  • Obj-c Turning long string into multidimensional array

    - by Phil
    I have a long NSString, something like "t00010000t00020000t00030000" and so on. I need to split that up into each "t0001000". I'm using... NSArray *tileData = [[GameP objectForKey:@"map"] componentsSeparatedByString:@"t"]; And it splits it up, but the "t" is missing, which I need (although I think I could append it back on). The other way I guess would be to split it up by counting 8 char's, although not sure how to do that. But ideally I need it split into a [][] type array so I can get to each bit with something like... NSString tile = [[tileData objectAtIndex:i] objectAtIndex:j]]; I'm new to obj-c so thanks for any help.

  • Decayed multidimensional array return from function

    - by paul simmons
    related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2520535/gcc-multi-dim-array-or-double-pointer-for-warning-free-compile , is there a way to return so-called "decayed array pointer" from a function? in summary (suppose 2 dim array) returning int (*a)[5] format rather than int** format? as far as I see, when returned int** pointer is sent to another function waiting (int*)[] parameter, it is not working correctly.

  • php | Multidimensional array sorting

    - by user889349
    I have an array and need to be sorted (based on id): Array ( [0] => Array ( [qty] => 1 [id] => 3 [name] => Name1 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => [price] => 100.00 ) [1] => Array ( [qty] => 2 [id] => 1 [name] => Name2 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => Color: <em>Black (+10$)</em>. Memory: <em>32GB (+99$)</em>. [price] => 209.00 ) ) Is it possible to sort my array to get output (id based)? Array ( [0] => Array ( [qty] => 2 [id] => 1 [name] => Name2 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => Color: <em>Black (+10$)</em>. Memory: <em>32GB (+99$)</em>. [price] => 209.00 ) [1] => Array ( [qty] => 1 [id] => 3 [name] => Name1 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => [price] => 100.00 ) ) Thanks!

  • Get values from HTML in a multidimensional array and calculate values using PHP

    - by Frank Nwoko
    I have searched but could not get solution on this issue. I am working on an application which will generate unknown number of items and have users select the quantity from a drop down against each item. Eg. Item(s) | price | Select qty Rice 23 3 Beans 22 4 Eggs 52 5 ... ... ... unknown Please, how can I capture the above in an array and also calculate the total value for all selected items and corresponding fees? I have the following HTML code: <form id='form1' name='form1' method='post' action='item_calc.php'> <?php ..... while($t_row = mysql_fetch_assoc($get_items)) { echo "<p><label>$t_row['$item_name'] <input type='text' READONLY name='item_price[]' value='$t_row['$item_price']' /></label> <input type='text' READONLY name='item_fees[]' value='$t_row['$item_fee']' /> <select name="item_qty"> <option value="1"> <option value="2"> <option value="3"> <option value="4"> <option value="5"> </select> </p><p>"; } echo "<label><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Submit' /></label></p> </form>"; Please, how can I get item_price[] + item_fees[] * item_qty for all selected items? This is what I have tried: for ($i = 0; $i < count($_POST['item_price']); $i++) { // Do something here with $_POST['checkbx'][$i] foreach ($_POST['item_fees'] as $tkey => $tvalue) { //echo "Key: $tkey; Value: $tvalue<br>"; } foreach ($_POST['item_price'] as $pkey => $pvalue) { //echo "Key: $pkey; Value: $pvalue<br>"; } $total = $tvalue + $pvalue; } echo $total;

  • count specific values in a multidimensional array

    - by user1680701
    I have an odd set of arrays that I need to count how many times specific values show in the results. Currently I have this bit of code. $nested_arrays = shopp_orders( '2011-11-30 00:00:00', '2012-11-30 12:59:59', false, '', 2 ); print_r($nested_arrays); This code pulls multiple arrays (serialized data) from the database and outputs like this Array ( [30] => Purchase Object ( [purchased] => Array ( ) [columns] => Array ( ) [message] => Array ( ) [data] => Array ( ) [invoiced] => [authorized] => Thank You.

