• Prototypejs .evalJSON not returning object

If I run .evalJSON(true) (to sanitize) an error happens within prototype saying "json" is undefined. The same happens if I do .evalJSON(). If I do .evalJSON with no parenthesis, then data is just an empty object and no error happens. Is there something wrong with my JSON?

• Scheduling Swingworker threads

  Hi, I have a 2 processes to perform in my swing application, one to fill a list, and one to do operations on each element on the list. I've just moved the 2 processes into Swingworker threads to stop the GUI locking up while the tasks are performed, and because I will need to do this set of operations to several lists, so concurrency wouldn't be a bad idea in the first place. However, when I just ran fillList.execute();doStuffToList.execute(); the doStuffToList thread to ran on the empty list (duh...). How do I tell the second process to wait until the first one is done? I suppose I could just nest the second process at the end of the first one, but i dunno, it seems like bad practice.

• How can I drag and drop a xaml activity to a WF4 rehosted designer?

  I understand that the WorkflowDesigner can receive a dragged item in several ways, for example: By dragging an item from the toolbox and dropping it on the designer: an empty activity of that type will be inserted on the designer at the drop location. One can also drag an activity from the designer and drop it on another location in the designer, the dragged activity will be inserted at the drop location as well. Is it possible that similar to these two drag and drop mechanism, I can drag a xaml activity to the designer? What I have in mind is this, Let's say you have a ListView containing several xaml files. I want to be able to drag one of the ListView items (ie one of the xaml files), and when I drag it over the designer it will act as if I drag something from the toolbox (except the activity will be supplied from the xaml). I know I can create a runtime Activity from the file by using ActivityXamlServices.Load(filename), and I want this activity to be inserted at the drop location. But how to tell the application to understand this when I drag and drop?

• Best way to produce automated exports in tab-delimited form from Teradata?

  I would like to be able to produce a file by running a command or batch which basically exports a table or view (SELECT * FROM tbl), in text form (default conversions to text for dates, numbers, etc are fine), tab-delimited, with NULLs being converted to empty field (i.e. a NULL colum would have no space between tab characters, with appropriate line termination (CRLF or Windows), preferably also with column headings. This is the same export I can get in SQL Assistant 12.0, but choosing the export option, using tab delimiter, setting my NULL value to '' and including column headings. I have been unable to find the right combination of options - the closest I have gotten is by building a single column with CAST and '09'XC, but the rows still have a leading 2-byte length indicator in most settings I have tried. I would prefer not to have to build large strings for the various different tables.

• Silverlight WCF service acting strange

  Hi I have a silverlight project that calls into a wcf service. Everything works fine on my local machine. However when I deploy to a virtual machine, with the exact same query the wcf service returns, but the result is empty. I've tried debugging, but have not been able to get it to break in the wcf service. Any ideas what the problem could be, or how I could go about debugging it? Thanks I figured out what the problem is, but am not sure what the solution is. In my silverlight project the wcf service I am referencing is http://localhost/.../SilverlightApiService.svc I used fiddler on my vm to see the request that was made and instead of trying to contact the above service, it was trying to contact: http:///.../SilverlightApiService.svc So, for some reason my machine name is getting inserted in there instead of localhost. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  Hey all, A short while ago, I'm fairly certain I came across an application (or perhaps a plugin for Coda - the IDE I use) which quickly parses a html document and then spits out all of the elements with IDs and Classes for me to use in a CSS file. Having fully 'got into' zen coding - using the wonderful TEA plugin for Coda, I'm now hot on the heels of this app/plugin again. I've tried and failed miserably at hunting through Google, but have come up completely empty handed. Does anyone know of anything which can do this? Happy New Year everyone!

  I have installed Ubuntu Server 10.10 and I am using it to host a domain that I have. I am trying to set up FTP for the server, but I am running into some problems. I have successfully installed vsFTPd and I have opened up ports 20, 21 on my firewall. In my vsFTPd configuration, I have enabled SSL. • Windows Vista, Default Programs API, file format associations, and (un)installers - explosive mix!

  My application is a rather well behaved Windows citizen, so when I ported it to Windows Vista/7 I replaced my custom file format association code with support for the Default Programs API. However I ran into a problem when trying to make uninstaller for my application - there seems to be no way to remove file format associations via Default Programs API. I tried to call IApplicationAssociationRegistration::ClearUserAssociations but it actually removes all associations, including the ones for other applications - completely restoring default state of the OS (which is of course unacceptable). I tried to call IApplicationAssociationRegistration::SetAppAsDefault to return file format associations to the previous "owner" - but it does not help, because my application handles many unique file formats which the OS does not support and there is no previous "owners". And Windows does not allow to pass empty strings to SetAppAsDefault... So what do I do? Any good solutions?

