• How to avoid the configuring ms office dialog box

  I always see the configuring ms office with a an endless progress bar, 2 or more weeks after I installed ms office(2000, 2003, 2010 beta). I'm not exactly sure what it is called but it is trying to configure ms office.Or maybe repairing the installation. And it sucks because when I need to access ms word NOW, I can only see that box with the progress bar. And when I press cancel, it won't open ms word, or maybe the whole suite(ms word, powerpoint, excel) What might be a possible solution to this?anyone here who has encountered it before

  I don't believe this has been asked before, and I'm curious, Is there any way to change the default font in MS Word 2010 beta? Or MS Word 2007? • Displaying XML in Chrome Browser

  I love the Chrome browser but I use XML quite a lot in my development work and when I view it in Chrome I just get the rendered text. I know that the source view is slightly better but I'd really like to see the layout and functionality that IE adds to XML namely: Highlighting Open/close nodes Any ideas how I can get this on Chrome?   I'm mostly a Linux geek, but while I will be trying to make my first Arch Linux installation in a virtual machine to learn and make my installation script for the true install, I need a simple OS and Windows 7 was better than Windows XP Media Center cause Media Center is outdated on XP. I tested it has a beta but my Hauppauge wintv-pvr usb2 remote wasn't working but the tv-tuner worked well and I haven't tested Windows XP Mode and my printer Epson Stylus Photo R300. Do someone know this hardware and if the XP Mode is easily supported?

  I'm new to the Mac world and tried both MSN Messenger for Mac (7.0 and 8.0 beta) as well as Adium to connect to the Windows network. I've enable 'Allow all incoming connections' in the Firewall settings. Windows Live Messenger works fine when connecting through the same router on my Windows laptop. I've triple checked my password and verified it through a web browser and Windows Live. Any ideas what my issue could be?

  I was trying to load the cool Kataspace WebGL demo (more info) and I get the error message "Your browser doesn't support WebGL. Currently we recommend the latest Firefox 4 Beta for all platforms." I checked around and every piece of advice I can find on the internet says to set webgl.enabled_for_all_sites to true in the about:config page. Mine is set to true yet I still receive the same message. Does anyone know of any other items that may be conflicting with WebGL running properly?

• Extracting one file from archive: 7-zip requires decompressing entire archive?

  I've noticed that when browsing an archive containing multiple files with 7-zip 9.20 Windows GUI, extracting one file for previewing takes significantly longer with .7z than .rar archives. With .7zips it also cycles through the filenames in the archive. To me it looks like decompressing the entire archive and keeping just one file. Is there a setting in 7-zip (current or beta/alpha versions) that allows RAR-like behavior?
