    Wondering why a particular binary write operation in VB is so slow. The function reads a Byte array from memory and dumps it into a file like this: Open Destination For Binary Access Write As #1 Dim startP, endP As Long startP = BinaryStart endP = UBound(ReadBuf) - 1 Dim i as Integer For i = startP To endP DoEvents Put #1, (i - BinaryStart) + 1, ReadBuf(i) Next Close #1 For two megabytes on a slower system, this can take up to a minute. Can anyone tell me why this is so slow?

I know the synatax and understand the idea behind traits, like horizontal code re-usage for common stuff like logging, security, caching etc. However, I still dont know yet how I would make use of traits in my projects.     Hi, is there a way to pass commands (from a shell) to an all ready running R-runtime/R-Gui, without copy&past. So far I only know how to call R via shell with the -f or -e option, but in both cases a new R-Runtime will process the R-Script or R-Command I passed to it. I rather would like to have an open R-Runtime waiting for commands passed to it (via what ever connection is possible). regrads, Tiny

  • Is this correct about ajax POST?

    Could you confirm I understand this correctly. Using POST, the file specified in xmlhttp.open("GET","ajax_test.asp",true); will not be cached (sent to \Temporary Internet Files) ? It will stay on the server only? If this is true, is the updated html file after calling ajax POST, being updated in the \Temporary Internet Files ? Am I missing any other important information of this mechanism? Thank You.

  • disable Opera function key in javascript

    I'm writing javascript code for a web emulator containing function keys. The user is able to press keyboard function keys to process something in the emulator, I used stopPropagation and preventDefault javascript function to stop/cancel browsers invoking their function key shortcut (e.g. F1 will invoke Firefox to open its help page) and the code works fine under Firefox and Chrome. But Opera didn't work. I'm using latest Opera 10.5 here. Can anyone help ?

    If I open two Java projects in Eclipse which depend on each other, I have to add dependencies between these two projects in the Build Path (Properties - Java build path). This works fine for one way, but why doesn't allow Eclipse to set the dependencies vice versa? The following error message occurs: A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'A' and A cycle was detected in the build path of project 'B' I know what's causing this error but i wonder why exactly this isn't allowed.     In VB.net the ANDALSO and ORELSE keywords should basically always be prefered over the AND and OR keywords. What is the easiest way to disable the AND and OR keywords?   • Prevent IntelliJ from adding iml files

    I'm working with Maven pom files, and I don't wish to source control iml files. When I open a project, IntelliJ seems to add some of the iml files it creates to the SVN source control. How can I prevent this? I have "*.iml" in an "svn:ignore" property on the repository root, but it doesn't seem to prevent IntelliJ from adding the imls.
