• Unable to access certain websites

  I am unable to access certain websites from my PC viz. google.com, gmail.com , stackoverflow.com, etc. However, I am able to access facebook.com, twitter.com, infoq.com etc. Currently I am accessing Google via proxy server. I suspect that the problem might exist with websites that have used ASP for scripting. Please suggest a solution to the problem that I am facing.

• Showing an array of certain pages with WP_Query in Wordpress

  What I'm trying to achieve is showing only certain pages in a loop. 3 certain pages, not more, not less. I've tried many things but I just can't complete it. <?php $special_tabs = new WP_Query(array('post_type' => 'page', 'post_in' => array(100,102,104))); ?> What this does, from what I understand, is that it shows an array of pages and then includes those ID's there as well. <?php $special_tabs = new WP_Query(array ('page_id' => 100)); ?> And this shows only ONE certain page, it doesn't support the showing of array of different IDs. I'm sure I am not the first person to have such specific needs and I'm certain there is a relatively simple way to achieve what I'm trying to achieve, but I just can't come up with a solution or to find one.   We have a requirement, wherein the administrative user needs to proxy in as a certain user in an environment where several users (Role: User) are managed by an administrator (Role: Admin). e.g If we have the following users in the database (admin, user1, user2, user3), we would want the admin to proxy as 'user2' and use the system in certain scenarios. Authentication in our web application is based username / password credentials, what mechanisms are available for the admin to proxy as 'user2' when he doesn't have the password for 'user2'. How can the application track such access for audit purposes to mention that 'admin' had proxied for 'user2' and performed certain actions. I am looking for suggestions on supporting this in our j2ee (jboss seam) web application.

• How to crawl retweets of a certain user?

  I studied the Twitter API Documentation today. Only find that we could use "Twitter REST API Method: statuses user_timeline" to acquire statuses of a certain user. Retweets are stripped out of the user_timeline for backwards compatibility reasons. If I want retweets included, API Documentation recommend "statuses retweeted_by_me", but retweeted_by_me cannot return the retweets by other users. I think maybe we can analyse the twitter webpage of a certain user to get his retweets. However is there any elegant way to crawl retweets of a certain user? Thanks in advance!

• Only perform jquery effects/operations on certain pages

  Up until now i've been dropping all my jquery code right inside the document.ready function. I'm thinking that for certain situations this isnt the best way to go. for example: If i want an animation to perform when a certain page loads what is the best way to go about that. $(document).ready(function() { $("#element_1").fadeIn(); $("#element_2").delay('100').fadeIn(); $("#element_3").delay('200').fadeIn(); }); If this is right inside of document.ready then every time ANY page loads it's going to check each line and look for that element. What is the best way to tell jquery to only perform a chunk of code on a certain page to avoid this issue.

  I want to setup a click event trigger in jQuery for certain anchor tags. I want to open certain links in a new tab while ignoring ones with a certain class (before you ask I cannot put classes on the links I am trying to catch as they come from a CMS). I want to exclude links with class "button" OR "generic_link" I have tried $(".content_box a[class!=button]").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); window.open($(this).attr('href')); }); But that doesn't seem to work, also how do I do an OR statement to include "generic_link" in the exclusion? • transient DNS issues with certain sites in Snow Leopard

  I'm having a rather bizarre DNS issue with Snow Leopard. Certain sites - MSNBC.com being the most noticeable for me - have an odd issue with DNS, in all browsers. After not visiting the site after a while (30 minutes or so), the first attempt to access MSNBC.com results in a DNS error. Refreshing 1-5 times resolves the issue until the next ~30 minute period of inactivity. Seen this on three separate Macs at this point. One from-the-factory Snow Leopard install, two upgrades. Most sites are just fine. I Google and found other reports of the same thing with MSNBC, but no solutions.

• Mysterious gray square outlines on certain desktop icons?

