips/tricks to share? Here are some from the comments: NetBeans allows for code templates. You can even add yours on the Code Templates tab under the Editor settings on the Options window. Some examples: Type sout and hit the tab key as a shorcut for System.out.println("") Type psvm and hit the tab key as a shorcut for public static void main(String args[]) {} Ctrl Shift C: Comments out the selected block of code. Alt Shift F: Formats the selected block of code. Ctrl E: Deletes current line. Ctrl Shift I: Fixes your imports, handy if you've just written a piece of code that needs a lot of packages imported.

• Using URL Routing for Web Forms and StopRoutingHandler for Favicon

  I have a website where I need to add a Favicon.ico. The site is written using ASP.NET 3.5 Web Forms with Routing. The issue is that the Favicon link always returns a page not found error. This is because the Routing does not know where the link for Favicon.ico should go to so it returns the Not Found page. I have tried to add a StopRoutingHandler for the the favicon but none of them seem to work. Below are the ones I have tried so far: routes.Add(new Route("MasterPages/{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler()));; routes.Add(new Route("{favicon}.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico", new StopRoutingHandler())); routes.Add(new Route("favicon.ico/{*pathInfo}", new StopRoutingHandler())); Does anyone know what I should be using? I believe that is related to the way the views are compiled, my understanding is that the columns are mapped by column indexes (1,2,3,4) as apposed to names. I though I would post it as a warning for people using select * in their sql and experiencing unexpected behaviour. Note: If you rebuild the view that uses select * each time after you modify the table it will work as expected

  I'm trying to create a DataGrid dynamically. Instead, I want to create the grid dynamically. However, it does appear that at the point of creation the values of theStore and layout are correct. Suggestions please, or indeed a working example of a programmic grid might solve the problem.

So if the server returns say 10 items, there should be 10 buttons and clicking on each button should call a different person.   I am trying to code this for hours and still couldn't do it. It keep tell me "Permission Denied". Here is what I am trying to accomplish. This pretty hard to explain please follow the example below. For example. domain111.com and domain222.com. When I am on domain111.com i click on the popup link , it will pop-up the domain111.com/popup.html then it redirect me to domain222.com. On this domain222.com it will redirect to couple pages before it redirect back to domain111.com with the result. I want to send the result from domain111.com to domain111.com. The process is like below. Domain111-popup to--Domain111-redirect--Domain222-redirect xxx Domain222 pages then redirect to---Domain111---SEND to parent window-Domain11 Here is my code.   Good morning, let's say Java has two kind of sockets... server sockets "ServerSocket" client sockets or just "Socket" ////so Simple ! Imagine the situation of two processes: X Client <-- Y Server The server process Y : has a "ServerSocket", that is listening to a TCP port The client process X : send a connection request through a -client type- "Socket" X ////so Simple ! then the accept() method (in server Y) returns a new client type "Socket", when it occurs, great the two Sockets get "interconected", so the -client socket- in client process, is connected with the -client socket- in the server process then (reading/writing in socket X is like reading/writing in socket Y, and viceversa. ) TWO CLIENT SOCKETS GET INTERCONECTED!! ////so Simple ! BUT... (there is always a But..) What if I create the two CLIENT sockets in same process, and I want to get them "interconected" ? ////mmm Complex =(... even posible? Let's say how to have TWO CLIENT SOCKETS GET INTERCONECTED WITHOUT using an intermediate ServerSocket ? I 've solved it.. by creating two threads for continuously reading A and writing B, and other for reading B and writng A... but I think could be a better way..(or should!) • Accessing a class's containing namespace from within a module

  I'm working on a module that, among other things, will add some generic 'finder' type functionality to the class you mix it into. The problem: for reasons of convenience and aesthetics, I want to include some functionality outside the class, in the same scope as the class itself. For example: class User include MyMagicMixin end # Should automagically enable: User.name('Bob') # Returns first user named Bob Users.name('Bob') # Returns ALL users named Bob User(5) # Returns the user with an ID of 5 Users # Returns all users I can do the functionality within these methods, no problem. And case 1 (User.name('Bob')) is easy. Cases 2–4, however, require being able to create new classes and methods outside User. The Module.included method gives me access to the class, but not to its containing scope. There is no simple "parent" type method that I can see on Class nor Module. (For namespace, I mean, not superclass nor nested modules.) The best way I can think to do this is with some string parsing on the class's #name to break out its namespace, and then turn the string back into a constant. But that seems clumsy, and given that this is Ruby, I feel like there should be a more elegant way. Does anyone have ideas? Or am I just being too clever for my own good?

• Validating User Input? C#

  Hi, in an assignment, I have designed a input validation loop in C#, and I would like it to be able to check for the correct input format. I'm not for sure, but I think my designed loop is not checking the type of input, just what char is entered. I know I could use a try-catch block, but shouldn't you only use exceptions for exceptional situations? This is not an exceptional situation, because I expect that the user would enter an incorrect value. Input validation is not part of my assignment, so the loop is in a homework assignment, but is not part of the homework assignment. Question: Is there a way I could redesign this loop so that it checks for valid input type as well? • Problem with Binding Multiple Objects on WPF

  Hi, I'm developing a user control called SearchBox, that will act as a replacer for ComboBox for multiple records, as the performance in ComboBox is low for this scenario, but I'm having a big binding problem. I have a base control with a DependencyProperty called SelectedItem, and my SearchControl shows that control so that the user can select the record. The SearchControl also has a DependencyProperty called SelectedItem on it, and it is being updated when the user selects something on the base control, but the UI, wich has the SearchControl, is not being updated. I used a null converter so that I could see if the property was updating, but it's not. • web browser become slow or no response after several ajax calls

  I'm totally newbie to jquery and ajax, my recently project is to help the representatives (reps) to manage customer quotations online. I have a page which displays all the quotations in a big table. I've managed to use ajax to fetch and display the quotations which associate to a particular rep after i click that rep's name. But the only problem is the speed of response. The first few clicks are ok and very smooth. But after several tries, the response become slow and I cant even scroll down the webpage, and later on the web browser craches....
