  • How to change Windows 8 Start Background Image and Color Scheme?

    - by Lukas Schmelzeisen
    I want to change the style of the Windows 8 Start Screen: Under Charmsbar > Settings > More PC Settings > Personalize > Start Screen you can choose out of 20 predefined background images and between 25 predefined color schemes: How can you specify your own custom Windows 8 Start Background Image and Color Scheme? There were multiple Tools for the preview version like Windows 8 UI Tweaker or My WCP Start Screen Customizer, however none of them seem to work in the final release version of Windows 8.

  • Coloring of collapsed threads in mutt

    - by Rich
    I'm trying to figure out the syntax of colouring collapsed threads in the mutt index. The documentation for mutt patterns doesn't seem to include a description of how this works, and so far I've been completely unable to figure it out by trial and error. What I'd like is for collapsed threads that contain any unread (new) messages to be always coloured green. If collapsed threads with no unread messages contain any flagged messages, then I'd like them to be red. So far, every set of patterns I've tried results in threads that contain both flagged and unread messages being coloured red (I want them green). These work: color index green default "~N" # unread messages color index green default "~N~F" # unread flagged messages color index red default "~F" # flagged messages color index green default "~v~(~N)" # collapsed thread with unread But these don't: color index green default "~v~(~N~F)" # attempt to keep threads with unread green color index red default "~v~(~F)" # colours collapsed threads with flagged and unread red color index red default "~v~(!~N~F)" # ditto color index red default "~v~(^!~N~F)" # ditto color index red default "~v~(~F)~(!~N)" # ditto color index red default "~v~(~F)~v~(!~N)" # ditto I've also tried switching the order of the "~v~(~F)" and "~v~(~N)" commands in the file, but the "flagged" rule always seems to take precedence over the "new" rule. Ideally I'd like to understand how the syntax for colouring collapsed threads works, but at this point I'd happily settle for a set of rules that achieves the colourscheme described above.

  • How do you change color of gradient image found on the net?

    - by askmoo
    For example, I found this gradient image (randomly chosen) How do you change its color in Photoshop or GIMP? I tried overlay but it covers everything with that color. For example I want to have white-to-red gradient image. Possible to do it in a quick way via any of these tools or I have to make it from the scratch? This is the image before and after I use the tool suggested. You can see the horizontal striped on the after image.

  • How can I set external monitor as default?

    - by iJeeves
    I have connected an external monitor to my laptop through HDMI. Currently either my Desktop is getting extended to the external monitor (with native resolution) or low resolution on both when I choose "Same Image in both". How can I ensure that the external monitor is used by default and the laptop monitor just blanks. • Using 2D sprites and 3D models together

    - by Sweta Dwivedi
    I have gone through a few posts that talks about changing the GraphicsDevice.BlendState and GraphicsDevice.DepthStencilState (SpriteBatch & Render states). . however even after changing the states .. i cant see my 3D model on the screen.. I see the model for a second before i draw my video in the background. . Here is the code: case GameState.InGame: GraphicsDevice.Clear(Color.AliceBlue); spriteBatch.Begin(); if (player.State != MediaState.Stopped) { videoTexture = player.GetTexture(); } Rectangle screen = new Rectangle(GraphicsDevice.Viewport.X, GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Y, GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Width, GraphicsDevice.Viewport.Height); // Draw the video, if we have a texture to draw. if (videoTexture != null) { spriteBatch.Draw(videoTexture, screen, Color.White); if (Selected_underwater == true) { spriteBatch.DrawString(font, "MaxX , MaxY" + maxWidth + "," + maxHeight, new Vector2(400, 10), Color.Red); spriteBatch.Draw(kinectRGBVideo, new Rectangle(0, 0, 100, 100), Color.White); spriteBatch.Draw(butterfly, handPosition, Color.White); foreach (AnimatedSprite a in aSprites) { a.Draw(spriteBatch); } } if(Selected_planet == true) { spriteBatch.Draw(kinectRGBVideo, new Rectangle(0, 0, 100, 100), Color.White); spriteBatch.Draw(butterfly, handPosition, Color.White); spriteBatch.Draw(videoTexture,screen,Color.White); GraphicsDevice.BlendState = BlendState.Opaque; GraphicsDevice.DepthStencilState = DepthStencilState.Default; GraphicsDevice.SamplerStates[0] = SamplerState.LinearWrap; foreach (_3DModel m in Solar) { m.DrawModel(); } } spriteBatch.End(); break;

