• Binding to an XElement

  I need help binding to an XElement. Basically I am making a editor for certain elements in a web.config and I extract them as XElements and my View binds to a Collection of DataItems which has a property that contains my XElement. When I do Text="{Binding Path=Data, Mode=OneWay, NotifyOnSourceUpdated=True}"/> I get all the text of the Element, but If I try Text="{Binding Path=Data.Elements[], Mode=OneWay, NotifyOnSourceUpdated=True}"/> It doesn't work the TextBox is empty. I am trying to find a way to Template different sections dynamically to make them easier to edit instead of editing raw XMl.

• Firefox DOMParser problem

  For some reason DOMParser is adding some additional #text elements for each newline \n for this url http://rt.com/Root.rss ...as well as many other RSS I've tried. I checked cnn/bbc feeds, they don't have newlines and dom parser handling them nicely. So I have to add the following before parsing it var xmlText = htmlText.replace(/\n[ ]*/g, ""); var xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString(xmlText, "text/xml"); Server is returning text/xml. var channel = xmlDoc.documentElement.childNodes[0]; this returning \n without my code above and channel with correction.

• Regex: How to leave out webding font characters?

  Hi, I've a free text field on my form where the users can type in anything. Some users are pasting text into this field from Word documents with some weird characters that I don't want to go in my DB. (e.g. webding font characters) I'm trying to get a regular expression that would give me only the alphanum and the punctuation characters. But when I try the following, the output is still all the characters.   OK, I am still getting the hang of MATLAB. I have two files in different format. One Excel file. data1.xls, size= 86400 X 62. It looks like: Date/Time par1 par2 par3 par4 par5 par6 par6 par7 par8 par9 08/02/09 00:06:45 0 3 27 9.9 -133.2 0 0 0 1 0 Another file, data2.csv, size = 144 X 27. (If nothing is missing.) It looks like: date time P01 P02 P03 P04 P05 P06 P07 P08 P09 P10 P11 8/16/2009 0:00 51 45 46 54 53 52 524 5 399 89 78 Now I am using Data10minAvg = mean(reshape(Data,300,144,62)); to get the 10 min average of the first Excel file. Now I need to match up that file I am making above with the .csv file. The problem is many timestamps are missing in the .csv file. How do I make data2.csv into a file of size 144 X 27, replacing the missing datestamps by rows of zero? It will really help me than compare data1.xls file with newdata2.csv.

• jQuery Mobile tap bug : same target twice

  I'm working on displaying some text in an UIWebView on iOS. I'd like to get the content of the HTML element tapped by the user. If he taps on a paragraph for example, a popup shows the paragraph content. I'm using jQuery Mobile to achieve this. Here's what I'm doing : $('body').tap(function(e) { var tappedElement = $(e.target); alert(tappedElement.text()); }); It works for the first tap. The second tap no matter where it is, returns the same text. The event seems to be ok but the target property of the second tap is wrong. On the third tap all comes back to normal and so on ... What am I missing here ? thx

• Problem with jQuery animation

  I have a problem with an animation in jQuery using ajax. On the click of an button (actually an tag), I call a ajax method, and have the following written inside the success parameter: success: function(msg) { $('.ContentsMainRight').children().fadeOut(500, function() { $('.ContentsMainRight').html(msg.d); $('.ContentsMainRight').children().fadeIn(1000); }); }, This have the following result. The contents of a div fade out over 500ms as it's supposed to. Then the html contents of the div are swapped, but then the last part did not work as I hoped. The html returned by the ajax method include some text inside a tag, and a image inside a tag. The result is that the text is automatically displayed instantly with no fadein, but the img that is put fades in over 1 second. Why is the text and image treated differently? -Daemon

• Does IE6 Really not Allow Me to set width/height from left/right/top/bottom???

