  • Adding addresses to ActiveDirectory with Thunderbird

    We use a Windows 2003 server and XP stations. The server's LDAP is working ok, as I am able to retrieve the addresses it contains with Thunderbird. I'd like to be able to ADD an address to the server's book (the address of a new contact that freshly wrote me, for example) directly from Thunderbird, but that doesn't seem possible. What can I do ?

    I am setting up a spring mvc web application + hibernate jpa + maven from scratch using Eclipse Indigo. I am stuck in this error when doing a Maven build. I even search the whole project for the text <extension>war</ and mysteriously, there is no text like this in my project.     Hello, I am starting with spring-roo, so I downloaded it and now I'm trying to export the variable. To get it, I tryed: PATH=$PATH:/Users/myUsr/spring-roo/bin export PATH PATH variable my-Name-3:~ myUsr$ echo $PATH /sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/Users/myUsr/spring-roo/bin In this path (/Users/myUsr/spring-roo/bin), there is roo.sh But then, I can not run the command roo as it is suposed to be.     I'm quite new to Quartz and now I need to schedule some jobs in Spring Web App. I know about Spring + Quartz integration (I'm using Spring v 3.1.1) but I'm wondering if it's the right way to follow. In particular I need to persist my scheduled tasks in a DB so I can re-initialize them when application is restarted. Are there some utilities provided by Spring scheduling wrapper to do this? Can you suggest me some "well known" approach to follow?

However, I noticed that the project settings for Spring allows for the creation of "Config Sets" -- which look like groups of bean configuration files. I cannot find documentation for this feature anywhere...anyone know what it does?

    I am successfully injecting base class properties with spring.net with just a class that inherits from a base abstract class. Lets say Class MyClass : MyBase, and I am successfully setting a property like this: <object id="myInstantiableClass" type="myAssembly.MyClass myAssenbly" abstract="true"> <property name="MyBaseClassProperty" ref="anotherObjRef"></property> </object> Where MyBaseClassProperty is a property on the base class. Now I have another abstract class between the old base class and the instantiable class, and I am trying to set properties on both the abstract classes. So MyClass : MyNewBaseClass, and MyNewBaseClass : MyBaseClass. I have an additional property on the new base class (MyNewBaseClassProperty) and I am trying to inject it like this: <object id="myInstantiableClass" type="myAssembly.MyClass myAssenbly" abstract="true"> <property name="MyBaseClassProperty" ref="anotherObjRef"></property> <property name="MyNewBaseClassProperty" ref="someOtherObjRef"></property> </object> The property on the old base class is being injected but the one on the new one is not - and I am not getting an error or anything (so I am pretty sure my config is good), that property is just null! Any help appreciated! P.S. I am on asp.net (not MVC) but I don't think it's related.

I have configured a bean which I intend to use as a factory bean. <bean id="jsServicesFactory" class="x.y.z.JSServicesFactory" /> It is a very basic class - which has 4 getter methods. When I start my server in RAD, this all works perfectly.   • using spring, hibernate and scala, is there a better way to load test data than dbunit?

    Here are some things I really dislike about dbunit: 1) You cannot specify the exact ordering the inserts because dbunit likes to group your inserts by table name, and not by the order you define them in the XML file. This is a problem when you have records depending on other records in other tables, so you have to disable foreign key constraints during your tests... which actually sucks because these foreign key constraints will get fired in production while your tests won't be aware of them! 2) They seem hellbent on forcing you to use an xml namespace to define your xml... and I honestly can't be bothered to do this. I like the data.xml without any namespace. It works. But they are so hellbent on deprecating it. 3) Creating different xml files is hard on a per test basis, so it actually encourages creating data for your entire app. Unfortunately, this process is a little bloated too once the data grows in size and things get inter tangled. There has got to be a better way to split up your test data into chunks without having to copy/paste a lot of the test data across all of your tests. 4) Keeping track of id references in a big xml file is just impossible. If you have 130 domain classes, it just gets bewildering. This model simply does not scale. Is there something less bloated and better in the Spring/Hibernate space? db unit has worn out its welcome and I'm really looking for something better.

Application contains "dashboards" which are simple pages where a bunch of information are regrouped and where user can modify some status. Managers want me to add a logging system in database for three of theses dashboards. Each dashboard has different information but the log should be traced by date and user's login. Code which otherwise executes fine within Springframework injection loaded webapps (java) will get encoding issues when run in threads scheduled by quartz. Is there anyone who can help me out? All source is compiled using maven2 with source and file encodings configured as UTF-8. When the report is edited, the spring controller handling the POST request is receiving a report where the user object is null. Here is what my controller looks like: @Controller @RequestMapping("/report") public class ReportController { @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.GET) public String editReport(@PathVariable Long id, Model model) { Report r = backend.getReport(id); // fully loads object model.addAttribute("report", report); return "report/edit"; } @RequestMapping(value = "/edit/{id}", method = RequestMethod.POST) public String process(@ModelAttribute("report") Report r) { backend.save(r); return "redirect:/report/show" + r.getId(); } } I ran things throw the debugger and it looks like in the editReport method the model object is storing the fully loaded report object (I can see the user inside the report). On the form jsp I can do the following: ${report.user.username} and the correct result is rendered. However, when I look at the debugger in the process method, the passed in Report r has a null user. I don't need to do any special data binding to ensure that information is retained do I?

