• Wyse Simple Imager. Unable to Create Product Directory

  I am trying to submit a post on www.technicalhelp.de, but I receive an error: Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form. This happens if I delete temporary internet files and log out and back in, and if I use a different browser, and if I use a proxy browser. Perhaps someone on this forum can help I am trying to push a Wyse device image to a USB thumb drive. The image is on a remote server, and the thumb drive is connected to my desktop PC. I am using Wyse Simple Imager to do this. When I select the following: Product: V90 Image Version: 5.010627.512 Image File: \servername\folder\OLD_Rapport\V90-withusb\9V90.i2d Almost instantly, without attempting any action, I receive the message: WyseImager Unable to Create Product Directory. Add Image Failed I have completely formatted the USB drive with FAT32. It is new out of the fox, and I can create folders in it. How do I fix this?

• Where does truecrypt store the backup volume header?

  When using WDE, where does (if anywhere) truecrypt store a backup volume header? As i know there is always a backup header for regular truecrypt volumes, however i am not sure if this applies when system encryption is used. Because if i damage the volume header in track 0, my password won't boot my system anymore. So there is no backup header on the drive? I read somewhere on a forum that truecrypt might have a backup header relative to some position from the END of the HDD, however this doesn't make sense as it could easily be wiped over by programs running in Windows. And how would truecrypt know where this backup is anyway?

• DH61AG's mythical 2 pin 19v power socket and is too low of votage bad?

  I have an intel dh61ag motherboard. It has an external 19v power adapter. It also has a 1x2 pin 19VDC internal power connector. Now I cannot find a psu or adapter or anything that will plug into this. In an intel forum, one person said that he plugged half of a 2x2 psu connector in and it worked. Since this would deliver 12v into a socket that asks for 19v, I suspect that this is a bad idea. I don't know much about hardware. Can anyone explain to me why this would be a bad idea?

  Adapting some code from a linux forum, I've added a service script to /etc/init.d on my ubuntu natty server to start/stop/restart node.js It literally was working the first day I made it, but then today, after viewing my website this morning, the server threw a 404, and upon further inspection, the node.js process was gone. So I went to start the service again, only this time, node.js didn't start at all, and ever since I haven't been able to get my service script working. • VLC stream with trickplay

  The idea is to start a video stream from one computer and watch it on another with the ability to start/stop the stream. I think I could do this with VLC but i haven't been able to figure out how. I've tried the following: (From the official forum) Stream with RTSP and RTP: on the server, run: % vlc -vvv input_stream --sout '#rtp{dst=192.168.0.12,port=1234,sdp=rtsp://server.example.org:8080/test.sdp}' on the client(s), run: % vlc rtsp://server.example.org:8080/test.sdp But this doesn't give me the ability to start/stop the stream from the client. According to the VLC release note something called "Trick play" was added in version 1.0. This seems to be what I'm looking for but i can't find any documentation that descibes how to use it.

• Is it safe to set MySQL isolation to "Read Uncommitted" (dirty reads) for typical Web usage? Even with replication?

  I'm working on a website with typical CRUD web usage pattern: similar to blogs or forums where users create/update contents and other users read the content. Seems like it's OK to set the database's isolation level to "Read Uncommitted" (dirty reads) in this case. My understanding of the general drawback of "Read Uncommitted" is that a reader may read uncommitted data that will later be rollbacked. In a CRUD blog/forum usage pattern, will there ever be any rollback? And even if there is, is there any major problem with reading uncommitted data? Right now I'm not using any replication, but in the future if I want to use replication (row-based, not statement-based) will a "Read Uncommitted" isolation level prevent me from doing so? What do you think? Has anyone tried using "Read Uncommitted" on their RDBMS?

