  • How to filter RSOP to show only modified policies?

    Is it possible to view only those elements of GPO that are actually modified/specified? For example, when looking at RSOP for an OU, I have loads of options which are mostly not specified - can I automatically filter it to show only e.g. that it doesn't allow to use control panel or install software, instead of looking through all options? I am using Win2003 and I have only the default tools. Thanks in advance!

    I have simple app that renders some particles and now I am trying to apply the bloom shader from the xna samplers ( http://create.msdn.com/en-US/education/catalog/sample/bloom ) to it, but I am running into this exception: "XNA Framework HiDef profile requires TextureFilter to be Point when using texture format Vector4."   • Is there a global "low resolution" filter for OpenGL?

    I'm trying to learn a little about OpenGL, so I'm making a simple 2D game (with OpenTK), and so far it's coming along well. I thought it would be fun to give it that, for lack of a better word, retropixelated look of games from the early nineties. I figured it would be an easy thing to do -- simply draw everything at half its normal size and scale up with no anti-aliasing. But I can't find any resources on how to do this. I can set the min/mag filters of my textures to nearest and that works fine for my sprites, but I'm using lots of primitives and I'd like the effect to apply to them as well. The one idea I had was to draw everything at half size, then somehow copy the render buffer to a texture, then render that texture full-size, but I don't know how to do that, and it seems like there must be a better way. Can anyone help me out?

I'm not linking the index.php/.. url anywhere, but for some reasons, some users arrives to the index.php url. In Google analytics, I have a lot of duplicates that are quite annoying to follow up the traffic. I've watched the Advanced filters but I'm struggling to make it works fine.     Hi, I have checked several "Tracker Search Tool" questions, but they all stop at very superficial usage. Google, at least for me, didn't turn out anything either. Here is my situation: I have a lot of documents, and I want to index them all, and do fulltext searching on them. I have organized them by folders in advance, and sometimes I want to search across all subfolders, sometimes only in a specific subfolders. Is there any way to do it? Right now, I am changing the locations in the search preferences and triggering a hard-reset of the Tracker database, but that's far from ideal. I am using Maverick, 10.10.

    I have been using Empathy and more recently Pidgin as my IRC client. But there is one feature missing from both of these clients that keeps bothering me. I want to be able to see only what people are actually talking about in each channel. I often like to leave IRC channels open and go back to them and read the messages for the last few hours or days. I saw that IRC clients have been discussed in this post and a few others, but I have not found what I am looking for yet.   • How to go about designing an intermediate routing filter program to accept input and forward accordingly?

    My predicament: I designed an app, written in Python, to read my mail and check for messages that contain a certain digital signature. It opens these and looks for keywords. If the message contains these keywords, certain related functions area executed on the computer. It is a way I can control my computer from my cell phone without being there. I am still in the beginning stages and it can only currently remotely open and close applications/processes. The obvious issue is security risks. I hoped to spearhead that by requiring and checking for that digital signature. However, my issue comes when I'd like to make this program usable by multiple users. The idea is that the user will send keywords: username and password, for instance, to log into their personal email account and send messages to it to be parsed. Please ignore the security implications of sending non-encoded passwords through email. (Though if you could help me on that part I'd much appreciate it as well, but currently, that is not the scope of my question.) My issue is designing an intermediary process that will take an email/password to read an email and scan for those keywords. The issue is, that the program has to be accessing an email to read the email for the username/password! I have got myself into a loop and cannot figure out how to have this required intermediary program. I could just create an arbitrary email account and have that check for login-creds, but is there a better way of doing this than that? Also, is there a better way of communicating with a computer remotely than this? Especially if the computer is not a server and is behind a router with only a subnet ip? If I am asking this question in the wrong place, I deeply apologize. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Could this server log mean my server is being used as a proxy?

    I came across the following entry in my access.log: 58.218.199.147 - - [05/Jun/2012:12:56:04 +1000] "GET http://proxyproxys.com/ HTTP/1.1" 200 183 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)" Normally when I see a full URL entry in my access.log I assume it is log spam with people trying to get me to access their site. These entries are normally followed with a 404 response. The above entry is followed with a 200 'success' response! Doing some searching it would seem that this can occur when someone is trying to use your server as a proxy. This disturbed me more - especially because the URL in question has the word proxy in it.   • What do the readonly attributes in diskpart really mean?

