  • Templates - Exercises

    Hi, As I mentioned in my yesterday's post, I'm trying to teach myself templates from the book: Templates: The Complete Guide. And although I'm finding this book very nicely presented and material there is explained really well there are no exercises attached after each chapter to test your knowlege, like it is in The C++ Language by B.S for example and had done all exercises from "The C++" I really feel benefit from doing them. So what I'm asking today is: Does anyone know where can I get excersises with templates. Thank you.

  • Do I need to use http redirect code 302 or 307?

    I am working on a CMS that uses a search facility to output a list of content items. You can use this facility as a search engine, but in this instance I am using it to output the current month's Media Releases from an archive of all Media Releases. The default parameters for these "Data Lists" as they are called, don't allow you to specify "current month" or "current year" for publication date - only "last x days" or "from dateA to dateB". The search facility will accept querystring parameters though, so I intend to code around it like this: Page loads How many days into the current month are we? Do we have a query string that asks for a list including this many days? If no, redirect the client back to this page with the appropriate query-string included. If yes, allow the CMS to process the query Now here's the rub. Suppose the spider from your favourite search engine comes along and tries to index your main Media Releases page. If you were to use a 301 redirect to the default query page, the spider would assume the main page was defunct and choose to add the query page to its index instead of the main page. Now I see that 302 and 307 indicate that a page has been moved temporarily; if I do this, are spiders likely to pop the main page into their index like I want them to?     I'm working on building an iPhone app with Titanium Mobile 1.0 and I see that it compiles down to a native iPhone binary. How does this work? Seems like it would take a lot of heavy lifting to analyze the JavaScript code and do a direct translation into Objective-C without having a subset language like 280 North's Objective-J and Cappuccino.

    I am new to XML and I have a couple of questions about prefix. I need to "add the root schema element and insert the declaration for the XML schema namespace using the xc prefix. Set the default namespace and target of the schema to the URI test.com/test1" I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://test.com/test1" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test1"> </xc:schema> Is this correct? The next one is: "insert the root schema element, declaring the XML schema namespace with the xc prefix. Declare the library namespace using the lib prefix and the contributors namespace using the cont prefix. Set the default namespace and the schema target to URI test.com/test2" The library URI is http://test.com/library and contributor URI is test.com/contributor I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:lib="http://test.com/library" xmlns:clist="http://test.com/contributor" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test2"> </xc:schema> Does this look right?   • OpenSSL not listed under PHP modules but shows up in the configure command

    PHP 5.2.12 OS X 10.5.8 If I compile PHP from source with the following configure command ./configure --disable-all --with-openssl=shared,/opt/local it succeeds. However, after a make and make install, php -m does not list the openssl module. Based on what I've read, I think it may be due to multiple installs of the openssl library. Installing the latest version of openssl from source and trying to specify the path in the configure command, --with-openssl=/usr/local, always results in the following error: Undefined symbols: "_EVP_CIPHER_CTX_block_size", referenced from: _zif_openssl_seal in openssl.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [sapi/cgi/php-cgi] Error 1 I've tried a few different variations on the path with no luck. Based on http://blog.yimingliu.com/2009/02/24/missing-library-symbols-while-compiling-php-528/, I've also tried editing the Makefile so that MH_BUNDLE_FLAGS comes later in the compilation line. After spending a good portion of the day on this issue, I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

  • Can WPF based ActiveX control use Reg-Free-COM

    I have a WPF based ActiveX control (COM interop). I am able to use it correctly by registering the control. When I tried to Reg-Free-COM (using manifest files) the control seems to be activated, but the events (such as mouse click, RequestBringIntoView etc) dont respond. Interestingly, Double click and tab key works. I read in the this article http://blogs.msdn.com/karstenj/archive/2006/10/09/activex-wpf-gadget.aspx that " ... These upsides come with a price: the ActiveX control must be registered in the registry, which requires some kind of installation such as an .msi. The default gadget installation process cannot install ActiveX. The ActiveX control can't be access via reg-free COM. ..." Has anybody had a similar experience? Can anyone explain what is going on? Additional details: When the control is activated after it has been registered it appears as part of the COM client's UI. The control does not receive focus, its elements receive it. When using reg-free-com the control does not load correctly. 1) The control receives focus instead of its sub elements 2) The control has areas that are black instead of the windows default color 3) when I tab in and out of the control or double click it, it's subelements receive focus, the control starts receiving events and the black areas are replaced by the correct color

My model structure is something like this: title #default (englisch) title_de #(german) title_it #(italian) In my template I want to be able to write only <%= @model.title %> and should get the value in the right language. Is there a plugin or a solution to use different fields per different locale settings with a structure like mine?

