• How to set the focus on the first <select> element of the page using JQuery?

  Hi. I would like to set the focus on the first element of the page using JQuery when the page is loaded. I could successfully set the focus for first element by using $(":input:visible:first").focus(); or $(':input:enabled:visible:first').focus(); , according to jquery, set focus on the first enabled input or select or textarea on the page . I tried to use something like $('select:first').focus(); or $("select").first().focus(); or $(':visible:first').focus(); or $('enabled:visible:first').focus(); or other variations I could think of, but have not succeeded. Could anyone help me on this problem? I am a beginner for JQuery. I would like this function to work for all major browsers. Thank you very much!

• JQuery .get() only passing first two data parameters in url

  I have a $.get() call to a PHP page that takes 4 GET parameters. For some reason, despite giving the $.get() call all 4, it only passes the first two. When I look at the dev console in chrome, it shows the URL that gets called, and it only passes action and dbname. • Overlay only draws line between first 2 GPS points in Android

  Hi, I am experiencing an unusual error using ItemizedOverlay in Android. I am creating a GPS tracking device that plots a route between waypoints stored in a database. • iPhone: In landscape-only, after first addSubview, UITableViewController doesn't rotate properly

  A minimal illustrative Xcode project for this is available on github. On my UIWindow, when I add second (and subsequent) UITableView's as subviews, they do not rotate properly, and thus appear sideways. This is only tested in the Simulator.   Greetings, I have a form with a variable number of inputs, a simplified version of which looks like this: <form> <label for="same">all the same as first?</label> <input id="same" name="same" type="checkbox" /> <input type="text" id="foo[1]" name="foo[1]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[2]" name="foo[2]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[3]" name="foo[3]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[4]" name="foo[4]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[5]" name="foo[5]" value="" /> </form> The idea is to tick the #same checkbox and have jQuery copy the value from #foo[1] into #foo[2], #foo[3], etc. They also need to clear if #same is unchecked. There can be any number of #foo inputs, based upon input from a previous stage of the form, and this bit is giving me trouble. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't get any variation on $('#dest').val($('#source').val()); to work. Help!

• Nested Linear layout only shows first view after being set from gone to visible in Android

  Hi guys, I am developing an Android app but I'm still pretty new. I want to have a button, and when you push that button, a few TextViews and Buttons will appear. So I have a main linear layout, and then another linear layout nested inside containing the things I want hidden. I have the nested linear layout set to android:visibility="gone". The problem I am having is that it only shows the first item inside the hidden linear layout instead of all of them. • x-dom-event-stream in Opera 10 Only Working on First Event

  I have a python script (in the CherryPy framework) that sends Event: and data: text as this Opera blog post describes to a client browser. The javascript that recieves the x-dom-event-stream content is almost identical to what they show in the blog post. However, the browser displays only the first event sent. Anyone know what I'm missing? I tried a few older versions of Opera and found that it works in Opera 9.52 but not in any newer versions. What did they change?   This problem may seem like school work, but it isn't. At best it is self-imposed school work. I encourage any teachers to take is as an example if they wish. "First past the post" elections are single-round, meaning that whoever gets the most votes win, no second rounds. Suppose a table for an election. CREATE TABLE ElectionResults ( DistrictHnd INTEGER NOT NULL, PartyHnd INTEGER NOT NULL, CandidateName VARCHAR2(100) NOT NULL, TotalVotes INTEGER NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY DistrictHnd, PartyHnd); The table has two foreign keys: DistrictHnd points to a District table (lists all the different electoral districts) and PartyHnd points to a Party table (lists all the different political parties). I won't bother with other tables here, joining them is trivial. This is just a wee bit of context. The question: What SQL query will return a table listing the DistrictHnd, PartyHnd, CandidateName and TotalVotes of the winners (max votes) in each District? This does not suppose any particular database system. If you wish to stick to a particular implementation of SQL, go the way of SQLite and MySQL. If you can devise a better schema (or an easier one), that is acceptable too. Criteria: simplicity, portability to other databases.

  These formsets are exhibiting exactly the opposite behavior that I want. But I want that one form to be required! When I dynamically add blank forms with JavaScript and vehicles_formset.empty_form all those extra forms are required, which I don't want. From the docs: The formset is smart enough to ignore extra forms that were not changed. This is the behavior the first form is exhibiting (not what I want) but not the behavior that the extra forms are exhibiting (what I do want). Is there some attribute I can can change to at least make one form required?

