• Slow PDF upload for Confluence

  We run a site that we host that uses the Atlassian Confluence. The site works great and is being used now. But there is one thing. It seems like when pdf and gifs are uploaded the upload speed will be slower. But the smaller files will upload fine. Has anyone else having an issue with uploading pdf's into confluence? I am trying to use fiddler to track the speed but am not having luck with that. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  Let's say I allow users to link to any images they like. The link would be checked for syntactical correctness, escaping etc., and then inserted in an <img src="..."/> tag. Are there any known security vulnerabilities, e.g. by someone linking to "evil.example.com/evil.jpg", and evil.jpg contains some code that will be executed due to a browser bug or something like that? (Let's ignore CSRF attacks - it must suffice that I will only allow URLs with typical image file suffixes.)

  I have the following gifs on my linux system: $ find . -name *.gif ./gifs/02.gif17.gif ./gifs/fit_logo_en.gif ./gifs/halloween_eyes_63.gif ./gifs/importing-pcs.gif ./gifs/portal.gif ./gifs/Sunflower_as_gif_small.gif ./gifs/weird.gif ./gifs2/00p5dr69.gif ./gifs2/iss013e48788.gif ...and so on What I have written is a program that converts GIF files to BMP with the following interface: ./gif2bmp -i inputfile -o outputfile My question is, is it possible to write a one line command using xargs, awk, find etc. to run my program once for each one of these files? Or do I have to write a shell script with a loop?

• php split array into smaller even arrays

  I have a function that is supposed to split my array into smaller, evenly distributed arrays, however it seems to be duplicating my data along the way. If anyone can help me out that'd be great. I thought I could remove the duplicates using a multi-dimensional remove duplicate function but that didn't work. I'm guessing my problem is in the array_split function. Any suggestions? :)

  I am hoping someone can help me with this problem. I am moving to a new server and not using mod_pagespeed any more. However We not that we have lots of external links that link to images on our server using the strange mod_pagespeed filenames. This is not an issue but we do not want to have lots of 404 errors. So I have lots of links like the following : http://www.domain.com/images/150x150xlink.png.pagespeed.ic.pPXw45HSQm.png http://www.domain.com/images/paris_01.gif.pagespeed.ce.vfrkuKUaj0.gif http://www.doamin.com/images/1st2.gif.pagespeed.ce.OUg38q6VbZ.gif How can I redirect them to : http://www.domain.com/images/150x150xlink.png http://www.domain.com/images/paris_01.gif http://www.doamin.com/images/1st2.gif There are thousands of files like this so I am hoping for a simple solution with mod_rewrite, I tried this but it does not work. • Why can't gif images copy at a reasonable speed on this dell laptop with XP?

  I've got this somewhat old Dell Latitude D810. Strangest thing... If I try to copy anything that has gif files in it the gif files take forever. Like a few minutes per gif regardless of size. Everything else copies fine. I notice this when copying files off our network, copying off multiple external drives, and even when files are copying during an installation process. I'm on Windows XP Pro service pack 3. I've never seen anything like this before. Anyone else?

• Event bubbling with img tags?

  I did some googling and figured I'm probably experiencing so called "event bubbling" that I've never heard of but are not surprised by it's existance. I want it to fire only once and I'm wondering how to fix this. Basically, I have this small code snippet: $('.bggallery_images').click(function () { alert('test'); }); This is supposed to fire once from a php snippet that basically adds an image of each image from a specific folder. It then outputs an echo string where each image has the class of "bggallery_images". • dynamic multiple instance of swfupload (firefox vs IE)

  We have this dynamic uploader which creates a new instance of swfupload. I'm a little bit confused with the outputs produced by firefox and ie. Firefox have the same output as chrome, safari and opera. Whenever I clicked a button for adding a new instance, the previous instances of swfupload in firefox refresh while IE don't.   I have a apache server that sits in front of my glassfish server. mydomain.com goes directly to my static files on apache, than if you hit the subdomain forum.mydomain.com it goes to the glassfish webapp forum/ at 127.0.0.1:8080/forum/. This proxy seems to work it takes me to the web app but all of the images are missing! Here is how I go my virtual host setup. I know that this is not semantic and not right, but this is only for example. (Basically if I will figure put how to do this, I will replace li's on spans and that div that i need outside li's on li). Will be very glad if someone will help me. Because code that I have is already too much for me.

• Seems like IE animates/processes my loading.gif even though I have set display:none?

  I believe this is happening because whenever I perform an ajax request (upon which the loading.gif is set to display:block) the animation does not start at the same position. The starting point feels random which led me to think the animation still goes on behind the scenes in IE. In Firefox the animation starts from "scratch" all the time. Any ideas?

• Some HTTPS connections via NAT fail, but work on firewall itself.

  Hi, I am having trouble establishing some HTTPS connections from internal machines, even though these same connections work if initiated on the firewall itself. The firewall machine is running Ubuntu 10.04.1 and shorewall 4.4.6. The internet connection is Bell PPPoE DSL (in Canada). I have tried various MTU settings, it doesn't seem to make any difference. Other protocols (HTTP, FTP, etc) generally work.   Hello all, I'm struggling with this, maybe some of you can help... I have a home page slideshow with large images at www.theoribeiro.com using jQuery Cycle plugin Images are large and sometimes with slow connections (but even in fast ones) the behavior of the slideshow start is pretty ugly, showing the image all of a sudden or half-loaded. I want to make sure that at least the 2 or 3 first images are loaded before the slideshow starts and meanwhile I want to run a loading animated gif, then I want to fade in the first image. I searched a lot on the internet and on the forums and tried loads of stuff with my limited knowledge of javascript and jQuery but could't come up with a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
