• openvpn: after changing to server mode, client does not create TUN device

  i had a previously working configuration with the config files used in a previous question However, i've changed this now to the following configuration using server mode, everything on the logs seem fine, however the client doesn't create any tun interface, so i don't have anything to connect to, presumably, i need to add or push some route commands, but i don't have any idea at this point what i need to do.   Microsoft Silverlight 4 is in beta. It supports PCM audio output. It would be madness to stream PCM over internet (for ex in P2P chart webApp) so we need Pure C# open source PCM to Ogg convertor. No unmanaged code, nothing going out of .net sandbox. So does any one know such Pure C# open source PCM to Ogg convertor? What do I need: Open Source Libs for encoding. Tutorials and blog articles on How to do it, about etc. BTW: why Pure C#? - because Silverlight 4 does not support unmanaged or just not C# DLL's. BTW2: this question is similar to this one but it is different because Ogg is Open Source, free while mp3 will not be free until 2010

  I should say that I’m fan of regular expressions. Whenever I see the problem, which I can solve with Regex, I felt a burning desire to do it and going to write new test for new regex. Previously I had installed SharpDevelop Studio just for good regular expression tool in it (Why VS doesn’t have one?). But now I’m a little wiser, and for each Regex I write a separate test. I find it difficult to remember the syntax of regular expressions (I don’t write them very often); I always forget which character is responsible for the beginning of the line, etc. So I use external small and easy articles like this “Regular expressions - An introduction”. • Can I use a MIME type declaration to get an HTML file to open in MS Word?

  Is it possible to achieve something similar to nVidia's rain demo using only shader model 3.0 capabilities? If yes, could you point out a few documents/web resources that are suitable candidates and do not require a heavy programming load (e.g. not more than two hard weeks of programming for one single person)? It would be nice if the answer could also contain a pro/con phrase for the proposed idea (e.g. postprocessing rain shader vs. a particle based effect).

  While I was writing my earlier post SQL SERVER – 2011 – Multi-Monitor SSMS Windows, I found out that there is one more similar feature which existed in Visual Studio is also now part of SQL Server 2011 (Denali). The feature is called clipboard ring feature. This is how it works. Select Multiple object one by one using regular CTRL + X. Now instead of pasting using CTRL+V use CTRL+SHIFT+V. Well, you will see that that pasted value is rotating based on what you have earlier selected in CTRL+V. I was really happy as I think this is one of the feature of VS, I really wanted SSMS to have. • Do Precompiled headers help with rebuilds?

  I read some of the questions about precompiled headers but couldn't find a direct answer to that. I usually rebuild my entire Visual Studio 2010 solution. One of the projects in my solution is a C++/CLI project. I thought that using precompiled headers in that project will increase the speed of the compilation. After some experiments, it seems that using precompiled headers only slows the rebuild process. Do precompiled headers only help with builds that didn't completely clean the old files?

  I am try to set a cell formulat that references cells from other workbooks. However, when I open the programmatically generated workbook, the formula cells show up as #REF!. I print out the formulas that were generated in a log. If I cut and paste those into the cells, the numbers from the external workbooks is pulled in. • A better way of converting Codepage-1251 in RTF to Unicode

  I am trying to parse RTF (via MSEDIT) in various languages, all in Delphi 2010, in order to produce HTML in unicode. Taking Russian/Cyrillic as my starting point I find that the overall document codepage is 1252 (Western) but the Russian parts of the text are identified by the charset of the font (RUSSIAN_CHARSET 204). So far I am: 1) Use AnsiString (or RawByteString) when parsing the RTF 2) Determine the CodePage by a lookup from the font charset (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc194829.aspx) 3) Translating using a lookup table in my code: (This table generated from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/goglobal/cc305144.aspx) - I'm going to need one table per supported codepage! There MUST be a better way than this? Preferably something supplied by the OS and so less brittle than tables of constants.

• LINQPad - Dump extension method - I want one!