  • Circle to Circle collision, checking each circle against all others

    - by user14861
    I'm currently coding a little circle to circle collision demo but I've got a little stuck. I think I currently have the code to detect collision but I'm not sure how to loop through my list of circles and check them off against one another. Collision check code: public static Vector2 GetIntersectionDepth(Circle a, Circle b) { float xValue = a.Center.X - b.Center.X; float yValue = a.Center.Y - b.Center.Y; Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; float distance = Vector2.Distance(a.Center, b.Center); if (a.Radius + b.Radius > distance) { float result = (a.Radius + b.Radius) - distance; depth.X = (float)Math.Cos(result); depth.Y = (float)Math.Sin(result); } return depth; } Loop through code: Vector2 depth = Vector2.Zero; for (int i = 0; i < bounds.Count; i++) for (int j = i+1; j < bounds.Count; j++) { depth = CircleToCircleIntersection.GetIntersectionDepth(bounds[i], bounds[j]); } Clearly I'm a complete newbie, wondering if anyone can give any suggestions or point out my errors, thanks in advance. :)

  • Install lubuntu on an old Dell c600 : Video issues

    - by maniat1k
    I am trying to install lubuntu on an old laptop. I use the 386 alternate instalation of it, because it has only 256mb ... All when ok so when I start up the lubuntu the screen splits between 1024x768 and 800x600... its very horrible to use =). Ok I do this: lspci and found an ATI Rage mobility M3. So I tryied the old xorg way to edit the missing resolution: Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Device "ATI Technologies, Inc. Rage Mobility M3 (AGP)" Monitor "Generic Monitor" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 1 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 4 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 8 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 15 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection EndSection on an brand new xorg.conf... Do an init 6 to see if X take the changes, but nothing habbened: also tryed to do pkg-reconfigure -changedir /etc/X11 (where I created the new xorg.conf) and nothing.. removed the X conf from /tmp.. also do sudo apt-get update / upgrade... and no luck... Anyone can help me and tell me how to reconfigure X with the terminal? Can anyone give me a hand?

  • Collision Detection Problems

    - by MrPlosion
    So I'm making a 2D tile based game but I can't quite get the collisions working properly. I've taken the code from the Platformer Sample and implemented it into my game as seen below. One problem I'm having is when I'm on the ground for some strange reason I can't move to the left. Now I'm pretty sure this problem is from the HandleCollisions() method because when I stop running it I can smoothly move around with no problems. Another problem I'm having is when I'm close to a tile the character jitters very strangely. I will try to post a video if necessary. Here is the HandleCollisions() method: Thanks. void HandleCollisions() { Rectangle bounds = BoundingRectangle; int topTile = (int)Math.Floor((float)bounds.Top / World.PixelTileSize); int bottomTile = (int)Math.Ceiling((float)bounds.Bottom / World.PixelTileSize) - 1; int leftTile = (int)Math.Floor((float)bounds.Left / World.PixelTileSize); int rightTile = (int)Math.Ceiling((float)bounds.Right / World.PixelTileSize) - 1; isOnGround = false; for(int x = leftTile; x <= rightTile; x++) { for(int y = topTile; y <= bottomTile; y++) { if(world.Map[y, x].Collidable == true) { Rectangle tileBounds = new Rectangle(x * World.PixelTileSize, y * World.PixelTileSize, World.PixelTileSize, World.PixelTileSize); Vector2 depth = RectangleExtensions.GetIntersectionDepth(bounds, tileBounds); if(depth != Vector2.Zero) { if(Math.Abs(depth.Y) < Math.Abs(depth.X)) { isOnGround = true; position = new Vector2(position.X, position.Y + depth.Y); } else { position = new Vector2(position.X + depth.X, position.Y); } bounds = BoundingRectangle; } } } }

  • How do I change the background color of the column with the expanders in Eclipse?