  I am basic - intermediate developer using php and am a little stumped as to what I have found. I need some help in understanding how to alleviate this issue: I have a page called send.email.php which sends an email - pretty simple stuff - I pass an order id, it creates job request and sends it out. This works fine when used in the context I developed it (Use javascript to make an AJAX call to the URL and pass the order_id as a query parameter) I am now trying to reuse the exact same page in another application however I am calling it using php file_get_contents($base_url.'admin/send.email.php?order_id='.$order_id). When I call the page this way, the $_SESSION array is empty isempty() = 1. Is this because I am initiating a new session using file_get_contents and the values I stored in the $_SESSION on login are not available to me within there? Any help? Thanks

• Exceptions using CruiseControl.NET

  I recently updated to CC.NET 1.5 and I'm now getting some strange exceptions. On one project I get: - ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Core.CruiseControlException: Source control operation failed: svn: Can't create a character converter from native encoding to 'UTF-8' This happens when CC is checking a subversion repository for any mods. If I run the actual command line CC says is failing it works and returns an empty XML (there are no mods). Some other projects also fail to check mods with another "Source control operation failed" exception but no further info. Again the command is an "svn log" which when run from command line works ok. • MySQL is running VERY slow on CentOS 6x (not 5x)

  I have two servers: a VPS and a laptop. I recently re-built both of them, and MySQL is running about 20 times slower on the laptop. Both servers used to run CentOS 5.8 and I think MySQL 5.1, and the laptop used to do great so I do not think it is the hardware. For the VPS, my provider installed CentOS 6.4, and then I installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. For the laptop, I installed CentOS 6.4 basic server and then installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. my.cnf for both servers are identical, and I have shown below. For both servers, I've also included below the output from SHOW VARIABLES; as well as output from sysbench, file system information, and cpu information. I have tried adding skip-name-resolve, but it didn't help. The matrix below shows the SHOW VARIABLES output from both servers which is different. Again, MySQL was installed the same way, so I do not know why it is different, but it is and I think this might be why the laptop is executing MySQL so slowly. Why is the laptop running MySQL slowly, and how do I fix it? • Troubleshooting an unstable internet connection

  My MacBook Pro running OS X (10.9, but I had the same problem before) is connected to a Belkin router via WiFi and, using Virgin Media as the ISP, to the internet. The connection is extremely unstable – on some days, I get a ping timeout every few seconds. In addition, some domains seem to suffer general connectivity issues. For instance, I often find that while the youtube.com website loads, none of the videos (which are hosted on a separate domain) do. At other times, videos load but always fail to buffer, even though the actual connection speed is ok, even though I’ve disabled dash playback. Since I’m living in a rented room and the ISP contract isn’t actually mine I’ve got only limited possibilities of addressing the problem. In particular, I have no access to the router configuration and my non tech savvy landlady, while sympathetic, is not in a great hurry to hand the problem over to the ISP’s customer support. What’s more, I seem to be the only person in the house experiencing these problems – but I can imagine that this is simply because I’m the only one who’s using the internet continuously. I’m searching for specific tests that might be able to pinpoint – and ideally solve – the problem. So far all I’ve managed to do is establish that Virgin is routing my traffic in mysterious ways. Here’s an excerpt from traceroute google.co.uk. A friend living in the same town who is also with Virgin Media has a more conventional traceroute output: 7 hops to google.co.uk, all of which send the ICMP TIME_EXCEEDED response. The obvious fix – rebooting the router – doesn’t seem to help. As far as I can tell, the WiFi connection is stable (I can always ping the router) so the problem is further downstream. I’ve tried using an alternative DNS before (OpenDNS) but if anything, this made things worse. In fact, it made all Google services nigh unreachable.

• Override the neutral language of a specific resource file within an assembly

  I have an assembly that contains several resource files. Most of them have the neutral language 'nl' (Dutch, specified on the assembly as the neutral language), so I don't specify the 'nl' in their filenames. However, I'm putting strings in the English language in some other resource files (they are internal error messages) and I will never provide Dutch translations of them. If I name those resource files something like 'Errors.en.resx', no designer class is generated (breaks the build) because there is no 'Errors.resx'. This is annoying because now I have to put 'en' strings into a 'nl'-implied resource file and I really don't want to translate those strings to 'nl' or provide empty strings just to satisfy the compiler. Is there a way to override the neutral language on a specific resource file or perhaps somehow have the 'Errors.en.resx' build a designer class?

  I'm making a version of Martian Chess in java with AI and so far I THINK my move searching is semi-working, it seems to work alright for some depths but if I use a depth of 3 it returns a move for the opposite side...now the game is a bit weird because when a piece crosses half of the board, it becomes property of the other player so I think this is part of the problem.   I'm unable to retrieve data from an XML document, any help is greatly appreciated. I'm using PHP 5.2.10 and the WSDL url is an internal link within my company. • CruiseControl failing view compilation with Asp.net MVC 2 RTM

  Tehnologies: - CruiseControlNet - Asp.net MVC 2 RTM - enabled view compilation The problem is UrlParameter.Optional setting. I can't seem to make it work when I use this setting inside a view. When I compile inside Visual Studio, everything works fine, but when CCNet uses MSBuild to compile it it fails with following error: errorCS0103: The name 'UrlParameter' does not exist in the current context pointing to the line inside my view where this parameter is set on: Html.RenderAction(...) that sets certain route parameter(s) to optional. I tried adding <%@ Assembly name="System.Web.Mvc" %> at the top of my view, but it didn't work either. It works of course when I disable view compilation, but that's not really an option. And I also don't want to set my optional parameters to string.Empty. Anyone has any hint on this?

Whats the solution for this?