  Hi, LINQPad is amazing, particularly useful is the Dump() extension methods which renders objects and structs of almost any type, anonymous or not, to the console. Initially, when I moved to Visual Studio 2010, I tried to make my own Dump method using a delegate to get the values to render for anonymous types etc. It's getting pretty complicated though and whilst it was fun and educational at first what I need is a solid implementation. Having checked out the LinqPad code in reflector I am even more assured that I'm not going to get the implementation right. Is there a free library I can include to provide the Dump functionality?   If I have the following master-detail relationship: owner_tbl auto_tbl --------- -------- owner --- owner auto year And I have the following table data: owner_tbl auto_tbl --------- -------- john john, corvette, 1968 john, prius, 2008 james james, f-150, 2004 james, cadillac, 2002 james, accord, 2009 jeff jeff, tesla, 2010 jeff, hyundai, 1996 Now, I want to perform a query that returns the following result: john, corvette, 1968 jeff, hyundai, 1996 james, cadillac, 2002 The query should join the two tables, and sort all the records on the "year" field, but only return the first detail record for each master record. I know how to join the tables and sort on the "year" field, but it's not clear how (or if) I might be able to only retrieve the first joined record for each owner. Three related questions: Can I perform this kind of query using LINQ-to-SQL? Can I perform the query using T-SQL? Would it be best to just create a stored procedure for the query given its likely complexity?

  Use VS2010 silverlight business application template to createa defaut solution. Change authentication to Windows in Web.config and the code in app.xaml.cs to use windows authentication. Nothing else changed. Then run this app from vs2010 built-in web server, it is fine, I can see the login user info from windws(from a AD domain account) display on the top-right of the screen, like DomainName\userName. Then deploy this web app to IIS on windows 7(same computer) and access this app again, I got following error: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. • Custom Glassfish Security Realm does not work (unable to find LoginModule)

  I'm trying to get a Custom Security Realm in Glassfish working (i tried 3.0.1 final and 3.1 B33). I read nearly all tutorials about this, but it doesn not work on my System. I'm getting the error Login failed: javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: unable to find LoginModule class: de.company.security.utility.CustomLoginModule when trying to login. Here is what i did: I created a little Maven project, which contains the needed Realm class, CustomRealm, and the corresponding LoginModule, CustomLoginModule. • Convert Microsoft Visio Drawing (vsd) to PDF automatically

  An open-source project I am working on uses Visio drawings for documentation, which are checked into source control. For those working on the project who don't own Visio, we have been converting the vsd files to PDFs so that they can still view them. It's not too difficult to save a copy as a PDF when making changes to the documentation, but we would like an automated way to do this conversion, so that we can set it up as a pre-checkin script in the SVN client. If anybody knows of a way to do this, either using something built-in to Visio, or with an outside script or command line tool, we would appreciate it. Edit: Thanks to the suggestion below, I have found the Visio Viewer 2010. This will be helpful for our contributors using Windows. We would still like to have the ability to create PDFs though, as there are readers available on every major operating system, and our contributors will not be using only Windows.

• What is the simplest way to implement multithredding in c# to existing code

  I have already implemented a functionnal application that parses 26 pages of html all at once to produce an xml file with data contained on the web pages. I would need to implement a thread so that this method can work in the background without causing my app to seems unresponsive. Secondly, I have another function that is decoupled from the first one which compares two xml files to produce a third one and then transform this third xml file to produce an html page using XSLT. This would have to be on a thread, where I can click Cancel to stop the thread whithout crashing the app. What is the easiest best way to do this using WPF forms in VS 2010 ? Note: I cannot use the BackgroundWorker component as it is grayed out in the toolbox.

  I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong? The error message doesn't help much either: "fatal: bad config file line 13 in c:/Users/Tanner/.gitconfig" [gui] recentrepo = C:/Users/Tanner/Desktop/FIRST 2010 Beta/Java/LoganRover [user] name = Tanner Smith email = [email protected] [merge "labview"] name = LabView 3-Way Merge driver = “C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Merge\LVMerge.exe” “C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\LabVIEW.exe” %O %B %A %A recursive = binary And I'm not seeing a line 13, but usually that would mean something is wrong at the end? I don't know, Git is new to me.
