• VS 2010 SP1 installation error: Generic Trust Failure

  I tried to install VS SP1 from the ISO (not the Web Installer) on a machine and ended up with a non successful install with the following error: Generic Trust Failure.   The log file said: Possible transient lock. • svn 503 error when commit new files

  I am struggling with a strange error when I try to commit my repository. I have a V-server with webmin installed on it. Via Webmin I installed an svn module, created repositories and everything worked fine until three days ago. Trying to commit brings the following error: Commit failed (details follow): Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/!svn/wrk/a1f963a7-0a33-fa48-bfde-183ea06ab958/RLE/.htaccess' Server sent unexpected return value (503 Service unavailable) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/rle/RLE/.htaccess' I google everywhere and found only very few solutions. One indicated that a wrong error document is set, another one dealt about the problem that filenames might cause this error and last but not least a wrong proxy configuration in the local svn config could be the reason. After trying all of the solutions suggested I could not reach anything. Only after a server reboot there was a little difference in the error-message, telling me that the server was not able to move a temp file, because the operation was permitted. So I also controlled the permissions of the svn directory, but also with no success. An svn update than restored the "normal" error from above and nothing changed since then. The only change I made on the server, I guess that this could be the reason why svn does not work anymore, was to install the php5_mysql module for apache via apt-get install php5_mysql. Atg the moment I have totally no idea where I could search. I don't know if the problem is on my server or in my repository and I would be glad to get any hint to solve this. • Set Error-Pages for all Applications in Tomcat

  I'm trying to set up custom error pages in tomcat 6, because I don't want the default ones to show up. My error pages are static html, no jsp or anything dynamic. I know how to do this through the web.xml in each application but I'd prefere to setup the error pages only once for the entire server. I tried to add the following fragment to the global web.xml (in conf), but no matter what I add under location, it does not show. <error-page> <error-code>404</error-code> <location>/404.html</location> </error-page> What do I need to do to gobally define custom error pages? • IIS 7.0 404 Custom Error Page and web.config

  I am having trouble with a custom 404 error page. I have a domain running a .NET proj with it's own error handling. I have a web.config running for the domain which contains: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"> <error statusCode="500" redirect="/Error"/> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404"/> </customErrors> On a sub dir of that domain I am ignoring all routes there by doing routes.IgnoreRoute("Assets/{*pathInfo}"); in the .NET proj and I want to put a custom 404 error page on that and any sub dir's of Assets. The sub dir contains static content like images, css, js etc etc. So in the Error Pages section of IIS I put a redirect to an absolute URL. The web.config for that dir looks like the following: <system.webServer> <httpErrors> <remove statusCode="404" subStatusCode="-1" /> <error statusCode="404" prefixLanguageFilePath="" path="http://mydomain.com/404" responseMode="Redirect" /> </httpErrors> </system.webServer> But I navigate to an unknown URL under that dir and yet I still see the default IIS 404 page. I am also seeing an alert in IIS that reads: You have configured detailed error messages to be returned for both local and remote requests. When this option is selected, custom error configuration is not used. Does this have anything to do with the customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" in the site web.config? I have tried to overwrite the customErrors in the sub dir web.config but nothing changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  If you’re using MDS and DQS with the Excel Integration you may get an error when trying to use the “Match Data” feature that uses DQS in order to help to identify duplicate data in your data set. The error is quite obscure and you have to enable WCF error reporting in order to have the error details and you’ll discover that they are related to some missing permission in MDS and DQS_STAGING_DATA database. • Managing 404 error pages with noindex and url rewrite

  Currently I use custom 404 error pages, having the following meta on them : <meta content="noindex" name="robots"> My guess is this way Google will remove deleted pages faster from the index, anyone has experienced a case where it does ? Also, is it better to have the url path rewritten to the actual error page, like the url pattern: http://{mysite}/{404_error_page} or is it best to keep the old deleted page's url when serving a 404 error ?

One time, machine rebooted (not manually), when I turn it on, it runs fsck on /dev/sdc2 and fix some errors and some files are missing on /dev/sdc2 I'v check /dev/sdc2 for badblocks, it doesn't have it ( using e2fsck -c /dev/sdc2 ) Here is the output of fsck http://pastebin.com/D5LmLVBY What else I can do to understand what's wrong here? Hence compared with the working XML file. Result is clean. Below portion of the error struck me Thrown while creating OAVars object for file: /tmp//dummy.xml   Cause : The /tmp is 100% full.   Fix: Either remove the old files in /tmp  directory  OR  export TEMP=/new/location where there is plenty of free space.

I tried with passing credentials on an array by another parameter and active SSL on my server, still I'm getting an error. • 503.1 Service Unavailable Error Resolution

  I was having a hell of a time tonight with my IIS on my development laptop. I don’t remember doing anything to change the IIS settings. I don’t use IIS that much on my dev machine. Usually Cassini is enough for testing my development efforts but tonight I needed to replicate a problem that seems to stem from x86 v x64 mismatch, so I went to create an IIS site pointed to my dev folder. When I did, I got a “503.1 Service Unavailable Error”. First thing I did is go over all my setting to make sure I didn’t screw something up when I set up the site. It was pointing to the right place, and the app pool settings seemed to be alright. However, when I got the 503.1 error and went back to my app pool list, I saw that the app pool I was using was stopped again. I must’ve started and ran it a dozen times to verify that I wasn’t seeing things. After having a colleague look at it and not finding an answer, I started poking around Google. I cam across a post from Phil Haack about the same error. His fix was not mine, however. When I ran his command on the CLI, I didn’t see the reserved routes for HTTP.SYS there. Finally, I looked in the event viewer (where I should have looked as soon as I saw that my app pool was stopping) and saw an error in there. For the IIS-W3SVC-WP Source I saw: The worker process for application pool 'DefaultAppPool' encountered an error 'Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions ' trying to read configuration data from file '\\?\C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\CONFIG\machine.config', line number '0'. The data field contains the error code. So I went to that path and saw a little lock on the file icon. I opened up the security tab for file properties and saw that I was missing the IIS_IUSRS group. On a machine that was working correctly, I verified that it indeed had the IIS_IUSRS group set to Read and Read & Execute allowed. So I set mine up the same and voila! Hopefully this helps somebody else, too.

• IIS 7.0 404 Custom Error Page and web.config

  I am having trouble with a custom 404 error page. I have a domain running a .NET proj with it's own error handling. I have a web.config running for the domain which contains: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"> <error statusCode="500" redirect="/Error"/> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404"/> </customErrors> On a sub dir of that domain I am ignoring all routes there by doing routes.IgnoreRoute("Assets/{*pathInfo}"); in the .NET proj and I want to put a custom 404 error page on that and any sub dir's of Assets. The sub dir contains static content like images, css, js etc etc. So in the Error Pages section of IIS I put a redirect to an absolute URL. The web.config for that dir looks like the following: <system.webServer> <httpErrors> <remove statusCode="404" subStatusCode="-1" /> <error statusCode="404" prefixLanguageFilePath="" path="http://mydomain.com/404" responseMode="Redirect" /> </httpErrors> </system.webServer> But I navigate to an unknown URL under that dir and yet I still see the default IIS 404 page. I am also seeing an alert in IIS that reads: You have configured detailed error messages to be returned for both local and remote requests. When this option is selected, custom error configuration is not used. Does this have anything to do with the customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" in the site web.config? I have tried to overwrite the customErrors in the sub dir web.config but nothing changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