  • PHP sort multidimensional array by value

  • Multidimensional Array To Mysql Codeigniter

    - by rochellecanale
    A little help how can I create an input query using this array? Or how can I pass it in the table? my table layout sample is this: sales_table id | product_name | price | qty | subtotal This is derived from the var_dump() function. Here is my code in array //array code from unserialized function $products = unserialize($this->session->userdata('product_list')); //This is the output. Array ( [2] => Array ( [id] => 2 [product_name] => NOKIA 5110 [product_desc] => Cellphone [product_price] => 500.00 [product_qty] => 1 [product_amount] => 500 [product_code] => NOKI2012-84353 ) [3] => Array ( [id] => 3 [product_name] => HP IPAQ RW6828 [product_desc] => Cellphone [product_price] => 1500.00 [product_qty] => 1 [product_amount] => 1500 [product_code] => HP I2012-08386 ) )

  • Adding an element to a multidimensional array

    - by stef
    How can I loop through the array below and an element per array, with key "url_slug" and value "foo"? I tried with array_push but that gets rid of the key names (it seems?) Doing a foreach($array as $k = $v) doesn't do it either, I think. The new array should be exactly the same only having 4 elements per array instead of 3, with the key / values above. Array ( [0] => Array ( [name_en] => Test 5 [url_name_nl] => test-5 [cat_name] => mobile ) [1] => Array ( [name_en] => Test 10 [url_name_nl] => test-10 [cat_name] => mobile ) [2] => Array ( [name_en] => Test 25 [url_name_nl] => test-25 [cat_name] => mobile ) ) EDIT: full working solution. A little more complex than originally described foreach ($prods as $key => &$value) { if($key == "cat_name") $slug = $value['cat_name']; $url_slug = $this->lang->line($slug); $value['url_slug'] = $url_slug; }

  • Recursive function for multidimensional array

    - by moja
    This is my code, and I need your help to understand it. <?php $tree = array( array( 'name' => 'Item-1', 'children' => array()), array('name' => 'Item-2', 'children' => array( array('name' => 'Item-2-1', 'children' => array()), )), array('name' => 'Item-3', 'children' => array( array('name' => 'Item-3-1', 'children' => array()), array('name' => 'Item-3-2', 'children' => array( array('name' => 'Item-3-2-1', 'children' => array()), array('name' => 'Item-3-2-2', 'children' => array()), array('name' => 'Item-3-2-3', 'children' => array( array('name' => 'Item-3-2-3-1', 'children' => array()), )), )), )), ); What i need is one recursive function, which will return all names (name). For example: Item-1 Item-2 Item-2-1 Item-3 Item-3-1 Item-3-2 ........ Thanks for your help.

  • Python 2.7 creating a multidimensional list

    - by poop
    I don't know why I am having so much trouble creating a 3 dimensional list. I need the program to create an empty n by n list. So for n = 4: x = [[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[]]] I've tried using: y = [n*[n*[]]] y = [[[]]* n for i in range(n)] Which both appear to be creating copies of a reference. I've also tried naieve application of the list builder with little success: y = [[[]* n for i in range(n)]* n for i in range(n)] y = [[[]* n for i in range(1)]* n for i in range(n)] I've also tried building up the array iteratively using loops, with no success. In my rapid flurry of attempts to not post something stupidly easy to SO, I came upon a solution: y = [] for i in range(0,n): y.append([[]*n for i in range(n)]) Is there an easier/ more intuitive way of doing this?

Like the following array: Can I or not? Please suggest me. Array( [1] => Array ( [0] => 1 [1] => Elite [2] => Air-Con Bus [3] => Monday ) [4] => Array ( [0] => 4 [1] => KBZ [2] => Airplane [3] => Wednesday ) [5] => Array ( [0] => 5 [1] => Yoma [2] => Cruise [3] => Tuesday ) )

