  • Updating WordPress 3.6 to 3.7 via admin area on Nginx VPS hangs and fails

    So I have a few WordPress sites running on my VPS (Ubuntu 12.10, Nginx, php-fpm 5.4) The sites are all on seperate vhosts and use their own config files (albeit similar to each other) and vary in complexity. One is very simple and uses minimal plugins. When I try to update core on any site via the admin area I click the "Update Now" button (which should run the script in wp-admin/update-core.php the page hangs for a minute or two before going to a blank admin page (i.e. the wp-admin menu bars and header bar are there but there is no content in the body of the page). Visiting another admin page via the still menu bar reveals that the core has not been updated. Checking the error log I see this entry: 2013/10/29 23:20:48 [error] 9384#0: *5318248 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading upstream, client: --.---.--.---, server: www.mysite.com, request: "POST /wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-core-upgrade HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "mysite.com", referrer: "http://mysite.com/wp-admin/update-core.php" This didn't happen in the past on older updates and the rest of the site including updating plugins works fine. Any ideas? Could it be as simple as a time-out error? I find that unlikely as the server should munch though a wp upgrade in seconds.

  • Make HTML content area fit to viewport height?

    I just made this demo extracting out what I'm trying to accomplish: Autosize Main Content Area I want the pink/yellow area to act according to these rules: Minimum height is the size of its content (which is variable) IF content size is smaller than viewport size Otherwise minimum height is such that it adjusts to fill the window. Checking out the source to that demo, what am I missing? I feel like this is a pretty easy case that shouldn't require javascript. Any ideas?

I discovered the following resource on maxmind: http://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/api/php/timezone/ I suspect that I could use this with another api that provides the state that an area code belongs to.   • Resize text area to fit all text on load jquery

    I understand there has been a lot of discussion on this but I have yet to find a solution to fix my needs. Basically I need to autogrow a text area not when you type but on load. I am pulling in content from a database and dependant on the user's settings an overlay is produced over the text area, but upon doing this the text areas are not scrollable therefore I need to autosize these to show all the text. I have tried scrollHeight but this is not working great as there are multiple text boxes on the screen Thanks

    I have setAttribute(Qt::WA_OpaquePaintEvent,true) on a widget. From a mouseMoveEvent, I scroll the widget. Now what I need to do is to update the newly exposed area, but it seems that doing this from the paintevent function create an artifact because there is a delay created when the user keeps scrolling. In other words, the widget seems to have scrolled again between the call to scrool and the call or end of paintevent. For example, while the paint event is trying to draw the desired area, the widget is still scrolling

  • Can't Display Bitmap of Higher Resolution than CDC area

    Hi there dear gurus and expert coders. i am not gonna start with im a newbie and don't know much about image programming but unfortunately those are the facts :( I am trying to display an image from a bitmap pointer *ImageData which is of resolution 1392x1032. I am trying to draw that at an area of resolution or size 627x474. However, repeated trying doesnt seem to work. It works when I change the bitmap image I created from *ImageData width and height to resolution or size of around 627x474 I really do not know how to solve this after trying all possible solutions from various forums and google. pDC is a CDC* and memDC is a CDC initialized in an earlier method Anything uninitialized here was initialized in other methods. I tried the below way i set - in side the text area tag. <textarea rows="4" cols="50"> </textarea> and again i tried this way too which also did not work. <textarea rows="4" cols="50" location="Details"> </textarea> Any guidance would be appreciated to solve this I am setting the needed values from a formfeildfactory and these values are set by implementing the Vaadin Custom field class(in case it helps some more to identify)

  • How can I get Skype to not stay minimized in the task bar?

    Since two or three updates Skype insists taking up a taskbar slot for its main window (I set it to use the “Compact View”, but it applies to the default view as well). Since I don't need the main window most of the time since I have individual windows for the contacts I'm writing to this is ? a taskbar button wasted if no other Skype windows are open and ? still in the way when there are other windows open as it's a window I never need but still sometimes mis-click on when the thumbnails show up. Is there a way to send Skype to the Notification area again?

  • Warping Images using cvWarpPerspective Results in Some Parts of the images out of the viewable area

    Hi, I am trying to stich two images together. In order to do so I extracted sift features and find matches on the two images using this C implementation. http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~hess/index.html After that I found the homography matrix using the matched points. http://www.ics.forth.gr/~lourakis/homest/ But if I use this Homography Matrix in "cvWarpPerspective" function, some of the parts of the image goes out of the viewable area (negative corrdinates). To solve this I tried to calculate the bounding box first by piping the four corners of the image through Homography matrix. And move the initial image then warp it. But this caused the warping result to change. Is there any way for warping an image and keeping it in the viewable area? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance...

    I've just installed Visual Studio 2010 and have created a new MVC2 project so that I can learn about the changes and updates and have discovered an issue with areas that I'm not sure what to make of. I created a new EMPTY MVC2 project I right clicked the project and, from the context menu, added a new area called "Test" In the new test area, I added a controller called "Data". The code is: public class DataController : Controller { // // GET: /Test/Data/ public ActionResult Index() { Response.Write("Hi"); return new EmptyResult(); } } Now, I compile and call this address: http://localhost/mytest/test/data and get the output: Hi All good. Now I call this: http://localhost/mytest/data and get the same response! I thought routing was supposed to take care of this? Am I overlooking something? Or has the default project setup for MVC2 overlooked something?

I have a custom button on the IB with image and title and inside the code I use the methods : [aButton setTitleEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(60.0, -50.0, 0.0, 0.0)]; [aButton setImageEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(-10.0, 29.0, 0.0, 0.0)]; my problem is that the area that react to the touch events is very small and is on the top left of the button , another problem is that if I change my button size I have to calculate again manually the values for these 2 functions. Is there any easy way to do it?and if not how can I fix the touch area? thanks Gilad

    I'm working on a public website that was built using SharePoint (WSS). We need to add an area in the site where people will be able to purchase items with their credit cards and obviously the area needs to be secured. The website is using Form Based Authentication and the users need to stay logged in when they are moved back and forth from the https zone. I know how to enable SSL for a new web application / site collection but this isn't really an option for me as the website is already online and we don't want the whole thing to be secured. I am comfortable with the development of the webparts involved (payment module, shopping cart, etc.) but I can't really figure out how to create only certain https pages when the site collection is created. Can you have features that deploy pages that are secured? If so, how? Can you have a zone where SSL is enabled but where the users are redirected to and from without losing their authentication (FBA)? Thanks!

    So, I'm trying to implement an algorithm that takes in a number of rectangles as input and tries to pack them into a rectangle of minimum area. The rectangles can all be rotated by 90 degrees. I realize that this is similar to the bin packing problem, but I am unable to find a good algorithm that accounts for the rotation. I found a paper that discusses this at length here and while I understand the article itself, I was hoping to find something simpler. Any suggestions? -Edit- I think I misstated the problem earlier. We are given a number of rectangles, such that each can be rotated by 90 degrees. We need to find a rectangle that fits all the given rectangles such that no two rectangles overlap, while minimizing the area of the enclosing rectangle. The problem I face here is that we are asked to find the minimum, as opposed to being given an enclosing rectangle and checking if the given rectangles fit or something of that sort.
