    I have a core data entity that represents the attributes of a product, as number, price, etc. The product number is a NSString property and follows the form X.y where X is a number variable of digits and Y is one digit.     Hi folks, quite recently I read about javascript call usage in MDC https://developer.mozilla.org/en/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Function/call one linke of the example shown below, I still don't understand. Why are they using inheritance here like this Prod_dept.prototype = new Product(); is this necessary? Because there is a call to the super-constructor in Prod_dept() anyway, like this Product.call is this just out of common behaviour? Here is the sample POJO class class Product{ int product_id; String name; String description; } and Class Item{ int item_id; String name; String description; int quantity; int product_id; //Note that there is no composed product object. } Now I want to perform a query like select * from Product p left outer join Item i on p.product_id = i.item_id I want a multidimensional array as an output of this query so that I can have separate instances of Product and Item, instead of one composed in another.     I am going crazy with this one I have this folders and files structure / /projects /mytest /install /index.php /product /resources So, inside my install/index.php file I am trying to verify if /product folder does exist. I know that the folder exists, but looks like PHP doesn't. My code: if(file_exists('../../mytest/product') && is_dir('../../mytest/product')) { echo 'Folder exists!'; } else { echo 'PHP is blind or something!'; } Maybe I am very tired, but I just cannot figure out what is wrong.     I have a mapping like this: @ManyToMany(cascade = CascadeType.PERSIST) @JoinTable( name="product_product_catalog", joinColumns={@JoinColumn(name="product_catalog", referencedColumnName="product_catalog")}, inverseJoinColumns={@JoinColumn(name="product", referencedColumnName="product")}) public List<Product> products = new ArrayList<Product>(); I can fetch the products for the catalog nicely, but I can't (dynamically) order the products. How could I order them? I probably have to write a many-to-many HQL query with the order-by clause? I though of passing the orderBy field name string to the query, or is there a better solution? Tables are: products, product_catalog, product_product_catalog (associative table) P.S. Using Play! Framework JPASupport for my entities.

  • Firing PropertyChanged event in a complex, nested type in WPF

    Hey I have a question about the PropertyChanged vent firing in WPF whne it is used in a complex type. I have a class called DataStore and a list of Departments (an ObservableCollection), and each department again has a list of Products. Properties in the Product class that are changed also affect properties in the Department and DataStore class. How does each Product notify the Department it belongs to, and the DataStore (which is the mother class of all) that one or more of its properties have changed their values? Example: a product has a property NumberSoldToday and is bound. The Department has a property called TotalNumberOfProductsSold: public int TotalNumberOfProductsSold { get { int result = 0; foreach(Product p in this.products) result += p.NumberSoldToday; return result; } } And the data store has a property TotalProductsSold (for all departments): public int TotalProductsSold { get { int result = 0; foreach(Product p in this.deparments) result += p.TotalNumberOfProductsSold; return result; } } If all these properties are bound, and the innermost property changes, it must somehow notify that the value of the other 2 changed as well. How? The only way I can see this happening is to hook up the PropertyChanged event in each class. Th event must also fire when deleting, adding to the collection of products and deparments, respectively. Is there a better, more clever way to do this?

  • Hibernate Query - Get latest versions by timestamp?

    I have a database that is being used as a sort of version control system. That is, instead of ever updating any rows, I add a new row with the same information. Each row also contains a version column that is a date timestamp, so the only difference is the new row will have a more recent timestamp. What I'm having trouble with is writing an efficient hibernate query to return the latest version of these rows. For the sake of example, these are rows in a table called Product, the timestamped column is version. There are multiple versions of multiple products in the table. So there may be multiple versions (rows) of ProductA, multiple versions of ProductB, etc. And I would like to grab the latest version of each. Can I do this in just a single hibernate query? session.createQuery("select product from Product product where...?"); Or would this require some intermediate steps?

  • IEnumerator seems to be effecting all objects, and not one at a time

    Hey, I am trying to alter an attribute of an object. I am setting it to the value of that same attribute stored on another table. There is a one to many relationship between the two. The product end is the one and the versions is the many. Right now, both these methods that I have tried have set all the products returned equal to the final version object. So, in this case they are all the same. I am not sure where the issue lies. Here are my two code snipets, both yield the same result. int x = 1 IEnumerator<Product> ie = productQuery.GetEnumerator(); while (ie.MoveNext()) { ie.Current.RSTATE = ie.Current.Versions.First(o => o.VersionNumber == x).RSTATE; x++; } and foreach (var product in productQuery) { product.RSTATE = product.Versions.Single(o => o.VersionNumber == x).RSTATE; x++; } The versions table holds information for previous products, each is distinguished by the version number. I know that it will start at 1 and go until it reaches the current version, based on my query returning the proper number of products. Thanks for any advice.

  • Comma separated values in a database field

    I have a products table. Each row in that table corresponds to a single product and it's identified by a unique Id. Now each product can have multiple "codes" associated with that product. For example: Id | Code ---------------------- 0001 | IN,ON,ME,OH 0002 | ON,VI,AC,ZO 0003 | QA,PS,OO,ME What I'm trying to do is create a stored procedure so that I can pass in a codes like "ON,ME" and have it return every product that contains the "ON" or "ME" code. Since the codes are comma separated, I don't know how I can split those and search them. Is this possible using only TSQL? Edit: It's a mission critical table. I don't have the authority to change it.

  • Defining Views Based On Selection

    Well the title isn't very descriptive but I'm not exactly sure how to explain but here goes! I have a web application (can use either MVC or standard web forms) which a user signs in to. If the user has signed up for more than one product they will have the option to switch between them. For the sakes of this example lets say User1 signs in and has access to Product1, Product2 and Product3. Now, each product will be very different and offer different functionally. What I want is the main view to be focused around the product they have selected and not redirected to a sub domain. What I don't want to have to do is get them to go to www.mysite.com/product1 or www.mysite.com/product2 but simply www.mysite.com regardless of the product they have selected and have the site render the views etc for that product. Wow does any of that make any sense? I was thinking mabe the use of sessions or something and URL rewriting? Are there any sample apps out there that make use of the same kind of functionallity that I could take a look at? Thanks for any help I appreciate it!

Are there any answers to why my concatenation won't work the way I want it in the label, but works fine with the TextBox?

    Hi all, In one of my latest projects I use Solr 1.4 for searching products.However I have ran into a slight problem, which I aint sure if its possible to do using Solr. All products are indexed by "country" and "category" and the "id", "class" and "description" are stored values. I now have been requested to extract a sample list of products that we have for a give "category" and "ONLY RETURNING ONE" product for each country where the product is available. In my current implementation, I have a dismax query to get a list of all the countries that correspond to the catergory, then I call again solr to extract all products for each country, limiting the no. rows by the size of the countries found in the previous query. The problem I have with this current implementation is I can not be certain that I have one product for each country in the list. Therefore would anyone know if it possible to tell solr that you want only one product per country provided in the query? Any guidance would be useful.
