    Hi i have a problem with my Eclipse and the SDK (i have download and install the latest ADT Bundle for windows ) when i start my eclipse i get this problem : This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 22.0.0 or above. Current version is 20.0.0. please update your SDK tools to the latest version i have tried the option : Help - check for updates But with no new update find then i try this one : How to Update your ADT to Latest Version In Eclipse go to Help Install New Software ---> Add inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (or whatever you want) and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ after loading you should get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins check both if you want to use the Native Developer Kit (NDK) in the future or check Developer Tool only click Next Finish But i dont have the option to click next to finish (the back , next and finish options are grey ) Then i try this method : Go here download latest version of ADT-22.0.4.zip (*) At Eclipse > Help > Install new software... > Uncheck Contact all update sites during install to find required software (last bottom preference) that will avoid any unwanted delays during install. then at the same screen (top) Click Add > Archive > select downloaded ADT-X.X.X.zip > follow on screen installation steps But had the same problem when it was to finish the installation.. no option to click ''next'' then i try this one : Help – Install New Software in the ADT menu. Type https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml in “Work with:” and Enter. You can see the “Developer Tools” item. Select it and click Next. Click Next one more. Click Finish accepting the terms of the license agreements. Click OK in the “Security Warning” window. Let the installer restart ADT after installing the tools.   • How can I set/store cookie when anchor clicked

    I am trying to use Cookie so that a default style OR a specific style is applied in reference to the anchor tag clicked, even when the browser is closed/reopen. So if the user clicked the second link, close or refresh the browser and reopen, than the style should still be active, if it is their first time the default should apply.     Hello, I am pretty new to Objective-C, and I am trying to write an iPhone app to call a simple web service. I used WSMakeStubs to point to my WSDL file, and it generated 4 files for me...     Last Saturday I went to 'Developer Developer Developer 10' on the Microsoft campus at Reading (UK). This is one of a series of regular events put on by the developer community for the developer community. The guys who organise these events put in a huge amount of time and effort into them and they are well worth getting to if you can.I enjoy these events because there's always something currently relevant but also I can get an insight into things I don't normally come across or work with.Having said that, it's web related things that always grab my attention and this year one of my favourite speakers, George Adamson, gave a session on 'Designing for mobile (aka designing for everything)'. This is a subject close to my heart and I've tried to put the argument forward myself on http://www.ew-resource.co.uk/mobile/ but George makes a far better job of it that I can.His slideshow from the session is available on http://www.slideshare.net/george.adamson and although you won't get his unique presentation style in the static slideshow, this is well worth watching if you have the time.

    I am learning Java and have written a few small useful programs. I am new to spring but have managed to understand the concept of dependency injection for decoupling. I'm trying to applying that in my development work in an enterprise setting. What are the 3 most important design patterns I should master (not for interview purposes but ones that I will use every day in as a good java developer)? Also what are some good java design considerations and practices in coding specifically in Java? My goal is write good decoupled and coherent programs that are easy to maintain that don't make me standout as a java rookie. Stuff like not beginning my package names with com. have already made me precariously visible in my team. But they know I have 2 years of coding experience and its not in java.

  • New Job Over Budget

    I recently started a new job as a contract developer, and my non-developer boss of about two weeks ago gave me the task to re-create an app from another language and developer that he will reuse with multiple clients (replacing the front-end), that I estimated would take longer than his estimate of 12 hours. Two weeks later, I'm 230% over-budget. I admit this was my 2nd web app, I had been a wordpress developer in the past, so I am somewhat new to code igniter, but not shabby php by any means. My boss hired me knowing this and I was clear that it would take longer than his 12 hours. He's seen me in the office on task for 2 weeks, he should be somewhat prepared for this bill. Do I expect the full amount of hours, or do I filter against how much of learned? Can I bill for research as a developer?

  • iPhone Icon file in bundle blank when building for App store distribution

    I have been spinning my wheels for a couple hours on why when I build my app with my distribution cert with the device as the target the Icon.png file in the bundle is empty. If I build with my developer cert or against the simulator the Icon.png in the bundle matches the one in my project file. I have verified my Icon.png is 57X57, has no alpha channel, had extra finder attributes removed. I even took one of the Icon.png files from my first application that is in the store today, and it didn't work either.   • ASP.NET MVC & Detached Entity won't save

It works fine for insert but doesn't work for update, the database doesn't get called, so it's clearly not tracking the changes, as it's "detached". I'm curious as to what languages/technology are popular there for web development and software development. I have heard Ruby is/was strong there due to its founder being Japanese. What would you recommend someone focus on if they wanted to work as a developer in Japan? What are the most popular IDE's, utilities and probably libraries, not limited to the free ones. These that can help cut development time (eg. I am a certified C# .NET developer but have barely touched Java since college. (Yes, I am thinking about switching from .NET development to Java!)   • I'm a professional Java developer, should I learn .NET?

    Java and .NET seem to have a great number of parallels especially in the web application area. Both languages have many of the same technologies especially in terms of open source libraries (JUnit and NUnit, Hibernate and NHibernate) but there are also plenty of differences and different approaches to solving certain software development problems. As a Java developer I get the feeling I'm missing out on learning about web application development from the .NET point of view and I could learn a lot about the general principles by learning two languages rather than getting stuck in the details of Java and not seeing the bigger picture. So the first question is, do you agree? Does learning two separate but similar languages such as Java and .NET make you a better programmer? Secondly, I'm worried that if I choose to take, for example, a MCPD ASP.NET 3.5 certification it won't actually help me get work doing .NET development because it goes against all my existing experience. Is trying to broaden your skills a good career choice or is it a better decision to choose one technology and stick with that?

He quoted us $1,600 for a project… and now that the project is done, he sent us a bill for $4,000. He didn't let us know he went over the quote… he just continued working without notifying us. Now he expects us to pay the $4,000 when he originally told us, via email, that it would NOT be more than $1,600. What options do I have?

    Hi All, I'm a .NET developer with 10 years experience developing Web & Mobile Apps. I'm looking to branch into iPhone (and possibly Android) development. I'm looking at two products: Appcelerator Titanium (http://www.appcelerator.com/) and MonoTouch (http://monotouch.net/) I like MonoTouch because of it's standing in the Mono development communitity and it's C#. In saying that Appcelerator looks very straight forward using HTML and Javascript and targets Android too (which is overtaking the iPhone). The apps I'm looking to develop are line of business applications with data entry, syncing with back office, etc. Can anyone give their opinion on the pro's / con's of using these tools or any experiences.     I have some Javascript/CSS issues with IE (no suprises?). So when I see the error in IE8, I go to Tools Developer Tools. Then I navigate to the correct DIV. I click on it, look around ... then I look again at my page, and the problem is fixed! This makes debugging pretty difficult... To see the display error, go to http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/home.do in IE, and look at the "Your Recent History" module.
