  • Excel 2007 Conditional Formatting is not properly using custom formula provided

    In Excel 2007, I want to conditionally color a row if it is odd numbered and then vary the coloring depending on if a specific cell (in column E) in that row contains a number (green) or empty(red). E.g. if E15 has a value of 2 and E13 has no entry, I would expect row 15 to be green and row 13 to be red. My two formulas are: To color red: =IF((MOD(ROW(),2) = 1),NOT(ISNUMBER(INDIRECT("$E$"&ROW()))), FALSE) To color green: =IF((MOD(ROW(),2) = 1),ISNUMBER(INDIRECT("E"&ROW())), FALSE) If I paste these formulas into cells on the worksheet I get the expected values. For row 15 the "red" equation is false and the "green" equation is true. For Row 13 the "red" equation is true and the "green equation is false. However if I use these formulas in the conditional formating use formula feature, all of my rows are red, any thoughts?

  • Conditional Formatting of a Cell Based on Color Value in that Cell in Excel

    Is is possible to format a cell based on one component of the RGB value inside of it. For example, let's say I have 3 cells - A1, A2, A3. In A1, I want the cell color to be the shade of red anywhere between 0 and 255 of the number in the cell (so if it is 128, it should be like half red). For that given cell, the other values will just be 0, 0 (so in this case, zero green and zero blue). Is this possible?

    consider you are creating a raid5 device with three drives. mdadm --create /dev/md0 --leve=5 --raid-disk=3 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 After issuing this command , I can see the progress of md device creating using cat /proc/mdstat. During the progress ITSELF, can I create a file ssytem partition say ext2 on md0 device like: mkfs.ext2 /dev/md0. Actually I am able to create this and want to confirm whether doing this before 100% completion of md device creation is CORRECT?

    I have a rather annoying format I need to implement. There are 2 cells, both containing a date (cell A and B). B contains a date (24-06-2011). Cell B should be colored if cell A is between a date range, based on cell B. So if cell A lies between cell B - 7 days and cell B - 11 days, then it should be triggered. So with numbers: If B is 24-06-2011 then the range (which is not in any cell in the spreadsheet) is 13-06-2011 until 17-06-2011. If the date in cell A (let's say 14-06-2011) is in that range, cell B should be colored. Any ideas?

  • Formatting a disk for Macintosh using Linux

    I've been asked to move data from an old external hard drive to a new one, and to make the new one compatible with the Macintosh. (The old drive's USB connection has died, and I'm connecting to old the drive using a PC card that provieds an eSATA to the drive. The recipient's Macintosh doesn't have a PC card slot, so she can't access the old drive anymore. Hence, the new drive.) Naturally, I'm doing this data transfer using Linux. I've discovered that I can format the drive as HFS+ using mkfs.hfsplus from the hfsprogs package. But I need to know: do I need to do anything special with the partition table? Is there a special Macintosh partition table format that I need to format this disk to? If so, what tools can I use to get the right format for the partition table?

    After a copy/paste mishap in Microsoft Word 2007, I ended up with text looking like this: This line breaks up here continues here, and so on here, when it should all be in a single line without all the random whitespace. I confirmed that there are paragraph separators and extra whitespace between each line - probably due to hard-coded newlines in the original source. Is there a (preferrably easy) way to merge paragraphs in Microsoft Word? Is there a way to re-format a paragraph so that extraneous whitespace is removed? I can change the flush style, but the whitespace remains. I (obviously?) do not have any experience with Word, being more of a TeX person, but I have been searching Google and crawling the menus for a few hours and I have yet to find a solution...

    I'm currently using Vim as a lightweight IDE. I have NERDTree, bufexplorer, supertab, and ctags plugins which do almost everything I want. Only big thing missing for me is auto code formatting. I'm working with some messy PHP code which has inconsistent indenting and code formatting, ideally I could highlight the code I want formatted (whole files would be fine too) and run a command to tidy it. Does anybody have a nice solution for this working in Vim?

    Lets say I have fields: name, number, id I have a data file: name1|number1|id1|name2|number2|id2...etc I want to replace every 3rd pipe with a new line or '\n' so I get: name1|number1|id1 name2|number2|id2 I'm having no luck with awk or sed. I've tried the following, and variations of: awk '/"\|"/{c++;if(c==10){sub("\|","\n");c=0}}1' inputfile.txt sed 's/"|"/"\n"/2' inputfile.txt It tells me awk: syntax error near line 1 awk: illegal statement near line 1 awk: syntax error near line 1 awk: bailing out near line 1 Any help is greatly appreciated!     I have a text in an email on a windows box that looks something like this: 100 some random text 101 some more random text 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same I want to extract the numbers, i.e. the first word on each line. I've got a terminal running bash open on my Linux box... If these were in a text file, I would do this: awk '{print $1}' mytextfile.txt I would like to paste these in, and get my numbers out, without creating a temp file. my naive first attempt looked like this: $ awk '{print $1}' 100 some random text 100 101 some more random text 101 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same 102 103 The buffering of stdin and stdout make a hash of this. I wouldn't mind if stdin all printed first, followed by all of stdout; this is what would happen if I were to paste into 'sort' for example, but awk and sed are a different story. a little more thought gave me this: open two terminals. Create a fifo file. Read from the fifo on one terminal, write to it on another. This does in fact work, but I'm lazy. I don't want to open a second terminal. Is there a way in the shell that I can hide the text echoed to the screen when I'm passing it in to a pipe, so that I paste this: 100 some random text 101 some more random text 102 lots of random text, all different 103 lots of random text, all the same but see this? $ awk '{print $1}' 100 101 102 103

    Few weeks ago I tried Intellij and I found it really awesome. Now, at my project there's two programmers (including me) using Intellij and few other programmers gonna still be using Eclipse. Since this project is already very large and it gonna be growing a lot, we need to use compatible Code Style and Code Formatting between Intellij and Eclipse. We do not want to have problems when one user edit one file and reformat it before save. With Eclipse "alone" we used to have some exported configuration, and before anybody starts to work, the first step is just to import this configuration. We already tried to use External Code Formatter, but it didn't work on Intellij 9. So, I have a bunch of questions here: 1 - Is there any way to import eclipse formatting configuration on Intellij 9? 2 - Anybody could share their experience managing this kind of situation? Do you guys have any other suggestion to manage this situation?

    I've got several reports and they have been built with various formatting. Nothing huge just the header row is different between them. I'd like to pick a standard and just update the reports so they all look the same. This can be done on a textbox by textbox basis - setting the font, font color, font size and background color. It seems like I should be able to select more than one textbox and set the formatting on them all at once but the "textbox properties" item is disabled when I've selected more than one. Any thoughts?

I found this, but it's an Eclipse plugin (I'm a NetBeans user), and cannot automatically format code, which is the most important feature I'm after.
