• mysql phpmyadmin, how to save date of birth that was attained through a form with the input type "se

  Hello, I have a form which asks the user his or her date of birth. Its a drop down box since I use the select input type. The first drop down has Months, second has Days, the third has the Years. So the format should be Month(October), Day(25), Year(1990). In other words the months spell out the actual month and not simply the number representation of the month. However, I would like to save the Day and Year in their respective formats. How can I do this in phpMyAdmin? Should I use the DATE type? what should the value be? I just need to know how to correlate all of this in phpmyadmin, so I can save it properly. Thank you.

• Steps to take for figuring out the delay when calling service and loading data with the result?

  Hello, In a client server app, where client front end is done in silverlight using C# and the services are the WCF services. If I am to hit the service and do a query and bring back a result and I notice that it is taking a relatively long time to load my page which is just loading the grid with the data, what things should I look at fix this issue or how would I fix this issue? What steps could I take to determine the problem? where is the bottle-neck, can anyone know from the little information provided here? Does this have anything to do with serialization? Any insight on what could be causing this delay? My service calls are made async. I hope this question makes sense :) Thanks

  Hello. I'm having a little problem with configuring the firewall on my server. I only want a specific range of IPs to be able to access specific ports. For example, I'm having alot of password attempts to some of my servers, so I want to make it more safe by only allowing incoming connections from a specific range of domain. Example: My IP is usually adsl-324-4.somecompany.com so I want to allow *.somecpompany.com to connect, as my IP is dynamic. That would get rid of alot of attempts to hack into my servers. But I have no idea how to mask a domain like that for the firewall. How could I for example allow all incoming connections from *.is? Thanks.

I need to get the list of the changes on "status" column: the status, the date and the previous status on a specified item (It would be good as well getting the status and date when status was changed).   Hello. I am new to Android and mobile phones development. I want to develop an application that needs to have a total control over the "phone" of the smartphone, i.e. controlling all the communication of the GSM chip with the cellular system, accessing the SIM card identity that it sends (encrypted) to the cellular system, disabling the cellular antenna and resuming it back, and more of that kind... Can it be done with Android? Does the software (OS) have control over all of the phone components in a smartphone, or there are some parts that are done in the hardware level only? (I guess that the Android API won't enable me to do everything i want, but even theoretically is it possible if I recompile the OS after making the changes there?) Thanks!

Where should i store the avatar file? first of all i was saving all the files in src\main\webapp\resources , but each time i redeploy that folder empties. so i dedide to place in an other location : c:\wwwdir\resources, but i can't link local resources from remote pages, so i was not able to display any avatar . any idea? advise? link?

  Hello. My problem is, I need to cURL-load a page that uses Ajax-based search, to get results of that search. And I need to organize a delay between curl_exec() and value returning. In other words, I need to execute curl_exec() for no less than 5 seconds. sleep() seems to stop curl execution and does not work. Will greatly appreciate any hint or clue UPD I don't know how, but on this page http://vkontakte.ru/gsearch.php?section=video&q=sample&name=1, but it requires an account to access curl DOES capture the search made by ajax. But if page tooks too long to load, Ajax returns "action was too fast" error. So I just need to prolong curl execution. Sorry if being unclear.

  Hello i have a question. in short: i need a function which receives [NSDate date] and string @"2010-11-12" and returns the amount of days between those two dates. more explanation: I need to store a date from a server in the format @"2010-11-12" in my NSUserdefaults. The meaning of this date is the expireDate of a feature in an iPhone App. Everytime i press on a button for this feature i need to check if the difference in days between the current time-[NSDate date] and @"2010-11-12" is greater than 0. That means tahat the feature is disabled. its making me crazy mabey its to dead simple.

  Hello, Let's imagine really simple game... We have a labirinth and two players trying to find out exit in real time through internet. On every move game client should send player's coordinates to server and accept current coordinates of another client. How is it possible to make this exchange so fast (as all modern games do). Ok, we can use memcache or similar technology to reduce data mining operations on server side. We can also use fastest webserver etc., but we still will have problems with timings.   Hello, I have a problem: I've add a Jquery UI drag-n-drop widget to my page, but after that I can't type anything into inputs or textareas. I use jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8rc3, and tiny_mce for convert textareas into WYSIWUG editor (I've tried to disable tiny_mce). When I put $("input").click( function(){ alert('clicked!'); }); - it's working(I have an alert). When I get focused to any input I even can't refresh page by F5 and go to the next element by Tab key. • NetBeans/C++ - how to choose the "main file" other than when creating a project?

  Hello, when I am creating a C++ project in NetBeans, there is a toggle button "Create main file" - I just enter a name for it and that's all. The problem is that I cannot put that file in a "different" folder than right in the main project folder. And I am "used" to put all the source files in a "src" folder (and its subfolders), but at the "project creation time" I "cannot" put the main file there. So I tried "not" to create the main file at project creation, but after that create manually the "src" file and then create a "cpp" file in that folder (this is "allowed" in NetBeans). But NetBeans could not find "which" is the main file. So how can I choose the main file other than when creating a project (if it is possible)?

  hello, i need your help with div positioning into a page. i have the below divs: - the header with z-index 10, position absolute, top 0, height 250px, width 100% - wrapper with margin 0 auto, width 990 and inside - the menu with z-index 8 - content to the right of the menu with z-index 9 so that i could scroll it below the header. the problem is that i want the menu to have fixed position and this is not possible cause it is not working for the x-axis as it gets outside wrapper.