  • Spring MVC: Where to place validation and how to validation entity references.

    Let's say I have the following command bean for creating a user: public class CreateUserCommand { private String userName; private String email; private Integer occupationId; pirvate Integer countryId; } occupationId and countryId are drop down selected values on the form. They map to an entity in the database (Occupation, Country). This command object is going to be fed to a service facade like so: userServiceFacade.createUser(CreateUserCommand command); This facade will construct a user entity to be sent to the actual service. So I suppose that in the facade layer I will have to make several dao calls to map all the lookup properties of the User entity. Based on this what is the best strategy to validate that occupationId and countryId map to real entities? Where is the best place to perform this validation? There is the spring validator but I am not sure this is the best place for this, for one I am wary of this method as validation is tied to the web tier, but also that means I would need to make the dao calls in the validator for validation but I would need to call the dao's in the facade layer again when the command - entity translation occurs. Is there anything I can do better? Thanks.

Without being spoonfed, could someone point me in the right direction? I've done some extensive research, but nothing I could find really assists with figuring out which CN's and OU's to use. Yes I realize I need to be using the correct CN's and OU's that correspond to my location, but I've been trying the guess and check method to no avail, so I figured I would ask.     I have in Softerra LDAP Administration something like the following: server: blah.gov OU=Domain Controllers etc... ldap://subdomain.blah.gov I can't figure out how to, in C#, get those other ldap subdomain query strings. I'm not sure how else to explain it, so ask questions and I'll try to clarify. Updated: This is what Softerra LDAP Administrator looks like. The ldap queries near the bottom are not children of the above node, but somehow, the program knows about them and linked them in the GUI. If I could figure out how, that would fix my problem.

    I'm trying to make this 2-player web game application using Spring MVC. I have session-scoped beans Player and application-scoped bean GameList, which creates and stores Game instances and passes them to Players. On player creates a game and gets its ID from GameList and other player sends ID to GameList and gets Game instance. The Game instance has its players as attributes. Problem is that each player sees only himself instead of the other one. Example of what each player sees: First player (Alice) creates a game: Creator: Alice, Joiner: Empty Second player (Bob) joins the game: Creator: Bob, Joiner: Bob First player refreshes her browser Creator: Alice, Joiner: Alice What I want them to see is Creator: Alice, Joiner: Bob. Easy way to achieve this is saving information about players instead of references to players, but the game object needs to call methods on its player objects, so this is not a solution. I think it's because of aop:scoped-proxy of session-scoped Player bean. If I understand this, the Game object has reference to proxy, which refers to Player object of current session.   • Managing access to multiple linux system

    A searched for answers but have found nothing on here... Long story short: a non-profit organization is in dire need of modernizing its infrastructure. First thing is to find an alternatives to managing user accounts on a number of Linux hosts. We have 12 servers (both physical and virtual) and about 50 workstations. We have 500 potential users for these systems. The individual who built and maintained the systems over the years has retired. He wrote his own scripts to manage it all. It still works. No complaints there. However, a lot of the stuff is very manual and error-prone. Code is messy and after updates often needs to be tweaked. Worst part is there is little to no docs written. There are just a few ReadMe's and random notes which may or may not be relevant anymore. So maintenance has become a difficult task. Currently accounts are managed via /etc/passwd on each system. Updates are distributed via cron scripts to correct systems as accounts are added on the "main" server. Some users have to have access to all systems (like a sysadmin account), others need access to shared servers, while others may need access to workstations or only a subset of those. Is there a tool that can help us manage accounts that meets the following requirements? Preferably open source (i.e. free as budget is VERY limited) mainstream (i.e. maintained) preferably has LDAP integration or could be made to interface with LDAP or AD service for user authentication (will be needed in the near future to integrate accounts with other offices) user management (adding, expiring, removing, lockout, etc) allows to manage what systems (or group of systems) each user has access to - not all users are allowed on all systems support for user accounts that could have different homedirs and mounts available depending on what system they are logged into. For example sysadmin logged into "main" server has main://home/sysadmin/ as homedir and has all shared mounts sysadmin logged into staff workstations would have nas://user/s/sysadmin as homedir(different from above) and potentially limited set of mounts, a logged in client would have his/her homedir at different location and no shared mounts. If there is an easy management interface that would be awesome. And if this tool is cross-platform (Linux / MacOS / *nix), that will be a miracle! I have searched the web and so have found nothing suitable. We are open to any suggestions. Thank you. EDIT: This question has been incorrectly marked as a duplicate. The linked to answer only talks about having same homedirs on all systems, whereas we need to have different homedirs based on what system user is currently logged into(MULTIPLE homedirs). and web service is up and running. I'm using Netbeans IDE in Ubuntu 12.04 to build and deploy the application and I couldn't figure out what is the issue here. I guess its about spring and jboss because its working in glassfish smoothly. Please help me to solve this issue. Thanks all in advance.

  • zimbra server server not sync with ldap server

    Please help me out I am intermediate on linux, 1) I do have zimbra mail server on ubuntu with ladap server and external openldap server in internal location 2) last weak we got renewed the SSL certificate on Zimbra server 3) after renewed the SSL certificate with 10 years in Zimber server its not able to sync the ladap details with internal OpenLdap server Please help me to fix this issue In advance thanks Regards Shreedhar.BH
