• Windows domain login to temporary user

  We have a Windows domain with about 60 user accounts. Sometimes when a user logs in to his computer (already his account is created and has files there) windows logs him to a temporary user, displaying his name and everything, but without his files and data. This problem is rare and is solved simply by logging out and logging in. I noticed that it occurs at a close timings; they all happen at the same day if they did. My question is why does that happen? I want to trace the problem because it is so annoying when it happens, and I can't find a relative event that may be causing it: no server is down when it happens, no system maintenance or anything. We're running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard, SP2 in the Domain Controller (and the same for the additional DC). The machines where this problem happened before are running Windows XP and Windows 7.

• SSIS – Delete all files except for the most recent one

  Quite often one or more sources for a data warehouse consist of flat files. Most of the times these files are delivered as a zip file with a date in the file name, for example FinanceDataExport_20100528.zip Currently I work at a project that does a full load into the data warehouse every night. A zip file with some flat files in it is dropped in a directory on a daily basis. Sometimes there are multiple zip files in the directory, this can happen because the ETL failed or somebody puts a new zip file in the directory manually. Because the ETL isn’t incremental only the most recent file needs to be loaded. To implement this I used the simple code below; it checks which file is the most recent and deletes all other files. • Cannot copy MP3 files from a CD

  I purchased a set of spoken word audio CD's that have MP3 and FLAC audio files; I think they also play as regular audio CD's because I see a CDA directory and .cda files. But I'm only interested in playing the MP3 files by copying them to my phone. Dolphin file manager shows all the files on the CD. However, it will not copy any of them to my hard drive, which is what my goal is. Dolphin shows no error, but the copy progress is zero. Amarok will play the files but not easily. I only tried the flac files. To play a file, I click the file in Dolphin, then I have to cancel a job using KDE's notification system, then Amarok proceeds to copy the file to a tmp directory which takes a long time, then it finally plays. kb3 will rip the audio, but I would prefer to copy the files directly from the CD. Since Dolphin would not copy the files, I thought I would try the terminal, but I can't get that to work either. mount -t auto -o ro /dev/sr0 /mnt/temp that gives the error: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock, etc. I get the same error using -t iso9660 and -t udf. so I started troubleshooting: ~$ wodim --devices wodim: Overview of accessible drives (1 found) : ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 dev='/dev/sg1' rwrw-- : 'MATSHITA' 'DVD-RAM UJ8A0AS' ------------------------------------------------------------------------- /dev/sg1 is not a block device sudo file -s /dev/sr0 ERROR: cannot read /dev/sr0 (input/output error) sudo file -s /dev/sg1 just hangs How can I copy these files to my computer hard disk?

• Drop all stored procedures in MySQL or using temporary stored procedures

  Is there a statement that can drop all stored procedures in MySQL? Alternatively (if the first one is not possible), is there such thing as temporary stored procedures in MySQL? Something similar to temporary tables? So far, for both tasks, I seem not to find any answers although there were people asking for those in other forums. Thank you.

• error initializing multiple configuration files

  I'm used to seeing temporary tables created with just the hash/number symbol, like this: CREATE TABLE #Test ( [Id] INT ) However, I've recently come across stored procedure code that specifies the schema name when creating temporary tables, for example: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[#Test] ( [Id] INT ) Is there any reason why you would want to do this? If you're only specifying the user's default schema, does it make any difference? Does this refer to the [dbo] schema in the local database or the tempdb database?

  I am processing large amounts of data in iterations, each and iteration processes around 10-50 000 records. Because of such large number of records, I am inserting them into a global temporary table first, and then process it. Usually, each iteration takes 5-10 seconds. Would it be wise to truncate the global temporary table after each iteration so that each iteration can start off with an empty table? There are around 5000 iterations.

• loading js files and other dependent js files asynchronously

  I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin... • Log4Net GetLogger creates rolling files even for the unreferenced files

  Hi, I have a C# solution that contains three executables. I have each of these three executables sharing the same log4net configuration file. At startup of each of the executable, they retrieve a logger (one logger per executable, as per configuration file further below). When one of the executable performs Log.GetLogger(), it creates all the rolling files instead of only the one rolling file that is referred to as appender-ref in the executable's logger configuration. For instance, when I startup my sending daemon executable, it performs Log.GetLogger("SendingDaemonLogger") which creates 3 files Log/RuleScheduler.txt, Log/NotificationGenerator.txt and Log/NotificationSender.txt instead of only the desired Log/NotificationSender.txt. Then when I startup another of the executables, for instance the rule scheduler daemon, this other process cannot write in Log/RuleScheduler.txt because it has been created and locked by the sending daemon process. I am guessing that there may be three different solutions to my problem: The GetLogger should only create the rolling file appenders that are referenced in the config I should have one config file per executable, this way each config file could list only one rolling file appender and starting each of the executable would not create the rolling files of the other daemons. I am however reluctant to do this because some of the configuration (SMTP appender, console appender) is shared between the daemons and I don't want to have duplicate copies to maintain. Unless there is a way to have a config file including another one? Maybe there is a way to configure the rolling file so that concurrent access across processes is allowed? This solution still isn't perfect in my opinion because any of the daemons should not be creating the rolling files of some other daemons. Thanks in advance for your help! The Define with Bing Accelerator will display definitions in the same (or a new) tab and save you time while browsing. Using Define with Bing The installation consists of two steps. First, click on Add to Internet Explorer to start the process. Next you will be asked to confirm the installation. • cURL works but PHP cURL fails to internet [migrated]