  • Why doesn't my cursor change to an Hourglass in my FindDialog in Delphi?

    I am simply opening my FindDialog with: FindDialog.Execute; In my FindDialog.OnFind event, I want to change the cursor to an hourglass for searches through large files, which may take a few seconds. So in the OnFind event I do this: Screen.Cursor := crHourglass; (code that searches for the text and displays it) ... Screen.Cursor := crDefault; What happens is while searching for the text, the cursor properly changes to the hourglass (or rotating circle in Vista) and then back to the pointer when the search is completed. However, this only happens on the main form. It does not happen on the FindDialog itself. The default cursor remains on the FindDialog during the search. While the search is happening if I move the cursor over the FindDialog it changes to the default, and if I move it off and over the main form it becomes the hourglass. This does not seem like what is supposed to happen. Am I doing something wrong or does something special need to be done to get the cursor to be the hourglass on all forms? For reference, I'm using Delphi 2009.

Also it is possible to make to convert C# app in native code, Xenocode is too costly. C# provides lot of features, and is the ideal language for my code, so writing in C++ again the whole codebase is out of question. Secure certificates can be easily removed from the signed assemblies in .NET

    Hello, I need to track changes in my UITextView method (actianly for limiting number of lines), but none of UITextViewDelegate methods are being called when editing in UITextView begins.   • Adding title in contentplaceholder adds second empty title tag

    My master page has a contentplaceholder in the head tag. Because I want my page's title to represent the function of the current page and because I want the title to be translated in the user's language I have added a title tag in the page's head's contentplaceholder. All jolly and good except that now there appears a second, empty title tag that off course isn't valid. Any ideas how to solve this?

  • How do I use a different image for each JQuery UI Slider handle

    I'm using a JQuery UI slider which has two handles (a.k.a range slider). I know how to style the first handle: .ui-slider-horizontal .ui-slider-handle {background: white url(http://stackoverflow.com/content/img/so/vote-arrow-down.png) no-repeat scroll 50% 50%;} But how do I style the second handle differently? Using Firebug I can see Jquery does not uniquely identify each handle: <div id="hourlyRateSlider" class="ui-slider ui-slider-horizontal ui-widget ui-widget-content ui-corner-all"> <div class="ui-slider-range ui-widget-header" style="left: 26%; width: 46%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 26%;"/> <a class="ui-slider-handle ui-state-default ui-corner-all" href="#" style="left: 72%;"/> </div> So I imagine I have to use either a CSS child selector which could be cross-browser problematic. Or I could use some JQuery trickery to add a CSS class to the second handle? Anyone done this in a neat way before?

  • M2Eclipse and EAR projects on Weblogic

    How can I import a maven EAR project into Eclipse 3.4, and be able to use the IDE (WTP) to deploy the ear successfully to Weblogic (9.2)? The main issue is that the dependent jars are not being included in the ear (under APP-INF/lib) when it gets deployed through the IDE. When I build from command line, the ear is exactly how I want it. I am using the APP-INF/lib configuration for the ear plugin, and have included the jarModule sections for all the required jars. When editing the eclipse EAR project's Java EE components, all the jars are listed, but not in the APP-INF/lib. Only when I open a dependent jar project do those specific jars get set under that subfolder. All the 3rd party jars are showing they will end up in the wrong place. But with the upcoming version of Windows and Microsoft's flagship language, I am having a hard time understanding why Microsoft isn't pushing C# to its fullest potential to give it more exposure via their market share? In addition can be interpreted as "Is C# and the .Net framework suitable to run a modern OS like Windows 7" Btw this is not a flaming question, but curiosity. I use C# daily and really love it.