  Hi, I am writing up my thesis in Latex and have a template. It works nicely for every thing else except one. Chapter numbers are correctly incremented on the first page of each chapter but for consecutive pages of each chapter, the header saying "Chapter x - This is a chapter title" have 1 always as chapter number. • Textured Primitives in XNA with a first person camera

  So I have a XNA application set up. The camera is in first person mode, and the user can move around using the keyboard and reposition the camera target with the mouse. I have been able to load 3D models fine, and they appear on screen no problem. Whenever I try to draw any primitive (textured or not), it does not show up anywhere on the screen, no matter how I position the camera. • C# Regex stops after first line matched

  Ok so I have a regex and I need it to find matches in a multiline string. This is the string I am using: Device Identifier: disk0 Device Node: /dev/disk0 Part of Whole: disk0 Device / Media Name: OCZ-VERTEX2 Media Volume Name: Not applicable (no file system) Mounted: Not applicable (no file system) File System: None Content (IOContent): GUID_partition_scheme OS Can Be Installed: No Media Type: Generic Protocol: SATA SMART Status: Verified Total Size: 240.1 GB (240057409536 Bytes) (exactly 468862128 512-Byte-Blocks) Volume Free Space: Not applicable (no file system) Device Block Size: 512 Bytes Read-Only Media: No Read-Only Volume: Not applicable (no file system) Ejectable: No Whole: Yes Internal: Yes Solid State: Yes OS 9 Drivers: No Low Level Format: Not supported Basically I need to separate each line into two groups with the colon as the separator. The regex I am using is: @"([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+):([A-Za-z0-9\(\) \-\/]+).*" It does work but only picks up the first line and separates it into the two groups like I want but it stops at that point. I have tried the Multiline option but it doesn't make any difference. I must admit I am new to the regex world. Any help is appreciated.

• Forwarding first responder to UIScrollView unsuccessful

  Hello, I am trying to create an image cropping bpx whereby the underlying image can be zoomed an scrolled while the cropping "maskview" layer stays the same and the corners can be dragged in any direction. To achieve this, the ImageView is added to a UIScrollView, and this is added to the SelectionViewController.view . I then add the cropping "maskview" layer to the SelectionViewController.view. I did this instead of adding to the scrollview so that the cropping maskview won't be expanded when the underlying image expands. @interface SelectionViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> { UIImageView *photoview; // Added to self.scrollview MaskedView *maskedview; // Added to self.view UIScrollView *scrollview; // Added to self.view } The maskview has first responder status and responds accordingly. However, the only event I am interested in the maskview is if any of the corners are dragged (this works fine). The problem I want to try to solve is two-fold: If it is a pinch or zoom gesture, I am trying to forward the responder to the UIScrollview using: [self.nextResponder touchesMoved:touches withEvent:event]; The scrollview does not seem to respond. I have confirmed that the self.nextResponder after the maskedview is the SelectionViewController's view itself. From there, it doesn't seem like the UIScrollview responds. It does respond fine if I remove the cropping maskedview. If I zoom in on the underlying image and the cropping maskview rectangle is still the same, I want to now crop the actual zoomed image. Let's say for the upper left hand corner of the crop box, how can I find what the coordinates translates to in the underlying UIImageView now that the image has been zoomed? Any insight into either of these questions would be appreciated. Thank you, Winston

• mySQL removes first digit

• Efficient algorithm to find first available name

  I have an array containing names of items. I want to give the user the option to create items without specifying their name, so my program will have to supply a unique default name, like "Item 1". The challenge is that the name has to be unique so i have to check all the array for that default name, and if there is an item with the same name i have to change the name to be "Item 2" and so on until i find an available name. The obvious solution will be something like that: String name; for (int i = 0 , name = "Item " + i ; !isAvailable(name) ; i++); My problem with that algorithm is that it runs at O(N^2). I wonder if there is a known (or new) more efficient algorithm to solve this case. In other words my question is this: Is there any algorithm that finds the first greater-than-zero number that dose NOT exist in a given array, and runs at less that N^2? Thanks!

  Ahoy hoy everyone :) Here is a list of links. You will need it when reading the post. I am a newbie to Objective-C and try to learn it for iPhone-App-Development. I used the tutorial linked in the link list to create a standard app with a simple basic Navigation. This app contains a "RootView" that is displayed at startup. The startup screen itself contains three elements wich all link to SubViewOne. I have got it to work this far. So what i want to change is to make the second element link to SubViewTwo.
