• Reading from txt ruins formatting

  I'm saving some values to a txt file and after that i want to be able to show it in a dialog.All good,done that but though the values in the txt file are formated nicely,like this : Aaaaaaaa 0.55 1 Bbbbb 1 2.2 CCCCCCCCC 3 0.22 When reading and setting them to a textview they get all messy like this : Aaaaaaaa 0.55 1 Bbbbb 1 2.2 CCCCCCCCC 3 0.22 My writting method : FileOutputStream f = new FileOutputStream(file); PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(f); for (int n = 0; n < allpret.size() - 1; n++) { if (cant[n] != Float.toString(0) && pret[n] != Float.toString(0)) { String myFormat = "%-20s %-5s %-5s%n"; pw.println(String.format(myFormat, prod[n], cant[n], pret[n])); My reading method : StringBuilder text = new StringBuilder(); try { BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file)); String line; while ((line = br.readLine()) != null) { text.append(line); text.append('\n'); } } catch (IOException e) { } Why does it ruin the amount of spaces and how can i fix this ?   Hi Guys, I have tried to implement Drupal connect with facebook functionality via fbconnect module. I have installed and set up the plugin. When I click on the facebook button the new popup window is opened and it requires my facebook credentials. After I enter those, instead of just simply logging in to my site, drupal asks of me to create a new account for drupal. This doesn't work for any of the UDP trackers I've found, any ideas why I'm not getting a response? Did they maybe change the protocol and not tell anyone? HTTP trackers all work fine.   Can someone please explain what this program is doing pointing out some of the major points? I'm looking at the code and I'm completely lost. I just need explanation on the encryption/decryption phases. I think it generates an AES 192 key at one point but I'm not 100% sure. Note: The reason behind the many /**/ Comments is to indicate that the functions do more than just opening threads, and threading is being used to make sure no blocking occurs (there a couple of "Signal.WaitOne()" around the code for synchronization)

This method is being called as List<FactorClass> listFC = new List<FactorClass>(); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "BKP", FactorValue="Book to price",IsGlobal =false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "YLD", FactorValue = "Dividend yield", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "EPM", FactorValue = "emp", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "SE", FactorValue = "something else", IsGlobal = false }); List<FactorClass> listFC1 = listFC.Search("BKP").ToList(); It is working fine. But a closer look into the extension method will reveal that Type k = t.GetType(); PropertyInfo pi = k.GetProperty("Name"); is actually inside a foreach loop which is actually not needed. • Which style is preferable when writing this boolean expression?

  I know this question is to some degree a matter of taste. I admit this is not something I don't understand, it's just something I want to hear others' opinion about. I need to write a method that takes two arguments, a boolean and a string. The boolean is in a sense (which will be obvious shortly) redundant, but it is part of a specification that the method must take in both arguments, and must raise an exception with a specific message text if the boolean has the "wrong" value. The bool must be true if and only if the string is not null or empty. So here are some different styles to write (hopefully!) the same thing. • Undefined Web.config error in VS 2008

  I'm working on a web app using VS 2008, .Net 3.5 and C#. Most of the projects in the solution are either classic asp.net pages with some MVC 1 in the mix, the rest is shared libraries. The solution is one that is some 5 years old and has gone through a variety of developers working on it and clearly has some performance and architectural issues. Previously, I've been working on the project using VS 2008 on a Win XP machine, but have just transitioned over to a new box using Win 7 Ultimate. To do so, I've installed VS 2008, asp.net 3.5. To support future work on the solution I've also installed VS 2010 and asp.net 4.0. Opening the solution on the new box with VS 2008 works fine, and it builds without error. However, when I attempt to run it with the debugger, I get the following message: "There is an error in web.config. Please correct before proceeding. (You might rename the current web.config and add a new one.)" I think it's clear that there is some sort of environmental issue regarding web.config on the new machine, but the error message is not "helpful". Adding a new web.config is not an option as the existing one is quite long and involved (too much to post here). I'm hoping someone has a suggestion or two about where I might look for missing elements or changed configurations that might produce such an error message. Lacking that, I'll revisit this post and provide the web.config in the hope that will elicit further help. Thanks to all in advance for taking a look at this. • Where should I initialize variables for an OO Recursive Descent Parse Tree?

  I'd like to preface this by stating that this is for a class, so please don't solve this for me. One of my labs for my cse class is creating an interpreter for a BNF that was provided. I understand most of the concepts, but I'm trying to build up my tree and I'm unsure where to initialize values. I've tried in both the constructor, and in the methods but Eclipse's debugger still only shows the left branch, even though it runs through completely. If I run the same query that I have to produce these results in sql analyser, I see 1 result. Can someone see why my query on my form produces a different result than the sql analyser does? • File Encrypt/Decrypt under load?

  I found an interesting article about encrypting and decrypting files but since it uses a file.dat to store the key this will run into problems when theres alot of users on the site dealing with alot of files. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/security/VernamEncryption.aspx?display=Print Should a new file be created every time a file needs decrypting or would there be a better way to do this?
