  • Java 64bit install throwing non compatible 64bit error in 64bit Windows 7

    JRE and JDK 64bit install executable are throwing a non compatible win32 error: jre_7u1_windows-x64bit.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I thought this could be a system environment variable problem, but from what I can tell it is not, the variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is set as: AMD64 and the variable PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER is set as: Intel64 Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 5, GenuineIntel I am not sure what variables the installer reads from if any. I have tried java 6 installer and the same thing. I can install other programs designed for a 64bit architecture and I have looked at Control PanelSystem and SecuritySystem: which is in fact "System type: 64-bit Operating System".

    When the user enters a value above numericUpDown.Maximum, the control's value is automatically set to the maximum.   • odd problem with jni interacting with dll's - not sure why a change to gc ergonomics fixes it

    We were having a problem with our Tomcat jvm blowing up and giving us an hs_* dump at random times but always in the same spot, that wasn't very informative other than saying we had an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Commenting out various parts of the java that called particular jni functions just made it blow consistently in another spot. By changing our jvm options from: set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:+UseParallelOldGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote TO set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote The problem went away. The solution does not give me a warm and fuzzy however and am wondering anyone might understand what's going on under the covers here. Environment: jdk1.6, 64 bit OS and Java, Tomcat, Windows

    Hi. My goal is to manipulate the text-styles of my application via DependencyProperties. I got a diagram in which the texts are to be manipulated in size, fontfamily, color, etc. So I'd like to use an interface similar to a rich text editor like Word. Neither the system fonts nor the current fonts of the labels are displayed. The combobox is just empty. So is this the wrong place to start at? I'd also be grateful if someone could hint me to some documentation about using these Style-, Setter-, Binding-key-words, which are used in the ToStyle method, since this is somebody elses code I'm working with.

    Hi, first of all sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian... :) I'm developing with JavaFX and I'm new of it... I've an instance of a MediaPlayer and I can play songs, but if I set the volume properties to 0 or to other values the volume doesn't change and the song plays at the maximum. If I set the mute properties to true it's the same thing!!! I think that the setting of volume and mute properties doesn't work! Have you found this problem? Do you know which is the solution?   • VBA - Access 03 - Iterating through a list box, with an if statement to evaluate

    So I have a one list box with values like DeptA, DeptB, DeptC & DeptD. I have a method that causes these to automatically populate in this list box if they are applicable. So in other words, if they populate in this list box, I want the resulting logic to say they are "Yes" in a boolean field in the table. So you can see why this is going to cause problems because the listbox that these values (DeptA, DeptB, etc) automatically populate in are dynamic....there is rarely one value in the listbox, and the list of values changes per OrderID (what the form I am using this on populates information for in the first place; unique instance). I am looking for something that will evaluate this list one at a time (i.e. iterate through the list of values, and look for "DeptA", and if it is found add yes to the SQL string, and if it not add no to the SQL string, then march on to the next iteration). Even though the listbox populates values dynamically, they are set values, meaning i know what could end up in it. Thanks for any help, Justin

  • [PyGTK] How to Create a Multiline Button

    I'm trying to create a multiline button with PyGTK. I have a label added to my subclass of gtk.Button, but I'm having trouble sizing the label to the button. If the label makes it's own size, there is no text wrapping even with label.set_line_wrap(True) because the label simply resizes beyond the bounds of the button. I would set the size of the label to that of the button, but unless I explicitly set the size of the button using set_size_request, I haven't been able to find out how big the button is (it's packed in a table). Any suggestions?

After a category is set to the product all properties show up in the form and the user can set that property to one of the properties possible values. My question is: Is it possible for Thinking Sphinx to filter the products through a property and property value ex: :with => {:property_id => property_value} If it's possible, what is the best way to implement this?     Hey guys I'm working on the Microsoft Surface Table and I'm attempting to drag an item from 1 SurfaceListBox to another and recognize which SurfaceListBoxItem the other SurfaceListBoxItem was dropped on top of. The SDK help as a great tutorial for dragging items from 1 SurfaceListBox to the next and just adding the content and removing it from the other. If I set AllowDrop=True on the SurfaceListBoxItem the SurfaceListBox still captures the drop. If I set it to false on the SurfaceListBox it doesn't recognize the drop at all. Somehow I need to bury deeper on that drop or something.

    I'd like to set up a drag'n'drop list inside a modal window. The window's content is loaded via an AJAX call, so I believe I need to use jQuery's .live() method. Here is my current code: $('#cboxLoadedContent').live('load', function() { // Event for sortable page lists $('ul#pageList').sortable(); }); How can I set up bindings when the modal window loads? The modal window comes from the colorbox plugin. Note: I'm guessing that 'load' is not the right event to use, because if I throw a simple alert() in there, it doesn't even show up when the window loads.

I'm trying to implement this scenario using Unity and i can't figure out how this could be done: the same web application (ASP.NET MVC) should be made accessible to more than one client (multi-tenant). The URL of the web site will differentiate the client (this i know how to get). So getting the URL one could set the (let's call it) IConnectionStringProvider parameter (which will be afterward injected into IRepository and so on). Through which mechanism (using Unity) do i set the IConnectionStringProvider parameter at run time? I have done this in the past using Windsor & IHandlerSelector (see this) but it's my first attempt using Unity. Any help is deeply appreciated! Thanks in advance

    Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out.     I need a HashSet implementation where the elements are a pair of Integers eg. Set s = { {1,2} , {3,4} , {1,4}}. Here the set s has 3 elements. This kind of two key HashSet is needed in many situations like, I have a relation in my database where the candidate key is a combination of two columns. Is there some library which already provides this? If no such implementation is available, then rather then implementing the entire data structure from scratch, will it be easier (and efficient?) to extend the HashSet implementation in Java?

In VB6 I could just check a box for the compiler to ignore my error handling. I found the dialog that allows me to do something similar in VS, but it's about 10,000 check boxes instead of one - which is too many to change every time I want a production compilation. Is there a way to set VS up so when I am in debugging mode I get one set of conditions and when I am in production I get another? ...or is there just another method to handling errors and debugging more efficiently?