  Recently, my hand slipped on my mouse/keyboard and I accidentally increased the icon size. After resetting it and fixing them, I noticed these incredibly annoying small gray outlines around only certain desktop icons. I have one third party program called 'Desktop Restore' that I use to save and restore icon layouts, but I have no reason to believe that it should have anything to do with it. My question is: Is this something in Windows 7? If so, what is it there for and how can I turn it off? Killing explorer.exe and restarting it doesn't fix the problem, not even rebooting...

• How to brute force keepass with certain letters and characters

  I forgot my password to keepass but I know pretty much what letters and the order they go in, but I'm not sure if I put anything before or after my "main" password or capitalized anything. I tried every combo I could think of but I still can't get in (invalid/wrong key error). I also enabled use master password and key file(on my flash drive). My question is is there a way to brute force keepass with only certain letters and characters in order? An example of the password would be userab12c3d45 sometimes with quotes or underscores at the beginning and end. Or Is there a word list generator that will do this?

• ls returns nothing only in certain directories

  I have a raid drive mounted here: /data/ And certain directories like this one: /data/somedir/somesubdir/ when I run ls w/ or w/o any flags, terminal doesn't return anything. It does not return an empty directory listing. It simply goes to the next line and sits there blank with no prompt coming up. I cannot CTRL-C out of it. I have to close this terminal instance and start over. At first I thought it was something to do with the ls command, but its pointing to /bin/ls and I can ls other directories just fine. Also, running this find /data/somedir/somesubdir immediately finds all the files just as expected.

• How to symlink folders and exclude certain files

  Hey Guys, I'm not a server guru (unfortunately) but have a decent knowledge of linux & bsd. I'm trying to symlink multiple instances of HLDS (game server) but need to exclude certain folders & config files to achieve this properly. I need to do it this way as HLDS loads many mods automatically, and putting an exception to disable the mods doesnt work for all of them. so basically i want: /home/user/hlds-install (the base install) /home/user/server1 /home/user/server2 etc... and then be able to manually put any configs/mods ive excluded into the server dir's so that each server can be configured individually. Can anyone tell me how to do this, perhaps some sort of bash script so that I can just change the targets to run it each time i want to create a new one. I have quite a number to make so doing the whole thing manually for each one definately isn't an option and im all for working smarter, not harder! Thanks :)

• Auto-responder rule in Outlook 2010 produces double signature (but only to certain emails)

  I have set up an auto-responder in Outlook 2010 using a custom template, as a staff member will be on vacation for 6 weeks. It works perfectly, apart from the fact certain people receive two signatures at the bottom of the message instead of one. When reviewing the "sent" folder, there is no sign of double signatures. In the custom template, there is only 1 copy of the signature. Signatures are set to be applied automatically to new messages or replies- however, if I remove the signature from the template, then it seems no one receives a response with the signature. People sending from Hotmail accounts do not receive a duplicate signature. Gmail users do see a duplicate signature. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

• Allow certain users to access a specific directory?

  I'm trying to figure out how to allow certain users who are also me to access a directory of files that I want to use for all of my users. I'm using cPanel and I used WHM to create three separate accounts. The files I want to use are on account1 in the directory /home/account1/public_html/source/engines and I want the directory /home/account2/public_html/source/engines to use the same exact files without having to upload them to both places every time I change them, so I created a simple symbolic link and added account2 to the group account1 (while still keeping its own group as the primary). It still gives me a Permission Denied error though. Is there any way I can grant account2 and other accounts that I create for myself access to those files? I don't want them to be global to all users because I don't want my hosted users to be able to access them, only my users. groups account1 returns account1 : account1 groups account2 returns account2 : account2 account1 /home/account1/public_html/source/engines and all its files belongs to account1:account1 Any other information you might need just ask.

• Certain users cannot get to my server

  I am finding more and more users that report they cannot reach my server (website or services). Their tracert from that user looks like this: Tracing route to domain.com [*.*.*.255] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 * * * Request timed out. The server is up and functional and every else reports it is fine. But there are various users who cannot get to it. I have no firewall or anything that would block anyone. Yes, the last part of the server IP is 255. Could this be causing it? http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18539206-Last-octet-255-bug-on-Windows Or would a certain ISP be denying traffic to my server? Or something on their router level?

