  • IIS 7 Website Migration & Configuration

    Hi - I am in the process of migrating an existing webserver running IIS 6 to IIS 7. I have setup the new websites on the new server but cant seem to test them as once I have entered the domain name when I selec t "browse" from within IIS 7 I get the site on my original server. How can I test the configuration of my new sites on my new server before migrating the domain names (eg updating the DNS records etc.)? Any help much appreciated.

  • SSL configuration

    I am trying to setup the ssl_requirement plugin. For my users controller I would like to require ssl for new and create. When I open users/new the browser redirects to https but I get an unable to connect error message. The application error log says : Filter chain halted as [:ensure_proper_protocol] rendered_or_redirected. I am not sure if I have configured the plugin incorrectly or if I made an error with the nginx configuration.

Even if I define a datasource and call it via JNDI, I still have some properties that I want to change, like hibernate.dialect or hibernate.show_sql, for example. I tried using: <property name="hibernate.ejb.cfgfile" value="some-file.xml" /> and it works fine when some-file.xml is in jar file, but how to call it from another location.     One of the downsides of web.config/app.config is that it's just Magic Strings everywhere, since it's just an XML file. Interpreted languages like PHP or Ruby have the advantage that the configuration is just code that is executed. In .net, doing stuff in code requires a redeployment, which defeats the purpose. Now, before I build my own web.config replacement based on Boo or PowerShell I wanted to know if there is an existing one?

    Hello everybody. On my wordpress website one little thing doesn't work. Sometimes the Webserver adds the port number 16080 in the URL, which leads to an error (network timeout). Wrong: http://www.example.com:16080/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Correct: http://www.example.com/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Has someone a "Server port 16080 problem fix"?     Hello everybody, I've got a question concerning nasm and its linkage to C++. I declare a litte test function as extern "C" void __cdecl myTest( byte i1, byte i2, int stride, int *width ); and I call it like this: byte i1 = 1, i2 = 2; int stride = 3, width = 4; myTest( i1, i2, stride, &width ); the method only serves to debug assembly and have a look at how the stack pointer is used to get the arguments. beyond that, the pointer arguments value shall be set to 7, to figure out how that works. This is implemented like this: global _myTest _myTest: mov eax, [esp+4] ; 1 mov ebx, [esp+8] ; 2 mov ecx, dword [esp+16] ; width mov edx, dword [esp+12] ; stride mov eax, dword [esp+16] mov dword [eax], 7 ret and compiled via yasm -f win32 -g cv8 -m x86 -o "$(IntDir)\$(InputName).obj" "$(InputPath)" , then linked to the c++ app. In debug mode, everything works fine. the function is called a couple of times and works as expected, whereas in release mode the function works once, but subsequent programm operations fail. It seems to me that something's wrong with stack/frame pointers, near/far, but I'm quite new to this subject and need a little help. thanks in advance! a.

  • How to setup a Zend_Application with an application.ini and a user.ini

    I am using Zend_Application and it does not feel right that I am mixing in my application.ini both application and user configuration. What I mean with this is the following. For example, my application needs some library classes in the namespace MyApp_ . So in application.ini I put autoloaderNamespaces[] = "MyApp_". This is pure application configuration, no-one except a programmer would change these. On the other hand I put there a database configuration, something that a SysAdmin would change. My idea is that I would split options between an application.ini and an user.ini, where the options in user.ini take preference (so I can define standard values in application.ini). Is this a good idea? How can I best implement this? The idea's I have are Extending Zend_Application to take multiple config files Making an init function in my Bootstrap loading the user.ini Parsing the config files in my index.php and pass these to Zend_Application (sounds ugly) What shall I do? I would like to have the 'cleanest' solution, which is prepared for the future (newer ZF versions, and other developers working on the same app)
