  • Restoring and passing data to an already running instance of a .NET application

    - by mtranda
    The goal is to have an application that runs in the system tray and can either accept user input from its actual GUI (which isn't the actual issue) OR accept command line parameters (that would actually be done via a context menu in windows explorer). Now, while I'm aware that the command line parameters are not exactly possible once the application has started, I need a way to pass data to the already running application instance via some form of handler. I'm thinking maybe define and raise some sort of event? Thanks in advance.

  • Linking and Redirecting between multiple applications running under a single system folder

    - by Gurunandan
    I am running multiple applications with a single Codeigniter system/ folder using the recommended way on the Codeigniter wiki. Each application runs fine and I can link between apps using absolute URLs. Is there some way I can use or extend the URL helper class (functions like anchor(), redirect()... etc.) to generate links to controllers across applications. I would like to avoid absolute URLs Thanks!

A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." but in firefox it's functioning well.

  • Running the same code for get(self) as post(self)

    - by Peter Farmer
    Its been mentioned in other answers about getting the same code running for both the def get(self) and the def post(self) for any given request. I was wondering what techniques people use, I was thinking of: class ListSubs(webapp.RequestHandler): def get(self): self._run() def post(self): self._run() def _run(self): self.response.out.write("This works nicely!")

  • Uploading files to a server that has Real Time Antivirus scan running

    - by zecougar
    I need to allow users to upload files onto a server that has an antivirus program running with real-time scanning switched on. What would be a good design to ensure that infected files are not uploaded to the server. Questions - would large files be copied onto disk and then immediately scanned, or would they be scanned as they are copied and not allowed to appear on disk if infected Should i build a seperate infrastructure around this to specifically ionvoke a scan on the copied file ? this might be an issue if the file is deleted through the real-time scan

  • Running a program on multiple PC's

    - by Jason T.
    I have some of the basic coding down for the program but I do need assistance with something. My goal is to have an alarm go off on multiple PC's in a network indicating that a certain task needs done. Anyone who receives this alarm may stop it, complete the task and log that they did that. What would be the best way to accomplish this in a network? But not every computer in the network will be running this program, just a few.

  • Limitations in running Ruby on windows7

    - by orkutscraps
    n the installation documentation to RoR it mentions that there are many limitations to running Ruby on Rails on Windows7, and in some cases, whole libraries do not work. How bad are these limitations, should I always default to Linux to code / run RoR, and is Iron Ruby expected to fix these limitations or are they core to the OS itself?

  • IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts problem

    - by moustafa
    Hi, I would like to have some rotating sequential images on my home page of my website. I do not know how to do this and have found code on the internet for only displaying random images. The main problem is this. Every time the page loads I get a pop-up "to help protect your security, IE has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer". Please can someone help prehaps with an example to enable this to work without this pop-up Thanks Richard

  • pass commands to an running R-Runtime

    - by tiny81
    Hi, is there a way to pass commands (from a shell) to an all ready running R-runtime/R-Gui, without copy&past. So far I only know how to call R via shell with the -f or -e option, but in both cases a new R-Runtime will process the R-Script or R-Command I passed to it. I rather would like to have an open R-Runtime waiting for commands passed to it (via what ever connection is possible). regrads, Tiny

    Code is not running on .click when I have this: $(".cancel").click(function() { alert("got here"); $(this).closest(":dialog").dialog("close"); }); <a class="cancel" href=""><img src="images/cancelButton.gif" border="0" /></a> It's got to be something stupid, but I cannot see it.

  • running a python script on a remote computer

    - by Richard
    Hello all, I have a python script and am wondering is there any way that I can ensure that the script run's continuously on a remote computer? Like for example, if the script crashes for whatever reason, is there a way to start it up automatically instead of having to remote desktop. Are there any other factors I have to be aware of? The script will be running on a window's machine.

  • Running C++ functions simultaneously

    - by user2974881
    My code is similar to the following: int main() { values(); } int values() { if (condition) { 'code' } else if (condition) { 'code' } else { 'code' } motors(); } int motors() { 'code' } motors() needs values from values() to run. What could I do so that values() and motors() run simultaneously, side by side, and keep running until the user exits out of the program?

  • How do I fix “Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode?” for NVIDIA GeForce GT555M

    - by David Chen
    As title, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, and my ubuntu kept showing the sign “Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode”. I've read another question with same topic (http://askubuntu.com/questions/10664/how-do-i-fix-ubuntu-is-running-in-low-graphics-mode ), but the other one is using ATI Radeon X1200. How can I fix the problem? I'm running Ubuntu on a 200GB partition, and the rest of my computer is Windows7. My graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M, and my computer is ACER ASPIRE 5951G.