• Open mail-links with gmail in Chrome 9

  it happens quite often, that I click a link over a persons name, just to see that it launches the default mail client of my system. I thought it would be a normal link, but it was a "mailto:"-link. I would like Chrome to start gmail, not my default email client. For Firefox, I had only to paste this in the URL-Bar: javascript:window.navigator.registerProtocolHandler("mailto","https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s","GMail") Unfortunately, it doesn't work in Chrome 9. I have found this tutorial for Ubuntu, but I would like a solution in Chome. If it is only in Chrome, I can sync the settings. • Should we regularly schedule mysqlcheck (or databsae optimization)

  We run a forum with some 2 million posts and I've noticed that if left untouched the overhead in the mySQL (as listed in phpMyAdmin) can get quite large (hundreds of megabytes). I'm wondering if scheduling a normal mysqlcheck to optimize the tables is good practice? Any reason not to do it, say, once a week at an off-peak hour? There was a time over the summer where our site was constantly crashing because mysql was using up all resources. That's when I noticed the huge amount of overhead and optimized the database and haven't had any problems since then with stability. I figured if that was helping alleviate the issues, I should just setup a cron to automatically do this.

• "No input file specified" - unable to access phpMyAdmin using debian squeeze

  I have installed phpMyAdmin on my VPS LAMP server (Debian Squeeze/Apache2/MySQL/PHP5), but am unable to access it: //my-ip/phpmyadmin/ and //my-domain/phpmyadmin/ both produce the following error message: "No input file specified". The phpMyAdmin FAQ identifies this as a permission problem, but the suggested solution seems not to apply to my situation. Every other solution I have come across involves removing/purging and reinstalling phpmyadmin - which I have done several times, always to the same result. Previous posts in this forum typically relate to Nginx, which I have not installed. Thanks in advance for any help!

• Firefox addon to display all shortucts

  Is there a firefox addon that would display all shortcuts on a web page and also browser shortcuts. for eg: c is the keyboard shortcut for gmail compose. So either on a particular key combination or by hovering over the compose button it should show a "c" to indicate there is a shortcut for this operation. I guess If we keep on seeing the shortcuts popping each time when we do an action then we can start using and remembering more and more of it. Thanks. • My images look desaturated and brighter on the iPhone than on my Mac (in PS, Pixelmator & Finder)

  I save my image in Photoshop (No Color management). I put it on the iPhone and it looks brighter and desaturated. Also my blue-green looks more like blue. I'm going insane with this because its stealing my time away and i can't fix it. Every bit of help would be appreciated! Do I have to create my own profile? Is there an easy way??

So i want that you help me to choose a virtualisation technologie (for the i prefer KVM of Redhat RHEV, VMWare is expensive), how evaluate the hardware needs (this for evolution of 4 or 5 years) and to elaborate a good planing to don't forget any think.   I haven't used Linux in 5+ years, aside from d/l occasional system recovery CDs off DistroWatch, so I don't know the current landscape. Related postings on this forum are several years old & may not relate to my hardware (Compaq 6710b laptop, Core2Duo Centrino). Requirements: Use the Compaq 6710b laptop's WiFi out of the box enough frequently updated pre-made packages for web hosting & development (Nginx & node.js are biggest concerns, everyone has Apache & PHP, & I'm not crazy about building from source) prefer be easy enough to use, but outside help available (so a small user-base distro is only OK if the community is active & a major disto's packages are compatable) configuration easy to transfer to outside web hosts. You have actually installed/used recommended disto (don't have to be expert) TIA!

• How to arrange 2 SSD with 2 SATA?

  I like to have best io performance as well as good capaciyy and reliability out of a server that hosts a busy forum, which involves loads of static files download. I am wondering what is the best plan to format and use the disks given that the server has only 4 disk bays and I have 2 SSD and 2 SATA disks at hand. I am currently thinking about putting the disks in RAID 10 so that SSD contains /var/lib/mysql as well as most of the OS (Likely to be Debian) and SATA disk to contain /path/to/static/files. However I'd like to hear your expert opinion on this. Thanks

  I see that the most time on computer I loose just for searching a suitable software. How you do it? what is your way to find a software? you first go on Forum?, google? Which torrent site? which P2P prog.? website, server? my problem - my way is: For example: "I need a software that have function remote and also leaves you to copy and paste (drag and drop - file manage). And after few hours searching on Google I download LOGMEIN pro2, but than I see that is just trial. so if I need to find alternative I will spend another whole day Where to go? • Where to run Java and PHP code continuously

