  Hi, I am using a asp.net login control with one of my asp.net application to authenticate users. I also have roles defined as well. Some of the directories are setup so only users with ROLE "MANAGER" are able to access pages under those directories. If the user does not have "MANAGER" role, he will simply be redirect back to the login page. so my question is that for the out of box login control, is there a way to show the proper login fail error message? for user trying to login but does not have a proper ROLE assigned to them, instead of a generic error message saying "login failed" thanks.

  Suppose there is an element in XML data: <abc:xyz:name attr="value"/> I'm trying to read it with XmlReader. The problem is that I get XmlException that says The ‘:’ character, hexadecimal value 0x3A, cannot be included in a name I have already declared "abc" namespace. I have also tried adding "abc:xyz" and "xyz" namespaces. But this doesn't help at all. I could replace some text before parsing but there may be some more elegant solution. So what should I do?   im all new to framework. so the structure of code igniter looks like: system system/application the system folder is code igniter's base folder right? so if they in the future releases a new version i just put application in the new system folder and its upgraded right? does this mean that i shouldn't put new files and so on in the system folder? cause some code could be used for other applications and i want to put them under the current application im developing, not inside the application folder. i want my application's classes to extend my base system's classes which in turn extend code igniter's base system class. so there are 3 levels. so how could i accomplish this? where to put the system level between CI and my application?

• Trying to filter a ListView with runQueryOnBackgroundThread but nothing happens - what am I missing?

  I have a list of countries in a database. I have created a select country activity that consists of a edit box for filtering and a list which displays the flag and country name. When the activity starts the list shows the entire list of countries sorted alphabetically - works fine. When the customer starts typing into the search box I want the list to be filtered based on their typing. My database query was previously working in an AutoCompleteView (I just want to switch to a separate text box and list) so I know my full query and my constraint query are working. What I did was add a TextWatcher to the EditText view and every time the text is changed I invoke the list's SimpleCursorAdapter runQueryOnBackgroundThread with the edit boxes text as the constraint. The trouble is the list is never updated. I have set breakpoints in the debugger and the TextWatcher does make the call to runQueryOnBackgroundThread and my FilterQueryProvider is called with the expected constraint. The database query goes fine and the cursor is returned.   I am displaying a progress bar using Async task class and simulatneously in parallel operation , i want to retrieve a string array from a function of another class that takes some time to return the string array. The problem is that when i place the function call in doing backgroung function of AsyncTask class , it gives an error in Doing Background and gives the message as cant change the UI in doing Background .. Therefore , i placed the function call in post Execute method of Asynctask class . It doesnot give an error but after the progress bar has reached 100% , then the screen goes black and takes some time to start the new activity.   I am trying rotate an ImageView along with its original location (rotating the image aswell as the view). So that After rotation, when I click on the rotated Image in its current position, it should be able clicked in the rotated location only. For this solution I am trying the following code. However it is rotating is going fine. After the rotation end I need to place the ImageView and Image in the rotated Location to make it able click over there only. But it is not going successfully. I am unable to rotated Image location axis points to place correctly. • SQL Server compare table entries for update

  I have a trade table with several million rows. Each row represents the version of a trade. If I'm given a possibly new trade I compare it to the latest version in the trade table. If it has changed I add a new version, otherwise I do nothing. In order to compare the 2 trades I read the version from the trade table into my application. This doesn't work well when I'm given 10s of thousands of possibly new trades. Even batching reads to read in a 1000 trades at once and compare them the whole process can take several minutes. All the time is spent in the DB. I'm trying to find a way to compare the possibly new trades to the ones in the trade table without so much I/O. What I've come up with so far is adding a hash column to each row in the trade table. The hash is of all the trade fields. Then when I'm given possibly new trades I compute their hash, put the values into a temporary table, then find ones that are different. This feels very hacky. Is there a better way of doing it?   Please see my below(SubjectDetailsDao.java) code of addZoneToDb method. My debugger is nicely running upto ** session.getTransaction().commit();** code. but after that debugger stops,I do not know why it stops after that line? .And because of this i am unable to insert my data into my database table.
