  • Use of bit-torrent for large file download

    The company I work for procures large volumes of data and does this by subscribing to FTP. I was wondering if it is possible to download the same using a tracker, the major challenge is authentication of the users IMO. Most ftp servers we subscribe to have a restriction of the number of ftp connection attempts. Does any one here have any experience with this? Any advice is welcome

    Hi, I just wanted to know how to use C to automatically assign a free port (and see what was used) if a specific port number is not provided. For example, i'm using this: struct sockaddr_in address; address->sin_family = AF_INET; address->sin_addr.s_addr = INADDR_ANY; address->sin_port = htons( port ); But how can I replace the sin_port assignment and let C automatically assign for me?   • Is there a problem when I call SqlAdapter.Update and at the same time call SqlDataReader.Read

    I have two applications, one updates a single table which has constant number of rows (128 rows) using SqlDataAdapter.Update method , and another application that select from this table periodically using SqlDataReader. sometimes the DataReader returns only 127 rows not 128, and the update application does not remove or even insert any new rows, it just update. I am asking what is the cause of this behaviour?

  • Appdomain recycle settings on mod_mono & Apache

    How does one control the application recycle settings for an ASP.NET application runnin on mod_mono & Apache ? On IIS6 & 7 there was an option to specify either a time period, a number of requests, etc. when the AppDomain would be recycled and the application would basically do an Application_End() / Application_Start(). I am seeing the same behaviour on mod_mono & Apache ,but I can't find where to change the settings.

    I have a requirement that regardless of the start and dates that I need to loop through that timespan and calculate figures at the month level. I cannot seem to figure it out, and maybe it is not possible, but I would like to do something like: FOREACH Month As TimeSpan in ContractRange.Months Do Calculations (Month.Start, Month.End) NEXT Is this possible or do I need to calculate the number of months, and just iterate through the amount of months and calculate the start/end of that month based on my index?