  I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for a question like this, but you have to start asking questions somewhere to get anywhere :) The question is pretty simple: I need a server where I can run Java and PHP scripts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I need to be able to access this server via SSH, and I need to be able to retrieve the data generated by scripts using SCP. Also, I need to be able to run 10-20 scripts simultaneously. What is the name of the thing I should be looking for? Is it a dedicated server? I'm confused for 2 reasons: 1) because there seem to be all kinds of servers out there; 2) because most companies advertising dedicated servers seem to be aiming them at people who want to host websites. But I don't want to host a website; I just want to run my code.

• Outlook 2010 keeps asking me to Choose Profile

  This question has been asked and the answer given seemed to work for others who asked it, but it doesn't work for me. Here's what happened: the other day my power blinked twice within seconds and it caused my computer to reboot. Ever since then, I get a prompt from Outlook 2010 asking me to choose a profile, either when I load the program or when the program is not even running. The only option is "Outlook", and even when I check "set as default" it keeps asking me. I went to Windows (Vista) Control Panel, and searched for "mail" as someone suggested. The only search result that seemed relevant was "Change default programs that Windows uses". From there, I choose Custom/Choose a default email program/Outlook. There is nothing regarding "profiles" as the forum answer suggests, and it doesn't solve the problem. Also, I did all of this while Outlook was not running. Can someone help?

  I've been searching for hours for a Unity 4.5 plugin that allows users to watch youtube video in an android app. (I've found several solutions for IOS but not android!). Can anyone give me some pointers? I've tried uwebkit(which only works for IOS), vuforia, and many google.com suggestions I found online. None of them worked and its very fustrating. I just want to watch a youtube video via an unity app in android phone/tablet. It shouldn't be that hard of a task /=. • How to run Medisoft Patient Accounting Demo on Windows 7?

  I installed Medisoft Patient Accounting Demo but every time I try to run it, I get this error: tblExclusiveNew: One of the Database property or the AdsConnection property must have a value. I click OK and then get this error: Exception AdsConnectionError in module MW.EXE at 001FA701. Must specify connection string before getting a server connection. The program then immediately exits. Then a get this error: Ar3import -An error has occurred dmIPCCommunication: No core product found I click close and then: Ar3import-An error has occurred An unspecified error has occurred, please call tech support Googling was no help. Even the Medisoft tech on the Medisoft forum thread I found was unable to fix it. Is this fixable?

  I'm using Thunderbird 12.0.1 with the following add-ons for the calendar : Lightning 1.4 Provider for Google calendar 0.9 I'm working with Ubuntu 12.04 My problem is when I receive an event invitation from outlook or gmail, the mail is correctly identified by Thunderbird (I have the message "this message contains an invitation to an event"). In the pretty little box in the mail (the one which contains all the details), there is no "Accpet" or "Decline" button... I found on the Lightning forum that this bug was fixed in Lightning V.1.0b2 So my question is : why do I still have this bug ??? Best regards

• How to set up server to be accessed from mobile devices [closed]

  I need to set up a server that will eventually be accessed from an Android application. I don't have experience with how to go about this, but I've seen MySQL servers (Amazon EC2). I would need to store data on the server remotely (again, from a mobile device) and fetch it to display. What would be the best kind of server to use? I'm guessing I would only need around 50 GB of space. Is it possible to use a network drive and set that up as a remote server with an IP address? I would need to upload and extract data through java on Android. This is my first question on ServerFault, and I'm not sure if it's the appropriate forum. If not, please redirect me.

• What's the story with ubuntu?

  Guys, I've tried to install ubuntu 10.10 desktop ed. on my laptop and unfortunately it didn't detect my keyboard (it detects my mouse) so I couldn't finish installation. Is it something wrong I'm doing? There isn't really much to specify during the installation process and I'm really dissapointed that such trivial task as installation cannot be done without asking a question on a forum. Or maybe just because I'm trying to install it on my laptop I shall download notebook edition? But that sound silly to me.
