  • Firefox 11.0 Right-Click Dropdown Menu (and Menu Options at Window Top) Flickering - Potential Bug?

    About a week ago my Windows 7 machine starting exhibiting odd Firefox behavior. When I right click on something the drop-down menu flickers and when the mouse is hovering over a field, I can't really see it. This same behavior happens in other ways too, like in the top File, Edit , View, etc menus. I click them and they flicker, when I hover over them, and then they get obscured when I hover over the one I want. I did some research and didn't really find anything. Some people found similar behavior in applications THEY were building. But mine is a global problem. Happens on all sites, as far as I can tell. This is why I suspect it's my Firefox installation. I thought about reinstalling, but if there was another option, I'd like to explore that too. The behavior is not really capture-able, so I don't have anything except words to describe it.   • Can I add right-click options in Google Chrome?

    In Google Chrome, if I select a piece of text and right click on it, I get the option to: 'Search Google for [text]' I find this extremely useful but I'd also like to be able to add my own options. For example, I'd like to add the ability to search amazon.co.uk using the selected text or go straight to Google maps using the selected text (i.e. an address or postcode) and so on. I can sort of add this functionality using PhraseExpress but would rather be able to do it straight from Chrome - is it possible?

If user belong to a specific group or businesss group, the GUI:s logotype should be changed into group's logotype after the user has entered user name and password. All user use the same database with different GUI. Right information of unassigned, modified and resolved bug case will be displayed based on what group or business group that the user is assigned to. All information will display after the user has logged in. Enable to create 1 or more super user (administrator) and regular user. Right user with right group or business group will retrieve right information. Non functional requirement: The bugging tracker take place in a webbapplication.   • Convert rotation from Right handed System to left handed

    I have Euler angles from a right handed system that I am trying to convert to a left handed system. All the information that I have read online says that to convert it simply multiply the axis and the angle in the correct order and it should work. In other words, Z * Y * X. When I do this what I see in Maya, and in engine still do not match up. This is what I have so far: static Quaternion ConvertToRightHand(Vector3 Euler) { Quaternion x = Quaternion.AngleAxis(-Euler.x, Vector3.right); Quaternion y = Quaternion.AngleAxis(Euler.y, Vector3.up); Quaternion z = Quaternion.AngleAxis(Euler.z, Vector3.forward); return (z * y * x); } Keeping the -Euler.x helps keep the object pointing up correctly, but when I pass ( 0,0,0) to face in the -z, it faces in the +z. Help :/

    Can anyone help me with my touchpad issues? I have a HP Pavilion dm4 and it has two areas on the bottom of the touchpad to designate right and left clicks. This mostly doesn't work on Ubuntu in the fact that it recognizes any taps on either tap zone as a left click. Instead, I have it set so if I tap anywhere on the pad it makes a left click. There should be, and there are, many ways in the mouse configuration window to simulate a right click using only a touchpad. None of these work. Changing mouse orientation doesn't do anything, "dwell click" also does nothing, and, the oddest part of this problem, whenever I try to turn "Simulated Secondary Click" off (it doesn't work anyways, but just to try to toggle it), the entire theme of my desktop changes to a gray Windows '95ey look. The only way to get rid of this is to close and reopen the mouse preferences window. My computer is fairly new and the Ubuntu installation is less than a day old.   • MySQL - Limit a left join to the first date-time that occurs?

    Simplified table structure (the tables can't be merged at this time): TableA: dts_received (datetime) dts_completed (datetime) task_a (varchar) TableB: dts_started (datetime) task_b (varchar) What I would like to do is determine how long a task took to complete. The join parameter would be something like ON task_a = task_b AND dts_completed < dts_started The issue is that there may be multiple date-times that occur after the dts_completed. How do I create a join that only returns the first tableB-datetime that occurs after the tableA-datetime?

    I recent changed from Ubuntu to Xubuntu 12.04. The install worked great for a few days, but suddenly the left mouse button stopped working. The right click and scroll bars work fine. After a bit of experimenting I discovered that the problem only happens when I set the session to Xubuntu at login. The mouse also works fine in my dual-booted Windows vista. What could make my mouse stop working like that?

  • All printouts condensed into left half on a Samsung Color Laser printer CLP-365W

    After installing the Samsung Color Laser Printer CLP-365W in 12.04, the printout is condensed into the left half of the A4 page (regardless whether 'fit to page' on or off). This happens both with the automatically recognised Ubuntu driver and the 'Unified Linux driver' from the Samsung website.   • Ctrl + right click opens mutiple items instead of selecting them. How do I fix this?