    I am wondering exactly what the meaning is of the "Read-only" disk and volume attributes that you can twiddle in diskpart on Windows 7. I am trying to set up an external USB drive as an installation medium for my own software, so I'd like to protect it against casual or inadvertent changes by users who it is given to, so they don't screw up the installation files they might need in the future. From what I can tell by experimentation with diskpart, the volume read-only attribute is actually stored on the physical disk somewhere, because I can set it and it shows up when I take the drive to another machine. This is great because my users can't (easily) change any of the files on the volume, or format it from Windows explorer. However, the disk read-only attribute seems to be just an aspect of how the current machine is accessing the drive. When I set it I can no longer delete the volume in the disk via Disk Management, but when I take the drive to another machine, the attribute is no longer set and in Disk Management I can delete the volume on the disk. I guess I'm not that worried about my users doing that, but I am annoyed that I don't understand what these attributes are really doing. Another thing that I don't understand is that the "volume" read-only attribute actually seems to be global to the disk - if I have two volumes on the disk, and I set the readonly flag on one of them, then it gets set on the other one too. ?!? I have the feeling I'm not searching for the right docs - all I'm finding is diskpart docs that give the syntax for twiddling these attributes, not what they really mean.   • From a performance standpoint, is there a preferred way to set up Thunderbird message filters?

    When I used Kontact, I used filters heavily to sort my incoming email into various folders. Since switching to Thunderbird, I've been slowly recreating these filters as new mail arrives. This seems like the perfect time to rethink how I use message filters. The way I see it, there are two basic ways to filter messages. Either I can have lots of filters, or I can have lots of criteria. An example is in order. Assume that I get emails from four people (Boss, CEO, Intern, and StackOverflow) that I want to sort into two folders, "Stack" and "Work" Option A: Filter 1: if FROM contains "Boss" -> move to "Work" Filter 2: if FROM contains "CEO" -> move to "Work" Filter 3: if FROM contains "Intern" -> move to "Work" Filter 4: if FROM contains "StackOverflow" -> move to "Stack" Option B: Filter 1: if FROM contains "Boss" OR FROM contains "CEO" OR FROM contains "Intern" -> move to "Work" Filter 2: if FROM contains "StackOverflow" -> move to "Stack" Assuming that when I'm done, I'll have about a hundred different criteria to filter on, is one of these methods better than the other from a performance standpoint?

I know HOW to do this, but I am a little unsure what the consequences might be. What does it mean to install Ubuntu alongside Windows? Do they share the same resources? Also, I have my HDD already partitioned into two sections, a 70 GB section where Windows is installed and then another 400 GB section where all my data is stored. There is currently 26 GB free on the 70GB partition. I know Ubuntu doesn't take up much space. However, if I install Ubuntu in that space, will I still be able to install programs on Windows in the future? My main concern is that I am going to short-change my hard drive space for future installations. EDIT: I guess another big question I have is if I install a program on one OS, will the other be able to use it?

    I have a problem with SOLR searching. When i`am searching query: dog* everything is ok, but when query is Dog*(with first capital letter), i get no results. Any advice?   • Grails g:paginate tag and custom URL

    Hello, I am trying to use g:paginate in a shared template where depending on the controller, url changes e.g. For my homepage url should be : mydomain[DOT]com/news/recent/(1..n) For search Page: www[DOT]mydomain[DOT]com/search/query/"ipad apps"/filter/this month and my g:paginate looks like this: g:paginate controller=${customeController} action=${customAction} total:${total} For the first case, I was able to provide controller as 'news' and action as 'recent' and mapped url /news/recent/$offset to my controller. But for the search page, I am not able to achieve what I want to do. I have a URL mapping defined as /search/$filter**(controller:"search",action:"fetch") $filter can be /query/"ipad apps"/filter/thismonth/filter/something/filter/somethingelse. I want to be able to show the url as above rather than ?query="ipad apps"&filter=thismonth&filter=something&filter=somethingelse. I believe I can pass all the parameters in params attribute of g:paginate but that will not give me pretty URL. What would be the best way to achieve this? Please feel free to ask questions If i missed anything.Thanks in advance.
