• Implement F3 Find Next using TFindDialog

  Hi I've implemented a search using the TFindDialog on my form. Everything works well except that I cannot find a way to mimic the "F3 - Find Next" behaviour as in Notepad. Once you have entered a search string, pressing F3 finds the next instance without opening the search dialog. Regards, Pieter.

Coding style issues aside, and assuming that the exception is never triggered, how much difference does it make (performance-wise) to have an exception handler, versus not having one, versus having a compare-to-zero if-statement?

  Hi, I've been using Visual Studio's property sheets for building my code and I have a useful hierarchy of sheets controlling the build settings, rather than having them in the vcproj files. This is great except for one thing. I can't seem to set properties in the Project Defaults section such as CharacterType and ConfigurationType. I tried using a VCConfiguration tool in the vsprops but to no avail: <Tool Name="VCConfiguration" ConfigurationType="4" /> Can anyone tell me how this is accomplished please?

For instance, instead of mvn eclipse:eclipse completion escapes the colon mvn eclipse\:eclipse Any suggestions how this can be fixed? • Can I enable/disable breaking on Exceptions programatically?

  I want to be able to break on Exceptions when debugging... like in Visual Studio 2008's Menu Debug/Exception Dialog, except my program has many valid exceptions before I get to the bit I wish to debug. So instead of manually enabling and disabling it using the dialog every time is it possible to do it automatically with a #pragma or some other method so it only happens in a specific piece of code?

• JavaScript regex - positive lookahead -- giving me syntax errors

  This piece of regex (?<=href\=")[^]+?(?=#_) is supposed to match everything in a href value except the the hash value and what follows it within the href url. It appears to work fine under Regex debuggers/testers such as http://gskinner.com/RegExr/ but in javascript it appears to produce syntax error. If i remove the < from the (?<=) it works however, that's not the positive lookahead I am looking for. I am pulling my hair off, as usual, thanks to Regex lol Please help

  To test if i can connect to my database, I execute the following code : using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(myConnectionString)) { try { connection.Open(); canConnect = true; } catch (SqlException) { } } This works except it throws an exception if the connection failed. Is there any other way to test a Sql connection that doesn't throw an exception ? Edit : To add precision, i'm asking if there is a simple method that does that without having to open the connection and catch exceptions that can occur

  In silverlight, how do I create a usercontrol whose parent must be of a specific control? Eg. I create control Foo, Foo can only be a child of control FooParent. If in blend, they drag it to inside anything except for a FooParent control, it throws error. Foo should then be able to access properties and public methods of FooParent.   I'm using will_paginate for pagination, which has been working well so far, except for this one thing. If I try to paginate a scope, for instance class User < ActiveRecord::Base named_scope :scope, lambda { etc } end User.scope.paginate({:page => params[:page], :per_page => 10}) That will tell me paginate is an undefined method. I'd rather not have to use a second solution for only this scope, is there something I can do here?
