  • The requested operation has failed! (cannot find answer)

    - by Geoff
    I know this problem is plastered all over the web but I've been searching and trying for hours with no luck. Can someone please give me some help? I originally installed Apache 2.0.64 along with PHP 5.2.17, I went through all of the steps in this tutorial with no luck, I found that the culprit was the LoadModule line. After looking on the internet I found a whole bunch of stuff but a lot of it was referring to PHP 5 and Apache 2.2. Since there seemed to be more info on apache 2.2 I removed apache 2.0.64 and installed 2.2. I added the code to LoadModule in the conf file but I got the same problem. I then followed the steps in this tutorial because it was slightly different with some things I hadn't tried yet but still I get the same problem. If I comment out LoadModule... it works fine but otherwise I get "The requested operation has failed!". This is what I ended up keeping since it works only having to comment one line. LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/php5apache2_2.dll" <IfModule mod_php5.c> AddType application/x-httpd-php .php PHPIniDir "c:/php" DirectoryIndex index.php </IfModule> EDIT: How can I stop getting this error message? UPDATE: Also, please note that I took note of the message in the PHP site that stated if PHP 5.2 was to be run with Apache to use the VC6 and not VC9. I had VC9 so I replaced it with VC6, the file is labeled php-5.2.17-nts-Win32-VC6-x86.zip

  • Questions every good PHP Developer should be able to answer

    - by Rachel
    I was going through Questions every good .Net developer should be able to answer and was highly impressed with the content and approach of this question and so in the same spirit, I am asking this question for PHP Developer. What questions do you think should a good PHP programmer be able to respond to? EDIT : I am marking this question as community wiki as it is not user specific and it aims to serve programming community at large. Looking forward for some amazing responses. NOTE : Please answer questions too as suggested in the comments so that people could learn something new too regarding the language.

  • how to exit recursive math formula and still get an answer

    - by calccrypto
    i wrote this python code, which from wolfram alpha says that its supposed to return the factorial of any positive value (i probably messed up somewhere), integer or not: from math import * def double_factorial(n): if int(n) == n: n = int(n) if [0,1].__contains__(n): return 1 a = (n&1) + 2 b = 1 while a<=n: b*=a a+= 2 return float(b) else: return factorials(n/2) * 2**(n/2) *(pi/2)**(.25 *(-1+cos(n * pi))) def factorials(n): return pi**(.5 * sin(n*pi)**2) * 2**(-n + .25 * (-1 + cos(2*n*pi))) * double_factorial(2*n) the problem is , say i input pi to 6 decimal places. 2*n will not become a float with 0 as its decimals any time soon, so the equation turns out to be pi**(.5 * sin(n*pi)**2) * 2**(-n + .25 * (-1 + cos(2*n*pi))) * double_factorial(loop(loop(loop(...))))) how would i stop the recursion and still get the answer? ive had suggestions to add an index to the definitions or something, but the problem is, if the code stops when it reaches an index, there is still no answer to put back into the previous "nests" or whatever you call them

  • Clarity is important, both in question and in answer.

    clarity is important ... i'm often reminded of the Clouseau movie in which Peter Sellers as Chief Inspector Clouseau asks a hotel clerk "Does your dog bite?" ... the clerk answers "no" ... after Clouseau has been bitten by the dog, he looks at the hotel clerk who says "That's not my dog".  Clarity is important, both in question and in answer. i've been a member of forums.asp.net since 2008 ... like many of my peers at forums.asp.net, i've answered my fair share of questions. • Using javascript, show a certain amount of divs based on an answer

    - by Adam
    I'm building a form that first asks if you have 'foo'. If the answer is 'Yes', a div appears and asks 'How many foo do you have'? Based on the quantity answered, I'd like to show only that many divs. Thus if the user answers 1, only the first div will show. If they answer three, the first three will show. I have it set so that if the user answers no, the question of the amount remains hidden, but if they answer yes, they would be prompted for the quantity. This is what I've got so far... <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(window).load(function() { $('#amt_of_foo,.foo_panels').hide(); }); $('#yes_foo').click(function() { $('#amt_of_foo').show(); }); $('#no_foo').click(function() { $('.foo_panels,#amt_of_foo').hide(); }); }); </script> </head> <body> <ul> <li> <div class="panel section_panel"> <h2>Questions About Your Foo</h2> <span>Do you have foo?:</span> <input type="radio" name="foo" id="no_foo" /> No <br /> <input type="radio" name="foo" id="yes_foo" /> Yes:</span></span> <span id="amt_of_foo"> <span>How many foo do you have?:</span> <span><input id="qty_of_foo" type="text" size="5" /> </span> </span> </div> </li> <!--answered yes to foo, and entered amount--> <div class="foo_panels"> <li> <li> <div class="panel foo_1"> <h1>First foo's information</h1> <span>Foo name:&nbsp;<input type="text" size="20" /></span> </div> </li> <li> <div class="panel foo_2"> <h1>Second foo's information</h1> <span>Foo name:&nbsp;<input type="text" size="20" /></span> </div> </li> <li> <div class="panel foo_3"> <h1>Third foo's information</h1> <span>Foo name:&nbsp;<input type="text" size="20" /></span> </div> </li> </div> <!--answered no to foo--> <li> <div class="panel"> <h1>Next Question, if no foo</h1> </div> </li> </ul> The ul is used for a jQuery 'slider' plugin. the 'panel' class is used for global css.