  Trying to diagnose an issue using PHP to cURL to an Internet location on a RedHat Linux server. cURL is installed and working, and: <?php var_dump(curl_version()); ?> shows all the correct information in the output. The issue is I can use PHP to cURL to localhost on the box itself, but not the Internet (see below). Normally I'd suspect the firewall, but I can cURL from the command line to the Internet without a problem. The box can also update it's own software packages, etc. What am I missing?   I have no internet on Ubuntu 12.04.1 so i'm on a desktop so I got to install a .exe program to run my wireless card for my desktop so I got internet access, But I can't seem to download wine or its source files. If I do I put on my usb and boot into Ubuntu but then when I try to open it I get the programs source files etc. Anyone who could help me Please do :| ( I can't install wine from software center since I have no connection online). Note : I can download my stuff on windows 8 boot so I can transfer files to my usb to run on Ubuntu.

• The PATRIOT Act and how it relates to the Internet

  The subject of the Internet and anonymity is a very sticky situation for me because I primarily develop web applications for a living.  As a part of my job I have to track users as they enter, navigate and leave specific applications. The level of tracking depends on where the user goes within a website.  The basic information that I capture includes the user’s IP address, browser type, operating system, the date/time they entered the site and the URL from which the user was referred to the website. In addition to the custom logging that is placed on the website, web servers also have methods of logging built-in as well. Web server logging allows companies to have a central repository to store all user activity across the entire server. Not to mention that they can also create a central repository that allows multiple servers to store log files in one location. This allows users to be tracked across multiple servers as they browse website located on a specific collection of servers that host multiple websites. All this being said there are methods to attempt to protect your privacy by using proxy servers and increasing your browser security levels, but that will only limit the amount of logging not eliminate it. I have to agree with Traynor when he states that the PATRIOT Act eviscerates the constitutional protections of anonymous communication on the Internet. Therefore, given the recent passage and implementation of the PATRIOT Act, the constitutional guarantees of the right to anonymity have been severely compromised. I think that the PATRIOT Act is a direct violation of our first amendment rights because it allows for the government to directly monitor any and all activity on the internet including communications, usage, and transactions that can occur.  This opens the door to scrutiny and persecution of individuals who are not in line with the government’s beliefs and actions. If England had this type of monitoring capabilities during the revolutionary war, I believe it would have been almost impossible to succeed from England.

• How To Make FileZilla Open All The Required Files With One Click

  Is there any way of configuring FileZilla so that I can open all the files on a server that I use to edit with just one click. For example if the files are like this:- /home/abc/def/one.txt /home/abc/def/yet/another/directory/two.txt /home/abc/def/ghi/yet/another/directory/three.txt then it is very time-consuming to navigate through each directory and open the required files. These are only 3 files but what if we have around 10 to 20 files? Yes, copying the path of the directories is one thing. But something that is built-in so that I can just click a button like open all the required files of this connection and it opens all the files in the editor (as set in FileZilla preferences) then that would be great!

• Squid 3 and Internet Explorer 11 with authentication

  Need some help. My college has up until now been running Squid 3 on Ubuntu 12.02 and now 14.04 successfully. That was till recently. Our WSUS server is dishing out updates to all our workstations of which Internet Explorer 11 is one of them. Now all of a sudden users do not need to authenticate via the squid proxy to be able to use the internet. This makes it rather difficult as I also use SARG to generate usage logs for all users each day. All our workstations also have Chrome on them, and Chrome authenticates fine via the Squid proxy. Doing a couple of Googles, I ran into and article, where someone made mention that Microsoft has deprecated digest and basic authentication from IE 11. Reason was given that Office 2013 was giving problems as it was not giving the popup screen for authentication when Office tries to download templates from the internet. I have run into this problem, but by setting those sites to not authenticate via squid fixed the problem. Has anyone else run into something similiar? Would changing to NTLM or Kereberos be a solution?

• Unexpected deletion of directory

  I find that somehow the Downloads directory in /home/user/ is deleted. on using $locate Downloads, it shows the existence of directory without any existence of files within. now when i manually create directory named Downloads, $ locate Downloads shows the directory as well as the files the original folder had. also there is no hidden Downloads folder nor can i access the folder or its files this behavior is quite unexpected .... please help.

• I don't know how to connect to the internet

  I'm having some trouble finding an answer to my problem. I have a dell desktop (studio hybrid) and i have windows vista on it. The internet on windows vista works great, no problem. But now i downloaded Ubuntu 11.10 and I'm having problems. I can't find how to connect to my wireless network, when i click the network icon, it shows a list of things but I can only click 'enable wireless network' or something like that and 'edit connections'. But in this list it also says ( in a grey collor and i can't click it ) : 'No wireless connection, device not ready (firmware missing)" Or something like that. Now i tried several things i read on the internet (using my vista OS cause i can't use ubuntu for the internet, which is really enoying). But none of them helped me. I would like someone to tell me what my problem is or what information I have to give you to get an answer. So tell me if i have to edit a connection, or tell me how i have to get the wireless connection to work and to repair the 'firmware missing problem'. I hope someone can/is willing to help me. Bye