    - by Pridkett
    Recently after scorching my retinas from the garish white background in Eclipse, I found some of the excellent posts about how to change the colors so it uses sane (i.e. dark background) colors in the editor. However, one problem present in all solutions is that background of the column with the expanders for code folding is always white. Is there a way to change the background of that column? Here's a screenshot of the problem: I'm not the only person that has this problem, as shown in the screenshots for the following questions: Dark Color Scheme for Eclipse Color Themes for Eclipse (application of color schemes results in this issue on a Mac, no idea about PC) I know that the problem is not language specific as it happens in Java, Python, HTML, and everything else. Any hints on where in the pages of preferences this setting is?

  • How do I set the color for the editButtonItem in the navigation bar of a UITableViewController ?

    - by eemceebee
    Hi I have a UITableViewController where I added a "editButtonItem" in the navigation bar : self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = self.editButtonItem; No magic here, but I try to define the color (background and foreground/textcolor) of this button. I read in the Apple forum somewhere that the button changes the color if I change the navigationbar to the same color, well despite the fact that I do not get this to work either (for testing) I do not want to touch the navigationbr itself, just the button. Since this button is already predefined I am not sure how to handle this. Do I need to overwrite the button with my own definition or can I just simply apply a new style (if so how ?) Thx

  • Problem comparing keys in Appengine/Python

    - by ana
    I'm trying to create a relationship between "tables" with Appengine/Python. Imagine I have a "table" for items, and a table for colors. I save the color of an item by saving the color key as an atribute of the item. That's working well, but this particular piece of code is not working: <select id="colorKey" name="colorKey"> {% for color in colors %} <option value="{{ color.key }}"{% if color.key = item.colorKey %} selected="selected"{% endif %}> {{ color.name }} - {{ item.colorKey }} - {{ color.key }} </option> {% endfor %} </select> Since the {{ item.colorKey }} and {{ color.key }} variables are actually the same chain of characters, I only can think in a problem with the types. {{ item.colorKey }} is a string for sure. But maybe {{ color.key }} is not?

  • Why can't I set a custom color-tint for the UINavigationBar?

    - by mobibob
    I want to change the color on the navigation bar and the documentation states not to attempt to change the 'alpha' value. So, how can I set a color that is not the SDK defined values (e.g., [UIColor redColor], brownColor, etc.) if all the constructors provide an alpha value? I tried getting the current alpha value but that did not help. When I use a custom color, it causes the navigation bar to look like an x-ray (a scraggy, black-on-white). [self.navigationController.navigationBar setTintColor: [UIColor brownColor]];

  • Change color on single-series line chart using rCharts and Highcharts?

    - by Sharon
    Is it possible to change the color of a line using rCharts and Highcharts so that the line color changes depending on a factor? I've done this with ggplot2 but would like to make an interactive version if possible. I've tried h1 <- Highcharts$new() h1$chart(type="line") h1$series(data=mydf$myvalue, name="", groups = c("myfactor")) h1$xAxis(tickInterval = 4, categories = mydf$myXaxis) but that's not working, line stays the same color. Sample data myvalue <- c(16, 18, 5, 14, 10) myXaxis <- c(1,2,3,4,5) myfactor <- c("old", "old", "old", "new", "new") mydf <- data.frame(myvalue, myXaxis, myfactor) Thanks for any suggestions.

  • In Android, how can i allow the user to choose a color between 4 ?

