  • How to configure a Firebird Database to run in memory

    I'm running a software called Fishbowl inventory and it is running on a firebird database (Windows server 2003) at this time the fishbowl software is running extremely slow when more then one user accesses the software. I'm thinking I maybe able to speed up the application by forcing the database to run "In Memory". However I can not find documentation on how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.     Hi, I have an xml file the content which i have to write to a Database table using ssis pacakge. I am using xml source nad oledb destination My issue now is this xml file generate multiple outputs .(event,produt,offer,form) etc. But i need to write all in one data row(more than one if 2 products are there for the event) in the database. But i do not know how to use this multiple outputs and make a single row for a event. I hav read numerous articles about this subject but not able to take a decision.what is the right way of doing this. 1) xml source ? (if i use this how do i merge the multiple outputs) 2) or a script task using xml objects read and write to the DB. or anything new ?     I am trying to match a string to a regex pattern, but have some problems. My string could have 3 forms: [dbo].[Start] dbo.Start Start This is my regex: "^((\[)?dbo(\])?)?(\.)?(\[)?Start(\])?$" All 3 forms returns success but there are some more options such as: [dboStart or dbo[Start I know that this is because it is optional, but how could I make dependencies when making optional, so that if one optional has value then the second optional must have a value too. Could you help me please to fix this? Thanks.

    I have a MVC page which allows creation and editing of a subcontract. When the user has to select a company for the subcontract, I would like for them to have the option to create a new company. I've made a jQuery pop-up with the company fields, but I don't know how to then save this information to the company table. I would also like to be able to use the same pop-up to allow the user to edit the information for an existing company, but need direction in how to send the information to the pop-up.

    Hey guys, trying to optimize this query to solve a duplicate user issue: SELECT userid, 'ismaster' AS name, 'false' AS propvalue FROM user WHERE userid NOT IN (SELECT userid FROM userprop WHERE name = 'ismaster'); The problem is that the select after the NOT IN is 120.000 records and it's taking forever. Any suggestion?

  • How to make comment reply query in MYSQL?

    I am having comment reply (only till one level) functionality. All comments can have as many as replies but no replies can have their further replies. So my database table structure is like below Id ParentId Comment 1 0 this is come sample comment text 2 0 this is come sample comment text 3 0 this is come sample comment text 4 1 this is come sample comment text 5 0 this is come sample comment text 6 3 this is come sample comment text 7 1 this is come sample comment text In the above structures, commentid, 1 (has 2 replies) and 3 (1 reply) has replies. So to fetch the comments and their replies, one simple method is first I fetch all the comments having ParentId as 0 and then by running a while loop fetch all the replies of that particular commentId. But that seems to be running hundreds of queries if I'll have around 200 comments on a particular record. So I want to make a query which will fetch Comments with their replies sequentially as following; Id ParentId Comment 1 0 this is come sample comment text 4 1 this is come sample comment text 7 1 this is come sample comment text 2 0 this is come sample comment text 3 0 this is come sample comment text 6 3 this is come sample comment text 5 0 this is come sample comment text I also have a comment date column in my comment table, if anyone wants to use this with comment query. So finally I want to fetch all the comments and their replies by using one single mysql query. Please tell me how I can do that? Thanks

    I am busy with my web application for a school project. It has has two pages. The first page uploads the location(latitude and longitude), price, date and kind of fuel. It works and i saved it with websql.(see screenshot) Now i want to get everything out of the web database and put it as a marker on my google maps card. I have my own location already. But i dont know how to get everything from the database to the map as a marker. I'm using jquery mobile/html5/css/javascript only.     Consider the following table: Orders OrderId Date CustomerId 1000 2012-06-05 20:03:12.000 51 1001 2012-06-16 12:02:31.170 48 1002 2012-06-18 19:45:16.000 33 When I extract the Order data using FOR XML: SELECT OrderId AS 'Order/@Order-Id', Date AS 'Order/ShipDate', CustomerId AS 'Order/Customer' FROM Orders WHERE OrderId = 1000 FOR XML PATH ('') I get the following result: <Order Order-Id="1000"> <ShipDate>2010-02-20T16:03:12</ShipDate> <Customer>51</Customer> </Order> The problem is, the ShipDate value in the XML file needs to be in the format M/DD/YYYY H:mm:ss PM. How can I change the output of the ShipDate in the XML file to the desired format? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    These are the (pseudo) models I've got. Blog: name etc... Article: name blog creator etc User (as per django.contrib.auth) So my problem is this: I've got two users. I want to get all of the articles that the two users published on the same blog (no matter which blog). I can't simply filter the Article model by both users, because that would yield the set of Articles created by both users. Obviously not what I want. but can I filter somehow to get all of the articles where a field of the object matches between the two querysets?

  • Postgres update rule returning number of rows affected

    I have a view table which is a union of two seperate tables (say Table _A and Table _B). I need to be able to update a row in the view table, and it seems the way to do this was through a 'view rule'. All entries in the view table have seperate id's, so an id that exists in table _A won't exist in table _B. I created the following rule: CREATE OR REPLACE RULE view_update AS ON UPDATE TO viewtable DO INSTEAD ( UPDATE _A SET foo = false WHERE old.id = _A.id; UPDATE _B SET foo = false WHERE old.id = _B.id; ); If I do an update on table _B it returns the correct number of rows affected (1). However if I update table _A it returns (0) rows affected even though the data was changed. If I swap out the order of the updates then the same thing happens, but in reverse. How can I solve this problem so that it returns the correct number of rows affected. Thanks.

  • Move million records from MEMORY table to MYISAM table.

    Hi, I am looking for a fast way to move records from a MEMORY table to MYISAM table. MEMORY table has around 0.5 million records. Both tables have exactly the same structure (same number of columns, data types etc.). But the MYISAM table is indexed (B-TREE) on a few columns. There are around 25 columns most of which are unsigned integers. I have already tried using "INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM " query. But is there any faster way to do this? Appreciate your help. Prashant

    I am trying to call a stored procedure over a database link. The code looks something like this: declare symbol_cursor package_name.record_cursor; symbol_record package_name.record_name; begin symbol_cursor := package_name.function_name('argument'); loop fetch symbol_cursor into symbol_record; exit when symbol_cursor%notfound; -- Do something with each record here, e.g.: dbms_output.put_line( symbol_record.field_a ); end loop; CLOSE symbol_cursor; When I run this from the same DB instance and schema where package_name belongs to I am able to run it fine. However, when I run this over a database link, (with the required modification to the stored proc name, etc) I get an oracle error: ORA-24338: statement handle not executed.   • DB Designer creates compound primary key

    When adding relationships to a database model in DB Designer 4, a composite primary key is being created every time. So every foreign key I add, I get an extra key added to a composite primary key. I think I must have changed a setting as I don't remember it doing this in the past. Does anyone know how to turn off this feature as I prefer to use a single surrogate primary keys in my database tables?