    Something happened to my keyboard and or mouse controls. I have a Logitech T-BB18 trackwheel and an hp NY418AA Keyboard. When I use the mouse in Windows mail and click the delete button it deletes two emails instead of one and opens all the emails that I have selected when I ctrl + click on multiple emails to select them. When I'm in Windows Explorer ctrl + click and multiple select opens all of the files that I have selected instead of just selecting them. I really need to fix this behavior. Can someone help please?

  • Notify-osd notifications appear unthemed in top-left corner (ubuntu 13.10)

    Problem I recently upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10, and suddenly notification bubbles don't appear themed as usual in the upper right corner, but they appear as white text on blue background in the upper-left corner. It looks like this: Unsuccesful attempts to fix it I tried reinstalling unity, notify-osd, ubuntu-desktop removed notification-daemon which was installed, none of that fixes it. In fact running ps aux | grep notify-osd shows that notify-osd isn't even running. But when I try to start it manually by running /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/notify-osd I get: ** (notify-osd:4618): WARNING **: Another instance has already registered org.freedesktop.Notifications ** (notify-osd:4618): WARNING **: Could not register instance If I understand well, the instance is registered by the /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.Notifications.service file, which right now contains: [D-BUS Service] Name=org.freedesktop.Notifications Exec=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/notify-osd Renaming or deleting that file (and rebooting) has no effect whatsoever (and it is not recreated automatically). This is not a duplicate of No notifications from notify-osd on 13.10 (and by the way I purged gnome-flashback-session along with notification-daemon) Question(s) How can I debug this? How can I get notifications to come back to normal? If additional debug information is needed, I'll be happy to add it (just that I can't find any more).

  • Move Window Buttons Back to the Right in Ubuntu 10.04

    One of the more controversial changes in the Ubuntu 10.04 beta is the Mac OS-inspired change to have window buttons on the left side. We’ll show you how to move the buttons back to the right. Before While the change may or may not persist through to the April 29 release of Ubuntu 10.04, in the beta version the maximize, minimize, and close buttons appear in the top left of a window. How to move the window buttons The window button locations are dictated by a configuration file. We’ll use the graphical program gconf-editor to change this configuration file. Press Alt+F2 to bring up the Run Application dialog box, enter “gconf-editor” in the text field, and click on Run. The Configuration Editor should pop up. The key that we want to edit is in apps/metacity/general. Click on the + button next to the “apps” folder, then beside “metacity” in the list of folders expanded for apps, and then click on the “general” folder. The button layout can be changed by changing the “button_layout” key. Double-click button_layout to edit it. Change the text in the Value text field to: menu:maximize,minimize,close Click OK and the change will occur immediately, changing the location of the window buttons in the Configuration Editor. Note that this ordering of the window buttons is slightly different than the typical order; in previous versions of Ubuntu and in Windows, the minimize button is to the left of the maximize button. You can change the button_layout string to reflect that ordering, but using the default Ubuntu 10.04 theme, it looks a bit strange. If you plan to change the theme, or even just the graphics used for the window buttons, then this ordering may be more natural to you.   • Second display running off laptop VGA not correctly positioned (offset left and up)

    I have black bars on the right and bottom of my display! I'm running my laptop's VGA output to an recognized as a It is 20", but the assumed 3" difference does not account for the incorrect position. Everything displays fine. It runs high-res video beautifully. But it's 3/4" offset left and an unreasonably annoying 1/4" offset up. I've tried going through the display's annoying & useless menu, but it doesn't have any way to adjust the position. I'm certainly no linux newbie, but on this Ubuntu (Pangolin, BTW) I can't figure out how to make simple positional display changes on Ubuntu. It's not only frustrating, it's a bit humiliating! So. Does anyone know of an app that will allow me to make basic display position alterations? ("App" - annoyingly trendy, but a useful word - no matter how grating.) Thanks, & Cheers, Paz

  • Direction of the bullet - how to have something else than left, right, top, bottom

    I'm making a simple shooter game using canvas and javascript. The current code can be seen here. To know which way I want the bullet to be shot, I simply have a direction property that can have 4 values (left, right, bottom, top), and I can then calculate the next position of the bullet easily. However, I'd like to move the bullet to the mouse position, but I don't really see how to do this. How do I calculate the next position? I'm guessing there is some formula to calculate the line between two positions (the player's and the mouse's), but I don't have much idea yet. So there is no obstacle, but I don't see how to calculate this, and be able have the next position of the bullet at each frame.

  • Purple line on left side of screen when I use graphics card's hdmi port

    My graphics card is a nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB. When I plug HDMI into mobo it works fine. When I plug it into the graphics card (with 2nd monitor too) it shows a purple vertical line on the left side. It adds 2 pixels to the width and I can't adjust it with my monitor. It doesn't come up when I print screen. I tried changing the driver to the binary one (at the top) but that made it not show up at all. What do I do? Are some graphics cards just not compatible?
