• mysqld-nt.exe exist in task list, but actually it's not running?

  mysqld-nt.exe is showing in the task manager, but I cannot connect to it. I tried: telnet localhost 3306 And it fails to connect. So I restarted the server,and it's ok. This happens every day. Any ideas? • MySQL password changed every other day in windows?

  Every morning when I check server status,I will find MySQL's password is changed: mysql -uuser -ppassword will report ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' (using password: YES) And then I restart server,and when it's up,MySQL will be back to normal. It has now become a routinely job. What can be the cause for this? How can I know what's exactly happening to MySQL?   Hi everyone. I used the code provided by the NoteExample from the developers doc to create a database. Now I want to add a second table to store different data. I simply "copied" the given code, but when I try to insert into the new table I get an error saying: "0ERROR/Database(370): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: no such table: routes: , while compiling: INSERT INTO routes(line, arrival, duration, start) VALUES(?, ?, ?, ?);" Can someone please take quick look at my DbAdapter class and give me a hint or a solution? • Looking for way to log process terminations on OS X (Mac)

  I'm looking for a way to log all process terminations on my Mac (OS X 10.6.8). (And see pid, timestamp, process name) I've implemented something similar for HP-UX, but it required a kernel-level driver and intercepting several variations of "exit()" (the normal one, and the one invoked on behalf of a process while it's aborting). Why do I want the info? I've been seeing messages in my system log file (dmesg) like: CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x1000): p=91550[GoogleSoftwareUp] clearing CS_VALID CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x1000): p=92088[GoogleSoftwareUp] clearing CS_VALID Although dmesg lacks timestamps, apps/Utilities/Console : Database : all : search for CS_VALID shows that the messages appears about once every 58 1/2 minutes. I suspect the number after "p=" is a process id (pid) ... but for a process that has long since terminated by the time I see the message. So, if there was a process termination log mechanism that recorded the pid, the time of termination, the reason for termination, and the process name (at time of termination), that would probably allow me to determine who's causing those errors to be logged! (No, I'm not running Chrome on my Mac, and "ps -ef | grep -i goog" gets no hits either ... I'm not consciously running any Google apps on the Mac) thanks, Stan [email protected]

• MIDI - Continous control of pitch outside the standard pitch bend range?

  After I send a note on message I can control the pitch of a note within a ±2 semitone range using the pitch bend channel command. How can I continuously update a pitch of a note outside of the normal pitch bend range without retriggering the note (i.e. sending another note on message with the new pitch?) In other words the current note is still sounding after a note on message and its envelope has not reached the end of its release stage. I would like to change the pitch outside the pitch bend range, preferably anywhere within the audible frequency range.

When I opened the video in VLC media player,a black screen appeared and started flickering.The video just does not start. What all I things I did-: updated my VLC Reinstalled my VLC downloaded another media player(wondershare--very very beautiful i must say).It played the video but audio was missing. converted mp4 to flv and then played in both players,still no sound. Its very frustrating as I want to complete my tutorial series asap.FLV works well,but mp4s fall flat. What should I do?

• How to Obtain Data to Pre-Populate Forms.

  The objective is to have a form reflect user's defined constraints on a search. At first, I relied entirely upon server-side scripting to achieve this; recently I tried to shift the functionality to JavaScript. On the server side, the search parameters are stored in a ColdFusion struct which makes it particularly convenient to have the data JSON'ed and sent to the client. Then it's just a matter of separately iterating over 'checkable' and text fields to reflect the user's search parameters; jQuery proved to be exceptionally effective in simplifying the workload. One observable difference lies in performance. The second method appeared to be somewhat slower and didn't work in IE8. Evidently, the returned JSON'ed struct was seen as an empty object. I'm sure it can be fixed, though before spending any more time with it, I'm curious to hear how others would approach the task. I'd gladly appreciate any suggestions. --Stan

(as above) Now i'm going to start versioning my code using git, so that I can have history and backup all my code to a remote server. I know if I were using SVN I would just keep my entire "~/code/" directory in a large repository, but I understand this is not a good way to do things with Git. Most info I've seen online suggests keeping all my project folders in a single place (as in, no separate directories for python or java) with each project containing it's own git repository, and simply having a "snippets" directory containing all single-file scripts/experiments that can be converted into projects at a later date. But I'm not sure how I feel about consolidating all of my code directories into one area. Is there a good way to keep my separate code directories intact, or is it not worth the effort? Maybe I'm just attached to the separate code directories because I've never known anything else... Also (as a side note), I'd like to quickly be able to see a chronological history of all my projects and scripts. So I can see which projects I created most recently. I used to do this by keeping a number at the beginning of all my projects, 002project, 003project. Is there automatic or easy way to do this in git without having to add a number to all of the project names? I'm open to any practical or philosophical code organizing advice you have. Thanks!!!