  • Access php multidimensional array key based on a variable string

    - by ggirtsou
    I have stored the XML path to items in a string like this: response->items->item. What I need to do is to access an array called $xml_array like this: $xml_array['response']['items']['item'] When I write it in the code it works. The thing is that I want it to be done on the fly. I use this to convert response->items->item to ['response']['items']['item']: $xml_path = 'response->items->item'; $explode_path = explode('->', $xml_path); $correct_string = false; foreach($explode_path as $path) { $correct_string .= '[\''.$path.'\']'; } the problem is that I can't access $xml_array by doing this: $xml_array[$correct_string] So I end up with this: $xml_tag = 'title'; $xml_path = 'response->items->item'; $correct_string = '$items = $xml2array'; $explode_path = explode('->', $xml_path); foreach($explode_path as $path) { $correct_string .= '[\''.$path.'\']'; } $correct_string .= ';'; eval($correct_string); foreach($items as $item) { echo $item[$xml_tag].'<br />'; } and access the $xml_array array through $items array. Is there any way I can do this and avoid using eval()? Thanks in advance!

  • Converting array to Drupal format

    - by theo
    Hi all, This statement gives me the value I want in Drupal (namely the last user role): global $user; return (end($user->roles)); however I need to convert it to this format: return array( 0 => array('value' => value for value), // You'll usually want to stop here. Provide more values // if you want your 'default value' to be multi-valued: 1 => array('value' => value for value), 2 => ... ); and I've got no idea how to (also, is this format a multidimensional array?)... Any ideas? Thanks for any help, Theo.

  • PHP array taking up to much memory

    - by Dylan Taylor
    I have a multidimensional array. The array itself is fine. My problem is that the script takes up monster amounts of memory, and since I'm running this on my MAMP install on my iBook G4, my computer freezes up. Below is the full script. $query = "SELECT * FROM posts ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 10"; $result = mysql_query($query); $posts = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ $posts[$row["id"]]['post_id'] = $row["id"]; $posts[$row["id"]]['post_title'] = $row["title"]; $posts[$row["id"]]['post_text'] = $row["text"]; $posts[$row["id"]]['post_tags'] = $row["tags"]; $posts[$row["id"]]['post_category'] = $row["category"]; foreach ($posts as $post) { echo $post["post_id"]; } Is there a workaround that still achieves my goal (to export the MySQL query rows to an array)? -Dylan

  • Python / Django : emulating a multidimensionnal layer on a mySql database

    - by Sébastien Piquemal
    Hi, I'm working on a Django project where I need to provide a lot of different visualizations on the same data (for example average of a value for each month, for each year / for a location, etc ...). I have been using OLAP database once in college, and I thought that it would fit my needs, but it appears that it is much to heavy for what I need. Actually the volume of data is not very big, so I don't need any optimization, just a way to present different visualizations of the same data without having to write 1000 times the same code. So let's recap : I need a python library : to emulate a multidimensional database (OLAP style would be nice because I think it is quite convenient : stat structure, and everything) non-intrusive, because I can't modify anything on the existing mysql database easy-to-use, because otherwise there's no point in replacing some overhead by another.

  • MATLAB: Need to make a 4D plot (3D + Colour/Color)

    - by user1305624
    I need to make a 3D surface where colour will represent the fourth variable. I know "surf" is SIMILAR to what I need, but that's not quite it. Basically, I have the following variables: t = [1:m] y = [1:n] a = [1:o] These should be the three Cartesian corodinate axes. I also have a variable S that is of dimensions m x n x o, and is basically the amplitude, a function of the previous three variables (i.e. S = f(t,y,a)). I want this to be represented by colour. So to summarize, I need a graph of the form (t,y,a,S), where the first three variables are vectors of unequal sizes and the final variable is a multidimensional array whose dimensions are determined by the first three. Thanks in advance.

  • How do I convert a Python list of lists of lists into a C array by using ctypes?

