• F# open source project hosting using SVN

  Hi all, I'm looking to choose open source project hosting site for an F# project using SVN. CodePlex is where the .NET community in general and most F# projects are hosted, but I'm worried TFS + SvnBridge is going to give me headaches. So I'm looking elsewhere and seeking advice here. Or if you think CodePlex is still the best choice in my scenario, I'd like to hear that too. So far, Google Code is looking appealing to me. They have a clean interface and true SVN hosting. But there are close to no F# projects currently hosted (it's not even in their search by programming language list), so I'm wondering if there are any notable downsides besides the lack of community I might encounter. If there is yet another option, I'd like to hear that too. Thanks!

When it comes to choosing one, it's easy to be lost without having an intimate knowledge of all of them. What are the main factors that go into choosing a CSS framework, and how will those choices map to certain frameworks? More generally, how does one choose a CSS framework? Note 1: I'm using "grid" and "framework" almost interchangeably here, but there is probably one I should use over the other. Corrections on this are welcome. Note 2: I am well aware that some choices will depend on taste and accordingly, this question can turn into a "best of" contest/subjective topic. I'm trying to keep it as answerable as possible, as I'm pretty sure many have this problem/question of choosing a framework and an answer to that would benefit the community. • How to do a cacheable redirection?

  When users enter my website example.com, their "preferred" language is detected and they are redirected (using a 301 Moved Permanently redirection) to example.com/en/ (for english), example.com/it/ (for italian), etc. It works perfectly, but when I analized my website with the Google Page Speed tool it gave me the following advice. Many pages, especially mobile pages, redirect users to a different URL, for instance from www.example.com to m.example.com. Making this redirect cacheable by the user's browser can speed up page load times for repeat visitors to a site. And later it says We recommend using a 302 redirect with a cache lifetime of one day. The redirect should include a Vary: User-Agent header as well as a Cache-Control: private header. So my questions are, how can I do a "cacheable" redirection in PHP?   Yesterday at MIX 10 conference Microsoft announced the Microsoft Silverlight Analytics Framework Beta. The Silverlight Analytics Framework (SAF) is a new open-source framework to allow designers and developers to integrate web analytics into Silverlight applications in a consistent manner. Supporting out-of-browser and offline scenarios, Microsoft built this framework in conjunction with a number of web analytics services and control vendors to support multiple analytics services simultaneously without degrading application performance. Because the SAF is enabled as a set of behaviors in Microsoft Expression Blend, designers and developers can visually instrument their designs and configure A/B testing rapidly without writing any code. Telerik is proud to be the first control vendor to support the Silverlight Analytics Framework. RadControls for Silverlight can be used with the framework out of the box. The suite offers Silverlight Analytics Framework handlers and behavior, helping developers to fine tune the values sent to the analytics providers.   Hello. Can somebody recommend user-friendly program that will create ( or convert from Excel & Word, or OpenOffice) editable pdf forms. You know like tax forms, that some of us filled out. Where you can create a form with predefined format and stationary, but let user edit/fill out fields. I need something user-friendly that a regular person can use. I'm NOT looking for a pdf library ( I already use wkhtmltopdf for generating pdfs programmaticaly). The reason is that we have about 400 documents ( internal expense forms, traing forms, etc) in .doc and .xls format that we want to convert to editable pdf ( so that people don't have to fill them out by hand). Coding 400 templates and then converting them using some lib or command line tool - is not my idea of fun, espsecially since those form change all the time. I'd like to just give HR and Quality department the tool, so that they can maintain those documents. • Automatically select headphones when plugged in

  When I plug headphones into my desktop computer, they are not automatically selected for output, instead all sound still goes through my S/PDIF output to the stereo. The headphones alternative is added in the sound settings, and I have to manually select it as output device. $ cat /proc/asound/pcm 00-00: ALC898 Analog : ALC898 Analog : playback 1 : capture 1 00-01: ALC898 Digital : ALC898 Digital : playback 1 00-02: ALC898 Analog : ALC898 Analog : capture 2 I have done a Google search, as well as search askubuntu.com, but none of the answers in the hits I found seems to help. Also, after listening with the headphones and then unplug them, the previous output is not automatically selected, so I have no sound at all then. I have to manually select the correct output in the settings.