    - by Marco Siino
    I'm making an Android App, and i need to put a control that let user choose between 4 different colors. I want to do this with something like radio buttons: the problem is that radiobuttons are round... is there a way to set them looks like square/rect buttons, and assign a color to their inside rect area ? If not, how can i achieve that choose for the user ? I need this because i'm making a Todo/Task android application, and i need the user to choose the priority of a task, between for priority level that are rapresented with a color. So i think to do that by showing 4 buttons, each with a different color associated, and a text inside ("0", "1", "2", "3") Thanks!

  • How can I plot NaN values as a special color with imshow in matplotlib?

    - by Adam Fraser
    example: import numpy as np import matplotlib.pyplot as plt f = plt.figure() ax = f.add_subplot(111) a = np.arange(25).reshape((5,5)).astype(float) a[3,:] = np.nan ax.imshow(a, interpolation='nearest') f.canvas.draw() The resultant image is unexpectedly all blue (the lowest color in the jet colormap). However, if I do the plotting like this: ax.imshow(a, interpolation='nearest', vmin=0, vmax=24) --then I get something better, but the NaN values are drawn the same color as vmin... Is there a graceful way that I can set NaNs to be drawn with a special color (eg: gray or transparent)?

  • How do I get the current color of a fragment?

    - by Mason Wheeler
    I'm trying to wrap my head around shaders in GLSL, and I've found some useful resources and tutorials, but I keep running into a wall for something that ought to be fundamental and trivial: how does my fragment shader retrieve the color of the current fragment? You set the final color by saying gl_FragColor = whatever, but apparently that's an output-only value. How do you get the original color of the input so you can perform calculations on it? That's got to be in a variable somewhere, but if anyone out there knows its name, they don't seem to have recorded it in any tutorial or documentation that I've run across so far, and it's driving me up the wall.

    If i had a list of balls each of which has a color property. how can i cleanly get the list of balls with the most frequent color. [m1,m2,m3,m4] say, m1.color = blue m2.color = blue m3.color = red m4.color = blue [m1,m2,m4] is the list of balls with the most frequent color My Approach is to do: [m1,m2,m3,m4].group_by{|ball| ball.color}.each do |samecolor| my_items = samecolor.count end where count is defined as class Array def count k =Hash.new(0) self.each{|x|k[x]+=1} k end end my_items will be a hash of frequencies foreach same color group. My implementation could be buggy and i feel there must be a better and more smarter way. any ideas please?

  • Changing the Settings item description text color in Android?

    - by Cori
    I use a Samsung Vibrant, and one of the annoying bits that Samsung tossed on their TouchWiz skin was changing the color of the Settings menu item description text from white (AOSP) to light blue. This looks okay as long as the skin is bluey-themed, but most ROMs seem to be leaning toward Gingerbread clones... doesn't look good with the green. How can I change that settings description font color back to white, or even the orange it is in actual Android 2.3? Which xml file is the color property located in? It seems to also spread to all apps you install, too... the blue text.

  • Making a video with opencv and ffmpeg. How to find the right color format?

    - by luc
    I have a webcam video recorder program built with python, opencv and ffmpeg It works ok except that the color of the video is more blue than the reality. The problem seems to come from color format of images. It seems that OpenCv is giving BGR images and ffmpeg+libx264 is expecting YUV420p. I've read that YUV420p correspond to YCbCr. opencv has no conversion from BGR to YCbCr. It only has a conversion to YCrCb. I have made some searchs and tried different alternatives to try converting opencv image to something that could be ok for ffmpeg+libx264. None is working. At this point, I am a bit lost and I would appreciate any pointer that could help me to fix this color issue.

So far, I have downloaded a source code much like the one that I had in mind and so, I'm currently studying how the code work. The problem is, when stitching two or more images together, their color intensity will most probably be different from each other so the stitched seams will be visible to the eye... So, right now, I'm trying to find out how to redistribute their color intensity using the images gradients so that the whole stitched image will have the same color intensity. I hope someone can help me out there and if so, thank you very much...
