• Form Validation using Javascript inside PHP

  I have a simple problem but no matter what I try I can't see to get it to work. I have a form on a php page and I need to validate the qty value on my form so that it doesn't exceed $qty (value pulled from mySQL) and is not less than zero. Sounds easy--hmm wish it were..lol! I had it checking if the value was numeric and in my attempts to make this work I even broke that--not a good morning..lol!   I have a custom authentication HttpModule that is pretty strait forward. But I want it to run only for managed requests (and not for static ones). Asp.net MVC automatically adds configuration section for IIS7 web server: <system.webServer> <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" /> <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true"> <remove name="ScriptModule" /> <remove name="UrlRoutingModule" /> <add name="ScriptModule" preCondition="managedHandler" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule,..." /> <add name="UrlRoutingModule" type="System.Web.Routing.UrlRoutingModule,..." /> </modules> <handlers> ... </handlers> </system.webServer> When I add my own module I also set its preCondition="managedHandler", but since there's runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true" on parent <module> element my preCondition is ignored by design (as I read on MSDN).   In our VSTO Word 2010 Addin, we are trying to insert a RichTextControl after a given other ContentControl.   I'm trying to implement my own GenericIdentity implementation but keep receiving the following error when it attempts to load the views (I'm using asp.net MVC): System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException was unhandled by user code Message="Type is not resolved for member 'OpenIDExtendedIdentity,Training.Web, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'." Source="WebDev.WebHost" I've ended up with the following class: [Serializable] public class OpenIDExtendedIdentity : GenericIdentity { private string _nickName; private int _userId; public OpenIDExtendedIdentity(String name, string nickName, int userId) : base(name, "OpenID") { _nickName = nickName; _userId = userId; } public string NickName { get { return _nickName; } } public int UserID { get { return _userId; } } } In my Global.asax I read a cookie's serialized value into a memory stream and then use that to create my OpenIDExtendedIdentity object. I ended up with this attempt at a solution after countless tries of various sorts. It works correctly up until the point where it attempts to render the views. What I'm essentially attempting to achieve is the ability to do the following (While using the default Role manager from asp.net): User.Identity.UserID User.Identity.NickName ... etc. I've listed some of the sources I've read in my attempt to get this resolved.   Hi, I am using gwt and postgres for my project. On the front end i have few widgets whose data i am trying to save on to tables at the back-end when i click on "save project" button(this also takes the name for the created project). In the asynchronous callback part i am setting more than one table. But it is not sending the data properly. I am getting the following error: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: insert or update on table "entitytype" violates foreign key constraint "entitytype_pname_fkey" Detail: Key (pname)=(Project Name) is not present in table "project". But when i do the select statement on project table i can see that the project name is present.   I'm looking to create an SDL Tridion schema with a list of repeatable links while avoiding multiple fields per link. Hyperlink In a rich text field I have the following options for creating a hyperlink:* Component Anchor http:// mailto: Other When content authors create one of these hyperlinks, they have the option to select linked (visible) text as well as title and target attributes that function like typical HTML hyperlinks. "Richtext" means a Text field with Height of the Text Area = at least 2 rows with Allow Rich Text Formatting selected. Single Schema Field Link When creating a single schema field, I see these options: External Link (author options will include http://, mailto, Other) Multimedia Link Component Link (which can allow Multimedia Values) Current Ideas The best out-of-the-box (OOTB) setups I've found for this "list of links" is either offering: a single 2-line RTF with instructions to create a hyperlink (of any type) in that field separate fields for each type as well as additional fields for display name, target, and title (where the fields are assembled through template code), authors fill in only one of the fields (component link or external) Question Is there a way in the schema form designer, by updating the schema source, or through code to offer the same (RTF) hyperlink drop-down options, but in a single field? I could be missing something, but recognize this scenario isn't supported OOTB.

• Shared classes are build under VS2008 only but not under MSBuild.

