  • Using one mixin from LESS within another mixin

    - by user1165984
    I am trying to use a mix that calculates the base line height in another that contains my base font styles. Each time I try to compile, I get an error. Here is an example. .lineHeight(@sizeValue){ @remValue: @sizeValue; @pxValue: (@sizeValue * 10); line-height: ~"@{pxValue}px"; line-height: ~"@{remValue}rem"; } .baseFont(@weight: normal, @size: 14px, @lineHeight: (.lineHeight(2.1)) { font-family: @fontFamily; font-size: @size; font-weight: @weight; line-height: @lineHeight; } The error is: TypeError: Cannot call method 'charAt' of undefined at getLocation (/Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:212:34) at new LessError (/Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:221:19) at Object.toCSS (/Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:385:31) at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/bin/lessc:107:28 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:434:40 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:94:48 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/index.js:116:17 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:434:40 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/parser.js:94:48 at /Applications/CodeKit.app/Contents/Resources/engines/less/lib/less/index.js:116:17

  • Java Bucket Sort on Strings

    - by Michael
    I can't figure out what would be the best way to use Bucket Sort to sort a list of strings that will always be the same length. An algorithm would look like this: For the last character position down to the first: For each word in the list: Place the word into the appropriate bucket by current character For each of the 26 buckets(arraylists) Copy every word back to the list I'm writing in java and I'm using an arraylist for the main list that stores the unsorted strings. The strings will be five characters long each. This is what I started. It just abrubdly stops within the second for loop because I don't know what to do next or if I did the first part right. ArrayList<String> count = new ArrayList<String>(26); for (int i = wordlen; i > 0; i--) { for (int j = 0; i < myList.size(); i++) myList.get(j).charAt(i) } Thanks in advanced.

  • Invert a string: Recursion vs iteration in javascript

    - by steweb
    Hi all, one month ago I've been interviewed by some google PTO members. One of the questions was: Invert a string recursively in js and explain the running time by big O notation this was my solution: function invert(s){ return (s.length > 1) ? s.charAt(s.length-1)+invert(s.substring(0,s.length-1)) : s; } Pretty simple, I think. And, about the big-o notation, I quickly answered O(n) as the running time depends linearly on the input. - Silence - and then, he asked me, what are the differences in terms of running time if you implement it by iteration? I replied that sometimes the compiler "translate" the recursion into iteration (some programming language course memories) so there are no differences about iteration and recursion in this case. Btw since I had no feedback about this particular question, and the interviewer didn't answer "ok" or "nope", I'd like to know if you maybe agree with me or if you can explain me whether there could be differences about the 2 kind of implementations. Thanks a lot and Regards!

  • Problem with Restlet on GAE

    - by Leaf
    I'm trying to implement a calculator web service on GAE using Java Restlets... it works perfectly fine on localhost but when I upload my project to the Google App Engine everytime I try the web service link it says the link is broken. Here's the code I used: public Restlet createInboundRoot() { // Create a router Restlet that routes each call to a // new instance of HelloWorldResource. Router router = new Router(getContext()); Restlet restlet = new Restlet() { public void handle(Request request, Response response) { // Print the requested URI path String parameters = request.getResourceRef().getRemainingPart(); String message; if(parameters.charAt(0)=='?'){ message = "" + Calculator.calculate(parameters.substring(1)); } else { message = ""; } response.setEntity(message, MediaType.TEXT_PLAIN); } }; // Defines only one route router.attachDefault(restlet); return router; } The Application it's on is mapped to the /calcservice but as I said when I upload to GAE it comes back with a broken link error. I'm developing on Eclipse 3.4 and I'm wondering if there are any parameters I have to change to include the Restlet classes.

  • system out output for double numbers in a java program

    - by Nikunj Chauhan
    I have a program where I am generating two double numbers by adding several input prices from a file based on a condition. String str; double one = 0.00; double two = 0.00; BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(myFile)); while((str = in.readLine()) != null){ if(str.charAt(21) == '1'){ one += Double.parseDouble(str.substring(38, 49) + "." + str.substring(49, 51)); } else{ two += Double.parseDouble(str.substring(38, 49) + "." + str.substring(49, 51)); } } in.close(); System.out.println("One: " + one); System.out.println("Two: " + two); The output is like: One: 2773554.02 Two: 6.302505836000001E7 Question: None of the input have more then two decimals in them. The way one and two are getting calculated exactly same. Then why the output format is like this. What I am expecting is: One: 2773554.02 Two: 63025058.36 Why the printing is in two different formats ? I want to write the outputs again to a file and thus there must be only two digits after decimal.

  • Swt file dialog too much files selected?

    - by InsertNickHere
    Hi there, the swt file dialog will give me an empty result array if I select too much files (approx. 2500files). The listing shows you how I use this dialog. If i select too many sound files, the syso will show 0. Debugging tells me, that the files array is empty in this case. Is there any way to get this work? FileDialog fileDialog = new FileDialog(mainView.getShell(), SWT.MULTI); fileDialog.setText("Choose sound files"); fileDialog.setFilterExtensions(new String[] { new String("*.wav") }); Vector<String> result = new Vector<String>(); fileDialog.open(); String[] files = fileDialog.getFileNames(); for (int i = 0, n = files.length; i < n; i++) { if( !files[i].contains(".wav")) { System.out.println(files[i]); } StringBuffer stringBuffer = new StringBuffer(); stringBuffer.append(fileDialog.getFilterPath()); if (stringBuffer.charAt(stringBuffer.length() - 1) != File.separatorChar) { stringBuffer.append(File.separatorChar); } stringBuffer.append(files[i]); stringBuffer.append(""); String finalName = stringBuffer.toString(); if( !finalName.contains(".wav")) { System.out.println(finalName); } result.add(finalName); } System.out.println(result.size()) ;

