• Using an EJB inside a JAX-RS resource class in RestEasy?

  I would like to have the following kind of resource class work when deployed under RestEasy in JBoss 6: @Path("Something") public class Foo { @EJB private SomeService service @GET public Object frobnicate() { assert service != null; // JBoss blows up here return result; } } Two questions: It is a limitation of RestEasy, not of the Java EE specification, right, that RestEasy can't inject anything annotated with @EJB? What have people done to work around this limitation? My developers are about to surge forward with hard-coded JNDI lookups (e.g. context.lookup(someHardCodedNameHere)) because no one can find a workaround to this specification violation at the present time. I really want to avoid this. Lastly, I've looked at using CDI, but the story here isn't much better as RestEasy and CDI still aren't talking to each other. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

  Hello frens, This is not a problem, but I just want to know stored as array of Mongoid better. I have following code in my model. class Company include Mongoid::Document include Mongoid::Timestamps references_many :people, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :companies end class Person include Mongoid::Document include Sunspot::Mongoid references_many :companies, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :people end Now in Company object we get person_ids as a result of stored_as array and company_ids in Person object. Now initially I inserted lots of person in company and the ids in person_ids fields is huge. Now I deleted most of person from company down to 8 people. Now I don't get why person_ids fields of Company object storing all the deleted ids of person. • Why do I get Code Analysis CA1062 on an out parameter in this code?

  I have a very simple code (simplified from the original code - so I know it's not a very clever code) that when I compile in Visual Studio 2010 with Code Analysis gives me warning CA1062: Validate arguments of public methods. public class Foo { protected static void Bar(out int[] x) { x = new int[1]; for (int i = 0; i != 1; ++i) x[i] = 1; } } The warning I get: CA1062 : Microsoft.Design : In externally visible method 'Foo.Bar(out int[])', validate local variable '(*x)', which was reassigned from parameter 'x', before using it. I don't understand why do I get this warning and how can I resolve it without suppressing it? Can new return null? Is this a Visual Studio 2010 bug?

  I’m trying to achieve a similar affect in a WinForms application as a master form does with ASP.NET. My initial thoughts on this were to create a base form and declare it as abstract, but the compiler doesn’t seem to let me do this. public abstract partial class Master : Form { public Master() { InitializeComponent(); } } So I have two questions: Why will the compiler not let me do this? Am I using the wrong syntax or is this a genuine restriction. Can anyone suggest a workaround or better way to do this? Couldn't TreeSet have been written so that the type parameter can only be a Comparable type? i.e. TreeSet would not compile because Object is not Comparable.   Is there any difference in efficiency (e.g. execution time, code size, etc.) between these two ways of doing things? Below are contrived examples that create objects and do nothing, but my actual scenarios may be creating new Threads, Listeners, etc. Assume the following pieces of code happen in a loop so that it might make a difference.   Hi, My table result contains fields: id count ____________ 1 3 2 2 3 2 From this table i have to form another table **score** which should look as follows id my_score ___________ 1 1.0000 2 0.6667 3 0.6667 That is my_score=count/MAX(count) but if i give the query as create TEMPORARY TABLE(select id,(count/MAX(count)) AS my_score from result); only 1 st row is retrieved.Can any one suggest the query so that my_score is calculated for all tuples.   I've been tinkering with IExternalizable, but I've noticed some unexpected behavior. I've got this class: public function readExternal(input:IDataInput):void { input.readObject(); input.readObject(); input.readObject(); } public function writeExternal(output:IDataOutput):void { output.writeObject("first string"); output.writeObject(424242); output.writeObject("second string"); } But when I try to serialize this class using AMF and send it to a remote server (via RemoteObject), Charles shows me that the request looks like this: But it seems wrong that my serialized object is leaking out into the rest of the request. So, what am I doing wrong? Is there some part of the documentation I've missed?
