  In sdkddkver.h of the Windows Platform SDK, there are various OS versions defined as NTDDI_*. For example, Windows XP and its service packs are defined as: #define NTDDI_WINXP 0x05010000 #define NTDDI_WINXPSP1 0x05010100 #define NTDDI_WINXPSP2 0x05010200 #define NTDDI_WINXPSP3 0x05010300 #define NTDDI_WINXPSP4 0x05010400 There are also masks which, along with the OSVER, SPVER, and SUBVER macros, allow you to pull the respective parts out of the NTDDI version. #define OSVERSION_MASK 0xFFFF0000 #define SPVERSION_MASK 0x0000FF00 #define SUBVERSION_MASK 0x000000FF I have all of these defined as constants in C# and what I'd like to do now is convert the data returned by Environment.OSVersion to a value corresponding to one of the NTDDI versions in sdkddkver.h. I could make a massive switch statement, but that's not really as future-proof as I'd like it to be. I would need to update the conversion method every time a new OS or service pack is released. I have a feeling this could be done with the help of some bitwise operators, but I'll be honest and say that those aren't my strong point. I appreciate any help!

  I have a data tier select method that returns a datatable. It's called from a business tier method that should then return a strongly typed generic List. What I want to do is very similar (but not the same as) this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/208532/how-do-you-convert-a-datatable-into-a-generic-list What's different is that I want the list to contain strongly-typed objects rather than datarows (also, I don't have linq avaiable here yet). I'm concerned about performance. The business tier method will in turn be called from the presentation tier, and the results will be iterated for display to the user. It seems very wasteful to add an extra iteration at the business tier, only do it again right away for the presentation, so I want this to be as quick as possible. This is a common task, so I'm really looking for a good pattern that can be repeated over and over.

  I have a dynamic Flot graph with dates on the x-axis and numbers on the y-axis. To get the Flot-plugin to read the date object correctly, I had to convert the dates to ticks (with getTime()). My problem is that I can't revers the ticks back to a normal date in my tooltip hover on the graph. I've tried to revers it with this: dateTimeObject = new Date((jsTicks - 621355968000000000) / 10000); All I get, no matter what jsTicks is, is "Jan 02 0001 hh:mm:ss (almost current time)" What am I doing wrong?

  I have an XML which uses the XPDL standard (which has an XML schema). What I'm trying to do now is to convert its content to RDF format (serialized in XML), in terms of a certain ontology. Clearly, there needs to be some sort of mapping here. I would like to do this using PHP. The thing is, I have no idea how to do this best. I know how to read an XML file, but how would the mappings occur? What would be a good approach?

  Hi, If I have a latitude or longitude reading in standard NMEA format is there an easy way / forumla to convert that reading to meters, which I can then implement in Java (J9)? Edit: Ok seems what I want to do is not possible /easily/, however what I really want to do is: Say I have a lat and long of a way point and a lat and long of a user is there an easy way to compare them to decide when to tell the user they are within a /reasonably/ close distance of the way point?   I'm looking at what is needed to move from wordpress.com to a BlogEngine.NET or similar blog. I've seen a tool for replacing export.php so that it will export your wordpress site in BlogML format so it can easily be imported into BlogEngine.NET, however I'd really not want to have to setup php/wordpress just so I can import a back up from wordpress.com and then use the export from my local wordpress to have a BlogML file. Are there any tools that will convert the wordpress file? Is there a different blog that will natively import the wordpress file? Edit: For the question about other blog providers, I am open to them as long as they are .NET based, preferably C#.

  Hello, i have a set of select inputs representing a users birthday: birthyear, birthmonth and birthday. And i want to validate birthyear like this: validates_inclusion_of :birthyear, :in => Date.today.year-50..Date.today.year-12 So the user can be at least 12 years but at most 50 years when they are registering. But my problem is that the variable from the input is a string and not an integer. So how can i convert the input to an integer? or is there any easier way to check the users age? Thanks, Micke

I've using this: NSDictionary *dict; [dict objectForKey:[[city stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]] lowercaseString]]; But, it doesn't work. I know, I can do a for, convert keys to lowercase and compare with city. Is there any other way to do that? Maybe, with a NSDictionary method. UPDATE The NSDictionary is loaded from a property list.   Hi Guys, I recently received an email about a guy who like to make my software compatible with 64Bit Windows 7 OS. I have 1 single problem though .. I have followed a steps regarding on compiling VS Solution/Project for 64bit. But when I start to to compile the solution for 64bit, this "Crownwood.Magic.Forms" (MagicLibrary.dll) doesn't work anymore. This is the compilation error message "Error 6 The type or namespace name 'Crownwood' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)" Please don't tell me I did not referenced the MagicLibrary.dll It's a bit of confusing because the MagicLibrary.dll is already in my reference list. I also remove and add it back. There was this CorFlags.exe but am not sure how to convert it to 64bit. "CorFlags MagicLibrary.dll /32BIT- /Force" did not work.. :( Please help. Thanks in advance - Jayson

The XML looks like this: (fragment) <startingPoint coordinates="1,1" player="1" /> and so far my LINQ looks something like this: XNamespace ns = "http://the_namespace"; var startingpoints = from sp in xml.Elements(ns+"startingPoint") from el in sp.Attributes() select el.Value; Which gets me a nice IEnumerable full of things like "1,1" and "1", but there should be a way to adapt something like this answer to do attributes instead of elements.   I've got a C# function that converts a byte array to a class, given it's type: IntPtr buffer = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(rawsize); Marshal.Copy(data, 0, buffer, rawsize); object result = Marshal.PtrToStructure(buffer, type); Marshal.FreeHGlobal(buffer); I use sequential structs: [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { } This worked fine, until I tried to convert to a struct/class containing a byte array. [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public new class PacketFormat : Packet.PacketFormat { public byte header; public byte[] data = new byte[256]; } Marshal.SizeOf(type) returns 16, which is too low (should be 257) and causes Marshal.PtrToStructure to fail with the following error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I'm guessing that using a fixed array would be a solution, but can it also be done without having to resort to unsafe code?

  Hello friends, In my project, I have so many .png images. They are working properly in Firefox but when I run my project on Internet Explorer, i get white background in that images. I have used some Image converters but they are also not giving the proper result. After converting, the resolution gets changed. So can any one suggest me some good Converter that will not change the resolution of image and will also convert the .png images to .gif images?