  • Project Euler #119 Make Faster

    - by gangqinlaohu
    Trying to solve Project Euler problem 119: The number 512 is interesting because it is equal to the sum of its digits raised to some power: 5 + 1 + 2 = 8, and 8^3 = 512. Another example of a number with this property is 614656 = 28^4. We shall define an to be the nth term of this sequence and insist that a number must contain at least two digits to have a sum. You are given that a2 = 512 and a10 = 614656. Find a30. Question: Is there a more efficient way to find the answer than just checking every number until a30 is found? My Code int currentNum = 0; long value = 0; for (long a = 11; currentNum != 30; a++){ //maybe a++ is inefficient int test = Util.sumDigits(a); if (isPower(a, test)) { currentNum++; value = a; System.out.println(value + ":" + currentNum); } } System.out.println(value); isPower checks if a is a power of test. Util.sumDigits: public static int sumDigits(long n){ int sum = 0; String s = "" + n; while (!s.equals("")){ sum += Integer.parseInt("" + s.charAt(0)); s = s.substring(1); } return sum; } program has been running for about 30 minutes (might be overflow on the long). Output (so far): 81:1 512:2 2401:3 4913:4 5832:5 17576:6 19683:7 234256:8 390625:9 614656:10 1679616:11 17210368:12 34012224:13 52521875:14 60466176:15 205962976:16 612220032:17

  • Help with string equality in Java

    - by annayena
    The following function accepts 2 strings, the 2nd (not 1st) possibly containing *'s (asterisks). An * is a replacement for a string (empty, 1 char or more), it can appear appear (only in s2) once, twice, more or not at all, it cannot be adjacent to another * (ab**c), no need to check that. public static boolean samePattern(String s1, String s2) It returns true if strings are of the same pattern. It must be recursive, not use any loops, static or global variables. Also it's prohibited to use the method equals in the String class. Can use local variables and method overloading. Can use only these methods: charAt(i), substring(i), substring(i, j), length(). Examples: 1: TheExamIsEasy; 2: "The*xamIs*y" ---> true 1: TheExamIsEasy; 2: "Th*mIsEasy*" ---> true 1: TheExamIsEasy; 2: "*" ---> true 1: TheExamIsEasy; 2: "TheExamIsEasy" ---> true 1: TheExamIsEasy; 2: "The*IsHard" ---> FALSE I am stucked on this question for many hours now! • Comparing strings with user-created string class

    - by meepz
    Basically, I created my own string class, mystring.h and mystring.c. What I want to do is write a function that compares two "strings" and then returns 1 first word is larger than the second, the opposite if word 2 is larger than word 1, and 0 if the two words are equal. What I have so far is this: int compareto(void * S1, void * S2){ String s1 = (String S1); String s2 = (String S2); int i, cs1 = 0, cs2 = 0; //cs1 is count of s1, cs2 is count of s2 while(s1->c[i] != '\0'){ //basically, while there is a word if(s1->c[i] < s2->c[i]) // if string 1 char is less than string 2 char cs2++; //add to string 2 count else (s1->c[i] > s2->c[i]) //vice versa cs1++; i++; } for my return I basically have if(cs1>cs2){ return 1; } else if(cs2 > cs1){ return 2; } return 0; here is mystring.h typedef struct mystring { char * c; int length; int (*sLength)(void * s); char (*charAt)(void * s, int i); int (*compareTo)(void * s1, void * s2); struct mystring * (*concat)(void * s1, void * s2); struct mystring * (*subString)(void * s, int begin, int end); void (*printS)(void * s); } string_t; typedef string_t * String; This does what I want, but only for unspecified order. What I want to do is search through my linked list for the last name. Ex. I have two entries in my linked list, smith and jones; Jones will be output as greater than smith, but alphabetically it isnt. (I'm using this to remove student entries from a generic link list I created) Any suggestions, all of my google searches involve using the library, so I've had no luck)

  • find words in a hashset or treeset?

    - by icelated
    I am piping in a file and storing it into a treeset. I am trying to count unique words.. I am placing words that i dont want into a hashset. "a","the", "and" I want to check to see if the file contains those words, before i place them into the TreeSet.. i know i need some sort of if(word == find) ? i just dont know how to do it.. Sorry about formatting. its hard to get it correct after you paste. this is what i have.. import java.util.Scanner; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.TreeSet; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.HashSet; public class Project1 { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in); String word; String grab; int count = 0; int count2 =0; int count3 =0; int count4 =0; int number; TreeSet<String> a = new TreeSet<String>(); HashSet<String> find = new HashSet<String>(); System.out.println("Project 1\n"); find.add("a"); find.add("and"); find.add("the"); while (sc.hasNext()) { word = sc.next(); word = word.toLowerCase(); for(int i = 0; i < word.length(); i++ ) { if(Character.isDigit(word.charAt(i))) { count3++; } } //if( a.contains("a") ) //|| word.matches("and") || word.matches("the")|| word.contains("$")) //{ // count2++; // } a.add(word); if (word.equals("---")) { break; } } System.out.println("a size"); System.out.println(a.size()); // count = count2 - count; System.out.println("unique words"); System.out.println(a.size() - count2 - count3); System.out.println("\nbye..."); } }