  How can I disallow everything in a directory except any subdirectories that have a certain name using htaccess or even vhost.conf for the site? I have a protected main directory which contains subdirectories. Each of the subdirectories have another child dir named 'thumbs', that I want to allow people access to. In the thumbs folder I have files which all start with 'thumb_' prefix for the filename. So which approach to use, .htaccess FilesMatch or vhost DirectoryMatch? and what would be the code to use? • Forbid language switch for certain application(s)

  I have a problem of accidental input language switch. I tried many different settings in order to not do it - change hotkey, install some software (Key Switcher, Keyboard Ninja, Punto Switcher)... But nothing helped. I used to certain hotkey (Ctrl+Shift). Any other hotkey make me even more suffer. The software s found has no feature to avoid accidental switches. What I want is to find a piece of software which can stick "English US" input language to my "Visual Studio". And any Ctrl+Shift pushes inside VS should not lead to language switch. Have any ideas?

• Keyboard doesn't let me press certain keys at the same time

  I'm not sure how to word the problem other than I can't use certain keys at the same time. For example, when playing games that require you to use the arrow keys to move and jump/duck I am unable to move to the left and jump (left arrow + up arrow) at the same time. As a result, I don't play many games when I get to a point where the jumps and what not are too far. This happens with other keys as well. In FPS I am unable to hold W to move forward and hit 2 to select my secondary weapon. Some information that might help you: I am using Windows 7 64-bit I am using a Micro Innovations KB565BL keyboard How can I fix this?

• Postfix - Unable to receive emails from certain domains

  Got a Postfix-Dovecot-Saslauthd setup on Ubuntu 10.04. Problem is there's (at least) one domain that it refuses to accept emails from. I've been getting emails fine from lots of different domains except one. It's really weird, but could some config file or something be blocking certain domains? or IPs? or something? I know the emails are being sent to me, infact I sent a test one myself from this domain and they're just not showing up.

• Use dns suffixes only on certain wireless networks?

  Hello all, quick question. I'm a software guy and networking is all black magic to me! I have a laptop which I use at home and at the office. In order to be able to more easily reference our servers at work, I have our domain name in the DNS suffixes on my TCP/IP settings on my wireless connection. This all works beautifully and I can reference our servers simply by name only. Now the problem... When I go home, it still has those suffixes in there, and I cannot access other servers because it appends the DNS suffixes to the server names. Is there a way I can set up DNS suffixes so that they are only applied when connected to a certain wireless network (I'm thinking by SSID).

• Can't access certain specific IP/domain on Windows 7

  Been banging my head on the wall for some time now. I have a fresh install of Windows 7 - Ultimate ~x86. Some IPs can't resolve properly, it doesn't matter if I try using Firefox, Chrome or IE I end up with a domain not found (server not found, etc.) I am behind a router, all the other computers aren't affected only this Win 7 machine. It's only certain sites. e.g. xkcd.com, facebook's cdn, google group. Things I have tried: flushdns ipconfig renew Disable IP v6 on the NIC Double checked that the computer was in the right timezone @ the right time. Reinstall the NIC driver. Again 90% of the sites will work but not the major one :P help!!!

  Hi all, I am working at a company where you are suppused to lock your screen whenever you leave your desk alone for a few minutes. Now I wondered if there is a nifty little tool that would lock my screen once a certain device is removed from the system. The ideal thing would of course be to have a short-range transmitter that causes the screen to be locked once it goes out of range. But for now I would also stick with removing a pen-drive from my laptop. I am pretty sure this is feasible. I just wan't to know if there are any preexistent projects.

Is there anyway with Exchange 2007 to remove all emails with certain text in the subject line? It would need to be a partial match because the subject changes slightly for each email. I am trying to do this with Forefront's manual scan job + content filter, but it does not seem to like partial matches on the subject.