  If i have lots of images appearing tumblr blogs, the sort of tumblogs with very little text just reams and reams of images for people to browse through (example - http://whereisthecool.com/). If my image is embeded in their site like this : <a href="http://mysite.com" target="blank"> <img src="cutecatblog.com/cat.jpg" alt="cute cat"/> </a> so the image was a link back to my site. Although there is no anchor text to speak of does google take into account the alt text of the image ? Would this still count in googles eyes as a backlink ?

  Is there something Specific I am needing to do to get the unity Gwibber/Social lens to work. I have gone into system settings and added google account, twitter account and facebook account. When I go to the lens however nothing is displayed at all its blank. I search any term including my name and it states nothing to display. So it remains blank. If I start gwibber itself it has found and does see my accounts new messages and posts. Any hints on what to try?

• Verify client certificate CN in Tomcat(APR)

  I'm running a tomcat installation with the APR libraries installed (with the OpenSSL HTTPS stack that comes with it). What I'm trying to do is to lock a specific HTTPS connector down to users of a specific certificate. Adding client certificate verification is no issue, but I can't get it to validate against a specific Common name only. I was perhaps a bit naïve and thought the mod_ssl attribute SSLRequire typically used in Apache Httpd would work, but that property is not recognized by the Tomcat implementation. (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/config/http.html#SSL%20Support points to some mod_ssl docs, but the Tomcat implementation does not seem to cover all aspects of mod_ssl). I can get this to work by using the Java version of the connector instead of APR (losing some performance) and just add a trust store with that one certificate in it.   I've got the following error from Direct3D when attempting to render in 3D: Direct3D9: (WARN) :Cannot compute WNear and WFar from the supplied projection matrix Direct3D9: (WARN) :Setting wNear to 0.0 and wFar to 1.0 My projection matrix is as follows: D3DXMatrixPerspectiveFovLH( &Projection, D3DXToRadian(90), (float)GetDimensions().x / (float)GetDimensions().y, NearPlane, FarPlane ); D3DCALL(device->SetTransform( D3DTS_PROJECTION, &Projection )); The NearPlane is 0.1f, the FarPlane is 40.0f, and the dimensions are 1920x1018. This code was working earlier but I appear to have broken it, and I'm not sure where the fault is. Previously I've only encountered it if NearPlane was 0, and Google hasn't suggested any other causes either. Any suggestions?

• Saving and Loading the Game (Automatically or Manually) via Internal Storage Only (Tablet PC Issues)

  Here is my question. When making a game app for Android, I considered first the device. It's no problem to save progress everything (from levels to records) on a smartphone because it has an SD Card slot. Exception to this, the tablet PC, it can really nothing but on internal only storage. For example, I'm using this tutorial for audio spectrum (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cN1VzZXcdo) that involves copying from internal to external in order to detect frequency. It works on the desktop but not on the Android device (Tablets only [i.e. Google Nexus Tablet]). Is there a way to optimize save/load game problems due to internal/external device issues? Plus, additionally, what's the reason why my device won't work on tablets, except the desktop, while testing the audio spectrum code and why? Also, is it the same with saving/loading game?

Let's also put aside the fact that incorrectly spelt terms might be ignored by a crawler, potentially leading to less text-comparizon hits. • How to properly add webapps to unity on 13.10

  I'm new to ubuntu, and one of the features that made the change from windows was the integrated webapps. I installed ubuntu 13.10, installed the unity-webapps-service and the unity-chromium-extension via terminal. Once I opened Gmail, facebook, google docs, etc... they all offered me to install it on ubuntu. But all I get is the icon on the applications menu, there's no integration with the top bar or the HUD. Does anyone know how can I solve this?
