    I have just started using Knockout and I want to filter my data that I am displaying in my UI by selecting an item from a dropdown. I have got so far, but I cannot get the selected value from my dropdown yet, and then after that I need to actually filter the data displayed based upon that value.   • Prevent form to repost on refresh

    Given is a form that is followed by a confirmation page where you have to confirm you entered data of previous form. Now if the user refreshes this recapitulation page, the data form the previous form reposts. Is there a way to prevent that in JavaScript? I know its not a ideal solution, it should happen on the server side. But i have no choice in this case.

  • Hide Hashtags from the user's address bar

    Does anyone know an easy way to hide hashtags in the user's address bar? I am using a image gallery plugin and the only way to control the start position is to use a hash tag. The problem is the hash tag gives away the relative path of the images folder and it looks bad. Without the hash tag it only loads thumbs and not start image so really it's unavoidable. Thanks!

    I am making a simple online application. I have a navigation bar with a few buttons and one "div" into which all the new contents will be loaded dynamically i.e. when I click "About", it will load the page parts into the "div" without reloading the whole page with .load() function. The problem is: what if I need to give a link to the Documents section of my web site, or the user wants to store this kind of link, the url is not rewritten when browsing my site. when the user stores the default link it will always link him to the default "Home" part. How can I rewrite the URL and what is the most correct way to do this?

    Hello SO. My websystem im coding with now is integrated from the originally phpBB system. With this i mean when you log on my websystem, you have actually logged into the forum from the login page. Now i came to the "log out" part, and i want to make it smart. Right now its a simply link with logout: <a href="<?php echo BASEDIR; ?>../../ucp.php?mode=logout&sid=<? echo $user->data['session_id']; ?>" style="margin-left: 14px; font-size: 10px;">- Log Out</a> As you see in the link it refers to the forum´s ucp.php?mode=logout, and you need to have the SID variable in it in order to log out right.. anyway.. I want to do this log out part in a smart way, i mean, not so you land on the forum´s "you have now been logged out", i want something maybe like run this page in background when you click, and then it refreshes the current page your on. Or should it be smarter just try to modify the phpbb file ucp.php? I think its hard coded, and not the way I am coding, so thats why i find it abit tricky. Thank you for your answers and examples on how this could be done, in a smart way..

It works great but the problem is, it seems to put a lot of white space after each checkbox ID.     Here is the the function and the globals: $note_instance = Array(); $note_count = 0; function create(text){ count = $note_count++; time = 5000; $note_instance[count] = $notifications.notify("create", text); setTimeout(function(){ $note_instance[count].close() }, time); } The function simply opens a notification, a sets a timeout to close it in 5 seconds. so if i call this create("Good Note 1"); create("Good Note 2"); create("Good Note 3"); Ecah note should close 5 seconds from their creation, however always and only the last note closes, in this case "Good Note 3". Each note object has its own entry in the the $note_instance global array so the timeouts should no be overwriting themselves. What am i missing here folks? Thanks in advance

This code below works fine but it seems a little inefficient as if a user is typing really fast, i am potentially doing many more searches than necessary.     I'm having trouble with special characters that exist in an xml node attribute. To combat this, I'm trying to render the attributes as child nodes and, where necessary, using cdata sections to get around the special characters. The problem is, I can't seem to get the cdata section appended to the node correctly. I'm iterating over the source xml node's attributes and creating new nodes. If the attribute.name = "description" I want to put the attribute.text() in a cdata section and append the new node.   • Been asked a dozen times, but no luck from what I've read. Prevent Anchor Jumping on page load

    I'm currently working with WP theme that can be found here: sanjay.dmediastudios.com I'm currently using 'smooth scroll' on my page, I'm attempting to have the page smoothly scroll to the requested section when coming from an external link (for instance coming from the blog page takes you to sanjay.dmediastudios.com/#portfolio) from there I want the page to start at the top and THEN scroll to the portfolio section. What's happening is it briefly displays the 'portfolio section' (anchor jump) and THEN resets to the top and scrolls down. It's driving me nuts :(.