  • no more hitcollision at 1 life

    - by user1449547
    So I finally got my implementation of lives fixed, and it works. Now however when I collide with a ghost when I am at 1 life, nothing happens. I can fall to my death enough times for a game over. from what i can tell the problem is that hit collision is not longer working, because it does not detect a hit, I do not fall. the question is why? update if i kill myself fast enough it works, but if i play for like 30 seconds, it stops the hit collision detection on my ghosts. platforms and springs still work. public class World { public interface WorldListener { public void jump(); public void highJump(); public void hit(); public void coin(); public void dying(); } public static final float WORLD_WIDTH = 10; public static final float WORLD_HEIGHT = 15 * 20; public static final int WORLD_STATE_RUNNING = 0; public static final int WORLD_STATE_NEXT_LEVEL = 1; public static final int WORLD_STATE_GAME_OVER = 2; public static final Vector2 gravity = new Vector2(0, -12); public Hero hero; public final List<Platform> platforms; public final List<Spring> springs; public final List<Ghost> ghosts; public final List<Coin> coins; public Castle castle; public final WorldListener listener; public final Random rand; public float heightSoFar; public int score; public int state; public int lives=3; public World(WorldListener listener) { this.hero = new Hero(5, 1); this.platforms = new ArrayList<Platform>(); this.springs = new ArrayList<Spring>(); this.ghosts = new ArrayList<Ghost>(); this.coins = new ArrayList<Coin>(); this.listener = listener; rand = new Random(); generateLevel(); this.heightSoFar = 0; this.score = 0; this.state = WORLD_STATE_RUNNING; } private void generateLevel() { float y = Platform.PLATFORM_HEIGHT / 2; float maxJumpHeight = Hero.hero_JUMP_VELOCITY * Hero.hero_JUMP_VELOCITY / (2 * -gravity.y); while (y < WORLD_HEIGHT - WORLD_WIDTH / 2) { int type = rand.nextFloat() > 0.8f ? • Correct answer will not output

    - by rEgonicS
    I made a program that returns the sum of all primes under 2 million. I really have no idea what's going on with this one, I get 142891895587 as my answer when the correct answer is 142913828922. It seems like its missing a few primes in there. I'm pretty sure the getPrime function works as it is supposed to. I used it a couple times before and worked correctly than. The code is as follows: vector<int> getPrimes(int number); int main() { unsigned long int sum = 0; vector<int> primes = getPrimes(2000000); for(int i = 0; i < primes.size(); i++) { sum += primes[i]; } cout << sum; return 0; } vector<int> getPrimes(int number) { vector<bool> sieve(number+1,false); vector<int> primes; sieve[0] = true; sieve[1] = true; for(int i = 2; i <= number; i++) { if(sieve[i]==false) { primes.push_back(i); unsigned long int temp = i*i; while(temp <= number) { sieve[temp] = true; temp = temp + i; } } } return primes; }

  • Ghost activity in android

    - by Ari
    My application works as follow: On start I have some AppStartActivity which does something, finishes itself and starts MainActivity if user is logged in or LoginActivity otherwise. LoginActivity finishes itself and starts MainActivity when user log in successfully. On MainActivity I have SomeActivity from which user can logout. Activity stack for this situation is MainActivity > SomeActivity. It is correct, back button works well. When user click LogOut button there is a problem. I need to show LoginActivity but I don't want to have MainActivity and SomeActivity on activity stack anymore. I could resolve this problem if I wouldn't finish AppStartActivity. I could go back then with flag FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP and it would work well. But here is a problem with back button. I don't want user to come back to this activity with back button. I want it to exit app instead. UPDATED: Flags FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK and FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TASK would be best, but I need it working in API level 9.

  • WPF DataGrid adding extra "ghost" row

    - by hs2d
    Hei, In my application i'm using DataGrid to show some data. To get everything working with threading i'm using AsyncObservableCollection as DataContext of DataGrid. When my application starts it looks for files in some folders and updates AsyncObservableCollection. Now here's where things go bad, when i start the application for some reason i get 2 rows with same data in DataGrid even if there is one item in collection. If i add a delay(Thread.Sleep() 50ms minimum) before executing loading files method then DataGrid show everything correctly (no extra row). Have anybody encountered something similar or is there something else i should try? Thanks in advance!