  We share our classes between silverlight 3.0 client and server as is it described here. Everything works fine under Visual Studio 2008 only. Using msbuild with following command line parameters: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\msbuild.exe FoobarApplication.sln /t:Rebuild /p:Configuration=Release /p:Platform="Any CPU" we get following error: Class1.cs(28,54): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'WcfService' does not exist in the namespace 'Company.FoobarApplication' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Service References\geoServiceReference1\Reference.cs(24,81): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'WcfService' does not exist in the namespace 'Company.FoobarApplication' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Done Building Project "C:\work\bov-tmp\FoobarApplication\SilverlightClassLibrary3\SilverlightClassLibrary3.csproj" (Rebuild target(s)) -- FAILED. Done Building Project "C:\work\bov-tmp\FoobarApplication\FoobarApplication.sln" (Rebuild target(s)) -- FAILED. I found exactly the same question here. There are 4 workarounds there, I tried first 3 of them and those did not worked out. The 4-th workaround is not the acceptable solution. Any thoughts how to build the solution?

  I tried to encrypt an array then decrypt it back to string by calling a function, it's seem return the correct value if I does all encrypt and decrypt at once time in the function, however, if I return the encrypt value, then call the function again to decrypt it will return me some strange code. I used to not have the jquery dialog and just simple a <input type="Submit" value="Approve" /> that used to work fine I added the jquery dialog and I have something like this to initialize the dialog. $("#dialogApprove").dialog({ autoOpen: false, draggable: true, resizable: false, buttons: { "Cancel": function() { $(this).dialog("close") }, "Approve": function() { $("#UserApprove").submit(); $(this).dialog("close"); } } }); The $("#UserApprove").submit(); does not seem to be doing an ajax post. It comes back with just the text from the partial view returned in a new page. I dont want to use the jquery form plugin which has .ajaxSubmit(). Is there any other way to force an ajax post from the jquery dialog "approve" button?

• MySQL ORDER BY DESC is fast but ASC is very slow

  Hello, I'm completely stumped on this one. For some reason when I sort this query by DESC it's super fast, but if sorted by ASC it's extremely slow. This takes about 150 milliseconds: SELECT posts.id FROM posts USE INDEX (published) WHERE posts.feed_id IN ( 4953,622,1,1852,4952,76,623,624,10 ) ORDER BY posts.published DESC LIMIT 0, 50; This takes about 32 seconds: SELECT posts.id FROM posts USE INDEX (published) WHERE posts.feed_id IN ( 4953,622,1,1852,4952,76,623,624,10 ) ORDER BY posts.published ASC LIMIT 0, 50; The EXPLAIN is the same for both queries. id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 SIMPLE posts index NULL published 5 NULL 50 Using where I've tracked it down to "USE INDEX (published)". If I take that out it's the same performance both ways.   I'm transforming XML to an HTML document. In this document I want to embed XML markup for a node that was just transformed (the HTML document is a technical spec).   Hi I am using ObjectDataSource, ListView, CustomPaging If the total number of rows is too big, I got OutOfMemory exception, it seems that it caused by some array, I don't get it, because total number of rows should never make any array to be filled with elements, the page size do!! • Optimize GROUP BY&ORDER BY query

  I have a web page where users upload&watch videos. Last week I asked what is the best way to track video views so that I could display the most viewed videos this week (videos from all dates). Now I need some help optimizing a query with which I get the videos from the database. The relevant tables are this: video (~239371 rows) VID(int), UID(int), title(varchar), status(enum), type(varchar), is_duplicate(enum), is_adult(enum), channel_id(tinyint) signup (~115440 rows) UID(int), username(varchar) videos_views (~359202 rows after 6 days of collecting data, so this table will grow rapidly) videos_id(int), views_date(date), num_of_views(int) The table video holds the videos, signup hodls users and videos_views holds data about video views (each video can have one row per day in that table). I have this query that does the trick, but takes ~10s to execute, and I imagine this will only get worse over time as the videos_views table grows in size.   I had the bright idea of updating my perfectly working ASP.Net MVC 4 application to the MVC 5 via nuget, Everything compiles just fine but when I try to run the application I get the following yellow screen of death. I would like to mentioned that this encoding problem is not arise when I have less data (or HTML element). Means even at WebSphere, It is working fine when there are up to approximately 300 HTML element are render. When HTML elements over than certain number then web page is shown with encoded form. Moreover at Jboss 4.2.2 application is working fine up to long -long html element. I set content type as: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> This issue is reproducible at FF 3.6 and IE 7 and 8 browser. Can anyone help me out? Am I missing some setting?

  Hi, I want to use JPA (eclipselink) to get data from my database. The database is changed by a number of other sources and I therefore want to go back to the database for every find I execute. I have read a number of posts on disabling the cache but this does not seem to be working. Any ideas?