  Building a site super quick and having it work on all my Mac browsers, I thought I'd take a gander on a friends old dell laptop with Windows XP and IE6. Nothing looks remotely correct. It's because I used lots of left/right/top/bottom (constraint) declarations to size elements proportionally to their parent's size (I didn't use percent sizes because the percents refer to the parent's size before margins and padding are applied, left/right/top/bottom refer to them after with position:absolute. I'm asking about that here :)). I've read lots these past few weeks on how horrible IE6 (and IE) is in general, but because of all the reasons people say to support it (large market share and the fear of installing better software), and because half the people in the company we're building a site for use IE6 (getting them to upgrade to Chrome slowly but surely), I thought if I could just get IE6 to render my constraints, that might help. So I am messing around with simple layouts here, and they work fine in my latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera, but IE6 is basically saying: If you haven't set a width or height on me, I'm assuming it's zero. But position:absolute; left:0px; right:0px; top:0px; bottom:0px; on a container that's width:1000px; height:1000px; should be the same as setting width:1000px; height:1000px on the child, no? Taking a quick look at the source for this, why won't IE6 render the constraint based absolutely positioned AND SIZED elements? (note: I will be messing around with that file for a while) Thanks

• Strange compilation error on reference passing argument to function

What does that imply? I do not understand the error message ... invalid initialization of a non-constant? I declared the prototype function above with two parameters to take, one a reference of an integer and one just an integer value itself. I passed the reference of the int (see line 10), yet this error keeps being thrown at me. What is the issue?

The dbconnect class isn't at fault as it's untampered and has been used in past projects. The error logs don't give any output and no MySQL errors show. Any ideas?

• Apache RewriteRule not rewriting as expected

  Can you any one see anything wrong with the following apache rewrite rule: This is in my .htaccess file inside a folder called "text" a subdirectory of localhost/lombardpress I have the following rule Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ([^/]+) /textdisplay.php?fs=$1 [NC] I was expecting this input: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/lectio1 to rewrite to this: http://localhost/lombardpress-dev/text/textdisplay?fs=lectio1 But instead I get a 404 error. The requested URL /textdisplay.php was not found on this server. It looks to me like the RewriteRule has re-written the address but not as I intended - so there must be something wrong with my regular expression. Let me know if I can provide further information.

  I am trying to get the value of base_path variable in PHP (on lamp server) . I have kept the code insider beta_test directory inside www directly. i.e, base path function should return " /beta_test/ " . But it is returning just single slash ( "/" ) . • Bash script to find a directory, list it's contents and sub-folders info

  Hi I want to write a script that will: 1- locate folder "store" on a *nix filesystem 2- move into that folder 3- print list of contents with last modification date 4- calculate sub-folders size This folder's absolute path changes from server to server, but the folder name remains the same always. There is a config file that contains the correct path to that folder though, but it doesn't give absolute bath to it. Sample Config: Account ON DIR-Store /hdd1 Scheduled YES ?According to the config file the absolute path would be "/hdd1/backup/store/" I need the script to grep the "/hdd1" or anything beyond the word "Config-Store", add "/backup/store/" to it, move into folder "store", print list of it's contents, and calculate sub-folders size. Until now I manually edit the script on each server to reflect the path to the "store" folder. But when I use syswrite and sysread i.e. non-buffered I/O, as a result I get good text files, but binary files are corrupted anyway.

  Having a really frustrating time with Firefox and the back button...given this simple ASP form: <head> <title>Form 1</title> </head> <body> <form action="form2.asp" method="post"> Enter some text:<input type="text" name="thetext" id="thetext"> <input type="submit" id="submit" name="submit"> </form> </body> </html> Firefox (3.6.3) will occasionally clear the value of the text box after hitting submit and then the back button. It's unpredictable when it will strike. And it will work for dozens to hundreds of times, and then all of a sudden it stops working. Any ideas where I should start?

How can this be done in jQuery?

  function addOption(selectbox, val, txt){ ...... } addOption(list, "Cars", "Cars"); I need to add this in front of the text of the function: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; So that there is space coming in before the option text...Never mind what it is for, it is just confusing... I just don't know how to insert it into the js code. If I do it like this: addOption(list, "Cars", "&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cars"); Then the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; comes into the text, so it gets displayed for the users. However I need it to be interpreted as "space"... If you don't understand let me know... How can I do this? Quotes, double quotes etc? Thanks