    - by pc05
    As seen here How do I convert a Python list into a C array by using ctypes? this code will take a python array and transform it to a C array. import ctypes arr = (ctypes.c_int * len(pyarr))(*pyarr) Which would the way of doing the same with a list of lists or a lists of lists of lists? For example, for the following variable list3d = [[[40.0, 1.2, 6.0, 0.3], [50.0, 4.2, 0, 0]], [[40.0, 1.2, 6.0, 0.3], [50.0, 4.2, 0, 0]], [[40.0, 1.2, 6.0, 0.3], [50.0, 4.2, 0, 0]]] I have tried the following with no luck: ([[ctypes.c_double * 4] *2]*3)(*list3d) # *** TypeError: 'list' object is not callable (ctypes.c_double * 4 *2 *3)(*list3d) # *** TypeError: expected c_double_Array_4_Array_2 instance, got list Thank you! EDIT: Just to clarify, I am trying to get one object that contains the whole multidimensional array, not a list of objects. This object's reference will be an input to a C DLL that expects a 3D array.

  • Objective-C why doesn't my array of array works?

    - by Quetsche
    This is probably a completely stupid question, but i'm pretty new at objective-C and programing in general. i'm trying to make an array of arrays but can't manage to make it work : @interface ArraysAndDicts : NSObject { NSMutableArray * mySimpleArray; NSMutableArray * myComplicatedArray; } the implementation : -(void)generateValueForArrayOfArrays { [self generateValueForArray]; //this generates an array with 5 elements 'mySimpleArray' [myComplicatedArray addObject:mySimpleArray]; NSMutableArray * mySecondaryArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; [mySecondaryArray addObject:@"twoone"]; [mySecondaryArray addObject:@"twotwo"]; [myComplicatedArray addObject:mySecondaryArray]; (i edited out all the NSLogs for clarity) When running my app, the console tells me : mySecondaryArray count = 2 mySimpleArray count = 5 myComplicatedArraycount = 0 So, i know there are other ways to make multidimensional arrays, but i'd really like to know why this doesn't work. Thank you.

  • Dynamically Generate Multi-Dimensional Array in Ruby

    - by user335729
    Hi, I'm trying to build a multidimensional array dynamically. What I want is basically this (written out for simplicity): b = 0 test = [[]] test[b] << ["a", "b", "c"] b += 1 test[b] << ["d", "e", "f"] b += 1 test[b] << ["g", "h", "i"] This gives me the error: NoMethodError: undefined method `<<' for nil:NilClass. I can make it work by setting up the array like test = [[], [], []] and it works fine, but in my actual usage, I won't know how many arrays will be needed beforehand. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks

  • Selecting a multi-dimensional array in LINQ

    - by mckhendry
    I have a task where I need to translate a DataTable to a two-dimensional array. That's easy enough to do by just looping over the rows and columns (see example below). private static string[,] ToArray(DataTable table) { var array = new string[table.Rows.Count,table.Columns.Count]; for (int i = 0; i < table.Rows.Count; ++i) for (int j = 0; j < table.Columns.Count; ++j) array[i, j] = table.Rows[i][j].ToString(); return array; } What I'd really like to do is use a select statement in LINQ to generate that 2D array. Unfortunately it looks like there is no way in LINQ to select a multidimensional array. Yes, I'm aware that I can use LINQ to select a jagged array, but that's not what I want. Is my assumption correct, or is there a way to use LINQ to select a multi-dimensional array?

  • How to combine these two PHP arrays ?

    - by Annan
    I have two arrays in php that are part of an image management system. weighted_images A multidimensional array. Each sub array is an associative array with keys of 'weight' (for ordering by) and 'id' (the id of the image). array( 156 => array('weight'=>1, 'id'=>156), 784 => array('weight'=>-2, 'id'=>784), ) images This array is user input. It's an array of image ids. array(784, 346, 748) I want to combine them in to a single array of ids ordered by the weight of the image. If an image doesn't have a weight append to the end. It's not a particularly hard problem however my solution is far from elegant and can't help thinking that there must be a better way to do this. $t_images = array(); foreach ($weighted_images as $wi) { if ( in_array($wi['id'], $images) ) { $t_images[$wi['weight']] = $wi['id']; } } foreach ($images as $image) { if ( !$weighted_images[$image] ) { $t_images[] = $image; } } $images = $t_images; Question: Is there a better way to do this?
