  • How do you find out release, mailing list statistics information on open source projects

    We are interested in finding out some statistics of various frameworks Mailing list activity on say richfaces. Much similar to what is available on http://code.google.com (Low, Medium, High) + average number of emails per day | per month. Number of releases made in a year including patch, minor, major releases. We did look at the maven repositories but that wasn't very useful either. We did look at ohloh, but didn't get the desired information. Any other ideas on where to get this information (any maven-2 plugins)?

I draw simple grid using lines and game mark (using rectangle). How i can set rentacle position correctly?   • Git ignore file for vb.net projects

    Placing a vb.net project under git control in windows (was previously under VSS - long sad story of repository corruption, etc). How should I set up the ignore file? The exclusions I'm thinking of using are: *.exe *.pdb *.manifest *.xml *.log (is git case sensitive on windows? Should I exclude *.Log as well?) *.scc (I gather these were left over from VSS - maybe I should delete them?) Is this a sensible list? Should I be excluding directories?

  • Extand legacy site with another server-side programming platform best practice

    Company I work for have a site developed 6-8 years ago by a team that was enthusiastic enough to use their own private PHP-based CMS. I have to put dynamic data from one intranet company database on this site in one week: 2-3 pages. I contacted company site administrator and she showed me administrative part - CMS allows only to insert html blocks & manage site map (site is deployed on machine that is inside company & fully accessible & upgradable). I'm not a PHP-guy & I don't want to dive into legacy hardly-who-ever-heard-about CMS engine I also don't want to contact developers team, 'cos I'm not sure they are still present and capable enough to extend this old days site and it'll take too much time anyway. I am about to deploy helper asp.net site on iis with 2-3 pages required & refer helper site via iframe from present site. New pages will allow to download some dynamic content from present site also. Is it ok and what are the pitfalls with iframe approach?

  • Where to put my xUnit tests for an F# assembly?

    I'm working on my first 'real' F# assembly, and trying to do things right. I've managed to get xUnit working too, but currently my test module is inside the same assembly. This bothers me a bit, because it means I'll be shipping an assembly where nearly half the code (and 80% of the API) is test methods. What is the 'right' way to do this? If I put the tests in another assembly, I think that means I have to expose internals that I'd rather keep private. I know that in C# there is a friend mechanism for tests (if that's the right terminology), is there an equivalent in F#? Alternatively, can anyone point me to an example project where this is being done 'properly'?

    Are there any existing table sorting libraries, or is there a way to configure tablesorter, to sort every two rows? Alternatly, is there a better way to semantially express my table such that standard row sorting will work.   • VS2008 Express no longer opens projects after VS2010 express Phone

    So I installed the new april release of the VS2010 express for windows phone 7 and now VS2008 express C# no longer opens .csproj files. I'm at a loss as to why this is as I've not changed anything in the files themselves. I'm currently uninstalling windows phone 7 in the hopes that I will be able to open my files again. I have a feeling though I'm going to need to uninstall 2008 as well and the reinstall it to get everything to work. In the future how should I install 2010 express for win 7 phone to prevent it from interfering with 2008 express?

  • Using NHibernate to insert/update using a SQL server-side DEFAULT value

    Several of our database tables contain LastModifiedDate columns. We would like these to stay synchronized based on a single time-source. Our best time-source, in this case, is the SQL Server itself since there is only one database server but multiple application servers which could potentially be off sync. I would like to be able to use NHibernate, but have it use either GETUTCDATE() or DEFAULT for the column value when updating or inserting rows on these tables. Thoughts?

  • Using GLOrtho to view Side, Front, Top perspectives of a 3D scene

    Dear all, I'm building a game level editing app as part of a university project. In my application I have multiple viewports, a Perspective viewport and three orthographic views all setup to view the same scene. I've successfuly setup the orthographic views and can translate and scale them to mimic scrolling and zooming. Unfortunately, I'm having one problem - my scene still contains 3 dimensions, so objects viewed in orthographic mode of certain depths are clipped when they fall outside of my clipping volume. Most 3D authoring tools or level editors allow you to view all objects in orthographic mode regardless of depth. I guess what I need to do is scale my scene in the appropriate dimension so that all values lie between 1 and -1, is there a straightforward way of going about this?   • What is the main purpose and sense to have staging server the same as production?

    Hi, In our company we have staging and production servers. I'm trying to have them in state 1:1 after latest release. We've got web application running on several host and many instances of it. The issue is that I am an advocate of having the same architecture (structure) of web applications on staging and production servers to easily test new features and avoid creating of new bugs with new releases. But not everyone agree with me, and for them is not a such big deal to have different connection between staging application instances. Even maybe to have more application and connections between application on staging than on production server. I would like to ask about pros and cons of such an approach? I mean some good points to agree with me, or some bad why maybe i don't have right. Some examples of consequences and so forth.

When a has_one b, a.save! will save a prior to b. If I am right, why is this the case? It doesn't seem logical to me. Why has_one and has_many association have different order in saving? Any ideas?     I've added a EULA using VS2005's built in License Agreement UI form in a Setup Project. This form has a LicenseFile property that you set to an RTF file that displays the EULA. Assuming I have a number of translated RTFs, how can I make the EULA that is displayed point to the appropriate RTF localized to the user's Windows CurrentCulture settings? I've seen some articles on WiX but at this point I need to stick with our current installation setup. Thanks!

What is causing this crosstalk between the two icons/drawables? Shouldn't the system handle things like mutate() in this case? I've included a screenshot:

    I have heard a lot about version control and would like to work on it. I read some tutorials about the same. However i am not quite sure how svn works with xampp. I have installed svn, Tortoise svn and made the necessary changes in xampp. For instance i copied the two required modules to c:/xampp/apache/modules and also made changes to the conf file in apache. Here are the changes made in c:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf. # Configure Subversion repository <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNPath “C:\svn” AuthType Basic AuthName “Subversion repository” AuthUserFile “c:\svn_conf\passwd” Require valid-user </Location>t I created the repository at c:/svn and also created the password file. However when i visit http:/localhost/svn i get a 404 page not found error. Where am i going wrong. what am i missing.? Any pointers?? Thanks in advance.

We thought of two strategies for handling this: Have our continuous integration server (TeamCity, in this case, but I've used others before and they seem to have the same issue) point to the aggregator POM file, and just build everything Have our continuous integration server point at each individual module Is there a standard, preferred practice for this? I've checked Stack Overflow, Google, the Continuous Integration book, and did not find anything, but maybe I missed it.
