    Hi, I am brand stinking new to jquery and attempting to have a "Services" page for a tech website I am working on. I am having trouble with different services opening the same info in the window. Basically I am using the code straight from the demo. Any ideas on how to have multiple windows in the same page? Thanks!

  • jQuery .val Enigma between two input boxes

    I'm trying to get it so that if I move a red div-square around the screen using jQuery UI and jQuery, then an input field updates with the position of the div. I got that working with a simple .val. But, it's hard to explain why, but I need to make it so that when I move the square, it updates my input box, and when the input box value is changed, another input box reflects the new value of the old input box. Do I make any sense, coz I'm confusing myself :). I made a jsfiddle, so perhaps it'll make more sense there. If you move the red square, then the input box directly above it updates, but the input box above that does not, even though it is programmed to reflect the value of the input box below itself. P.S. Is this specific to only jQuery, or is this problem present in all of JavaScript. Thanks! http://jsfiddle.net/xmCsq/27/

  • JQuery Modal Boxes and Iframe

    I've been using Simple Modal and i feel it doesn't live up to what i need at the moment. Is there a Modal Box that supports loading external files and allows those external files to close the modal box and redirect the parent page to some url. An example of what i want to do. You have a list of users, you could click "Add user" and a Modal Box with the form pops up, you fill that in and submit it. That would close the box and reload the user list page so you would see the user in the list. Then you could click "Edit user" and a Modal Box with the user info filled in the form fields would pop up and you could edit, submit and it would close and refresh. I know this can be done if i have the user info form as a hidden div for each user but this will not scale well and it is a lot of overhead data. I found some code about this on Google Code but just can't get it to work (possibly different simple modal version I am willing to change to another modal box tool also. UPDATE: Do either Thickbox or Fancybox support being closed from a child IFrame element?

I keep getting an repeated login box prompt, and it appears that it has to do with the Themes images and the CSS style sheets.     Hi, I having problems with re-checking some checkboxes after and ajax call updates a table. I have a table of what the project calls 'shares'. I want to: 1) check for and save any checked shares to an array 2) Do my ajax call to update the table of shares 3) Re-check any there we checked before the ajax update. My code is not working and I can't see why? Any tips, help or advise much appreciated. // Array to hold our checked share ids var savedShareIDs = new Array(); // Add checked share ids into array $("input:checkbox[name=share_ids]:checked").each(function() { savedShareIDs.push($(this).val()); }); // Do ajax update Dajaxice.pagination_shares('Dajax.process',{'id':1, 'page':1}) // Re-check any that were checked before ajax update $("input:checkbox[name=share_ids]").each(function() { if ( $.inArray( $(this).val(), savedShareIDs) > -1 ) { $(this).attr('checked',true) } }); The problem is the checkboxes are not checking. What method would one use to populate the drop down list? Since the data is not contained within the Model (It could be contained in the Model) should we be using Temp/View data? A HTML Helper? What would be the ideal way to achieve this.

    Hi there, I'm creating a set of input fields and using javascript's .style.backgroundColor = "red" to change the colour of any invalid fields. In Chrome, there is no problem. However, in Firefox, as soon as I touch the backgroundColor (even if I set it to white) then I get these strange shadow effects. I have a set of tabs and on top of the tabs is a set of checkboxes ; each checkbox 'corresponds' to a tab. What I need is to be able to activate/deactivate each checkbox and have its corresponding tab (and the tab's content) hide/display.     I am having the hardest time trying to figure out this (should be) simple css: Website is here: http://mibsoftware.us/fct/index.php I'm simply trying to get my #leftcolumn and #maincolumn to be inside the #content_container, yet whatever I'm doing isn't working at all. I'd like for the #content_container to be a dynamic height since the height of #leftcolumn and #maincolumn change depending on the page you are on. From the framework of my css it should work fine, so I must be missing something in my .css file declaring these divs. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this will be a great learning experience for me.

  • Why do the Escape and Enter keys not always do the right thing in dialog boxes?

    Why is it that when a dialog pops up, the Escape key doesn't always cancel it and the Enter key doesn't always press the default button? Shouldn't this be a standard across all dialog boxes in all applications? I have gotten into the habit of pressing Escape to cancel a dialog and Enter to confirm it, but applications (and especially KDE, GNOME and Unity in many many cases) seem to ignore my wishes. What is the problem? Is consitency too much to ask?
