  • Zend framework "invalid controller" error message

    When I load the homepage of a ZF site I get a message saying "Invalid controller specified (error)" where "error" seems to be the name of the controller. In my bootstrap.php I have the snippet below where I added the prints statement in the catch(): // Dispatch the request using the front controller. try { $frontController->dispatch(); } catch (Exception $exception) { print $exception; exit; exit($exception->getMessage()); } This prints out: exception 'Zend_Controller_Dispatcher_Exception' with message 'Invalid controller specified (error)' in /www/common/ZendFramework/library16/Zend/Controller/Dispatcher/Standard.php:241 Stack trace: #0 /www/common/ZendFramework/library16/Zend/Controller/Front.php(934): Zend_Controller_Dispatcher_Standard->dispatch(Object(Zend_Controller_Request_Http), Object(Zend_Controller_Response_Http)) #1 /www/site.com/htdocs/application/bootstrap.php(38): Zend_Controller_Front->dispatch() #2 /www/site.com/htdocs/public/index.php(16): require('/www/site....') #3 {main} Can anyone make sense out of what it going on? I have a hunch it has something to do with case sensitivity and the naming conventions of ZF. The initial "invalid controller" message comes from the snippet below print $request->getControllerName(); if (!$this->isDispatchable($request)) { $controller = $request->getControllerName(); if (!$this->getParam('useDefaultControllerAlways') && !empty($controller)) { require_once 'Zend/Controller/Dispatcher/Exception.php'; throw new Zend_Controller_Dispatcher_Exception('Invalid controller specified (' . $request->getControllerName() . ')'); } $className = $this->getDefaultControllerClass($request); } This all prints out "indexerrorInvalid controller specified (error)" so it looks like it's trying to load the index controller first, can not and then has a problem loading the error controller. Could it just be that the path to the controller files is wrong?

  • Using Zend Framework and Doctrine with independend modular structures

    I've seen a lot of articles about integrating ZF and Doctrine. There is also a proposal for ZF here but they have always two possible structures. Either they put all models into one top level model directory or they put it into a module related model directory. application |-- Bootstrap.php |-- configs |-- controllers |-- models - EITHER HERE |-- modules | -- examplemodule | |-- controllers | |-- models - OR HERE | |-- views |-- views For our projects I see problems for either of the two options: 1. One directory: application/models - in a complex system after a short time there will be hundreds of files, over all when you have the table classes two (e.g. User.php and UserTable.php). 2. Module based model directories: application/modules/examplemodule/models - in many cases we use models in multiple modules at the same time. So the "User" is required e.g. in the modules "game", "administration", ... Is there a way to use some kind of sub directories under the top level directory "models" to get some grouping. It should be completely independent of the module structure. application |-- Bootstrap.php ... |-- models | -- user | |-- User.php | |-- Friend.php | |-- other user related models | -- game | |-- Game.php | |-- Score.php | |-- ... ... Any solution should support autoloading and the class generation from yaml files. Any ideas, links or solutions? Thanks!

    I downloaded the latest version of Zend framework, added a controller and I can not get it to load.. Here is what I did: C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs>zf create project myproject Creating project at C:/zend/Apache2/htdocs/myproject Note: This command created a web project, for more information setting up your V HOST, please see docs/README C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs>cd myproject C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myproject>zf create controller mycontroller Note: The canonical controller name that is used with other providers is "Mycont roller"; not "mycontroller" as supplied Creating a controller at C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myproject/application/controller s/MycontrollerController.php Creating an index action method in controller Mycontroller Creating a view script for the index action method at C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myp roject/application/views/scripts/mycontroller/index.phtml Creating a controller test file at C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myproject/tests/applic ation/controllers/MycontrollerControllerTest.php Updating project profile 'C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myproject/.zfproject.xml' C:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\myproject> Then I tried to hit the controller from the browser.. http://localhost/myproject/public/mycontroller/ and I get the error: Not Found The requested URL /myproject/public/mycontroller/ was not found on this server. I have no idea how to resolve this, and I'm sort of shocked I'm having problems with the Zend Server.

  • UTF8 charset, diacritical elements, conversion problems - and Zend Framework form escaping

    Hey, I am writing a webapp in ZF and am having serious issues with UTF8. It's using multi lingual content through Zend Form and it seems that ZF heavily escapes all of these characters and basically just won't show a field if there's diacritical elements 'é' and if I use the HTML entity equivalent e.g. é it gets escaped so that the user will see 'é'. Zend Form allows for having non escaped data, but trying to use this is confusing, and it seems it'd need to be used all over the place. So, I have been told that if the page and the text is in UTF8, no conversion to htmlentities is required. Is this true? And if the last question is true, then how do I convert the source text to UTF8? I am comfortable setting up apache so that it sends a default UTF8 charset heading, and also adding the charset meta tag to the html, but doing this I am still getting messed up encoding. I have also tried opening the translation csv file in TextWrangler on OSX as UTF8, but it has done nothing. Thanks! L

    I'm trying to create a bootable USB stick on OS X using http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-mac-osx When this finishes, I get a message in terminal saying "695+1 records in 695+1 records out 729067520 bytes transferred in 264.563662 secs (2755736 bytes/sec)" But a message pops up saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" Options are Initialize, Ignore or Eject. What am I doing wrong or omitting. (oh - complete novice)