  • Sentence recognition and ability to answer with another sentence

    - by terabytest
    Hi. I'm looking into sentence recognition to make a program that should play voice clips from the game Team Fortress 2. I have .wav files and text files containing the transcription for every sound. What I'd like to make is a system that makes two characters of the game talk to each other (trough playing sound clips), and each one recognises the sense of what the other is saying and tries to answer with another of the available sound clips (trying its best to fit the sense of what it's trying to say) Is that possible in any way?

  • What will be correct answer to "why is NoSQL faster than SQL" on interview?

    - by Cynede
    It's just nonsense for me personally. I can't see any performance boost by using NoSQL instead of SQL. Maybe SQL over NoSQL, yes but not in that way. I think that if I answer "I have no idea" or something like that it will be bad answer because this doesn't really look like a fake-question, it's a serious question on interview but how should be looking correct answer on this question? Or am I missing something about NoSQL?

For example, consider array A such that: A[0] = 3 A[1] = 2 A[2] = -6 A[3] = 3 A[4] = 1 For example (0, 1) is a slice of A that has sum A[0] + A[1] = 5. This is the maximum sum of A. You can perform a single swap operation in array A. This operation takes two indices I and J, such that 0 = I = J < N, and exchanges the values of A[I] and A[J]. To goal is to find the maximum sum you can achieve after performing a single swap. For example, after swapping elements 2 and 4, you will get the following array A: A[0] = 3 A[1] = 2 A[2] = 1 A[3] = 3 A[4] = -6 After that, (0, 3) is a slice of A that has the sum A[0] + A[1] + A[2] + A[3] = 9. This is the maximum sum of A after a single swap. Write a function: class Solution { public int solution(int[] A); } that, given a non-empty zero-indexed array A of N integers, returns the maximum sum of any slice of A after a single swap operation. For example, given: A[0] = 3 A[1] = 2 A[2] = -6 A[3] = 3 A[4] = 1 the function should return 9, as explained above. and my code is :- import java.math.*; class Solution { public int solution(int[] A) { if(A.length == 1) return A[0]; else if (A.length==2) return A[0]+A[1]; else{ int finalMaxSum = A[0]; for (int l=0 ; l<A.length ; l++){ for (int k = l+1 ; k<A.length ; k++ ){ int [] newA = A; int temp = newA[l]; newA [l] = newA[k]; newA[k]=temp; int maxSum = newA[0]; int current_max = newA[0]; for(int i = 1; i < newA.length; i++) { current_max = Math.max(A[i], current_max + newA[i]); maxSum = Math.max(maxSum, current_max); } finalMaxSum = Math.max(finalMaxSum , maxSum); } } return finalMaxSum; } } } i don't know what's the wrong with it ??

  • How to programmatically answer "Yes" to WebBrowser control security alert

    - by ih8ie8
    I am using WebBrowser control to programmatically access a single website, but whenever I login, I receive this certificate security alert: Since I trust that website and since I need to programmatically automate the login as well, this dialog box gets in the way. I searched SO for a solution and found a question similar to mine, but the accepted answer does not work! I defined a static member in the form that contains the WebControl: public static bool ValidateServerCertificate(object sender, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; } In my form's constructor I added: ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate); But that didn't get rid of the certificate security alert. Is there any way to get rid of this warning? Is there an IE equivalent to Firefox's Add Security Exception??? Note: The owner's certificate works perfectly fine (without exhibiting this security alert) with standalone browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari). It only exhibits the problem with the WebBroswer control.

  • Is FastCGI still a right answer?

    - by Ted Henry
    FastCGI is old but it still seems like it must be the right answer in some cases. It seems like the preferred deployment of Perl/Catalyst web applications is with FastCGI. FastCGI was popular with Rails but seems to no longer be. (Why?) The Java world doesn't seem to have anything to do with FastCGI. Is something like Tomcat way better than Apache+FastCGI? Is choosing FastCGI still a good idea or just a lingering technology? Ted

  • RESTful Question/Answer design?

    - by Kirschstein
    This is a toy project I'm working on at the moment. My app contains questions with multiple choice answers. The question url is in the following format, with GET & POST mapping to different actions on the questions controller. GET: url.com/questions/:category/:difficulty => 'ask' POST: url.com/questions/:category/:difficulty => 'answer' I'm wondering if it's worth redesigning this into a RESTful style. I know I'd need to introduce answers as a resource, but I'm struggling to think of a url that would look natural for answering that question. Would a redesign be worthwhile? How would you go about structuring the urls?

  • Probability distribution for sms answer delays

    - by Thomas Ahle
    I'm writing an app using sms as communication. I have chosen to subscribe to an sms-gateway, which provides me with an API for doing so. The API has functions for sending as well as pulling new messages. It does however not have any kind of push functionality. In order to do my queries most efficient, I'm seeking data on how long time people wait before they answer a text message - as a probability function. Extra info: The application is interactive (as can be), so I suppose the times will be pretty similar to real life human-human communication. I don't believe differences in personal style will play a big impact on the right times and frequencies to query, so average data should be fine.
